that?
Hours past, Jenna had gotten Cronos and Cinder to sleep with add of Balto to put Cinder down. Balto looked at Cronos smiling down at him. He then walked out side to watch the moon. Jenna walked up to him, “Well you seem proud.”
“Well…I first thought I didn’t want them to do that…but hearing it from them is like…” He looked down with his smile he couldn’t define words for how it felt.
She smiled at Balto, “Yep. Never where a male of words.” He made a small laugh, She smiled at him in a rather of ‘why are you still here?’ “Why are you still here?” Jenna asked.
Balto looked at her oddly, “Because I want to.” he said defensively.
She gave him the look ‘oh I see.’ “You’re stuck.” she said very mockingly, with a smile.
He blushed and looked away, “I’m not stuck. I could get out if I wanted to.”
Her smile grew, “hmm sure. Then show me Mr. Escape artist.” She knew of why he hadn’t left yet.
He somewhat looked at her still blushing, “I want to spend the night. I don’t want to leave, what’s wrong with that?”
“O…k…” She mockingly spoke again, Balto still refused to make eye contact, She smiled, “Balto hon.? Could look at my eyes?”
Balto moved his eyes back and fourth from looking at her and the moon, “Eh, why?” He spoke nervously.
“Just to see your eyes.” She said somewhat flirtingly she moved slightly closer.
Balto eyes stayed longer on Jenna between passes from looking at the moon. “You’ve seen ‘em.” He said more nervously.
“Come’ on please.” Jenna urged on, He made a slight whimper.
“Alright.” He sighed and looked into Jenna’s eyes, “their beauty still surpasses the sea.”
Jenna smiled, “Thank you are you stuck?” she asked again.
He gave a heavy sigh, “Yes I ‘m stuck, I went over the fence from a pile of wood and there is nothing for me stand on to jump the fence again.”
She laughed in triumph, “I knew it!” she somewhat walked way then turned around, “I know your weak point is to lie, you can’t lie when you’re looking into a girls eyes.”
He made a small frown, “Yes I can.” He stood up and walked over to Jenna.
Jenna giggled, “Nice try, there buddy-boy.” Balto moved closer, “Oh want to prove it eh? All right say something I know is a lie like ‘I hate Rosé.’ Say that.”
He nodded his head “Fine, Jenna, you, hate Rosé.” He cocked his head “Proof.”
She smiled and shook her head slightly, “Say it to my eyes not the fence Balto, I’m over here.”
He slightly grumbled and look at Jenna, “Jenna you…gosh I can’t.” She laughed at him, “All right then how do you do it?”
She shook her head “I’m not going tell you how to lie, I like how you’re honest. Why would I teach you that?” She asked.
“So…it’s ok for you lie to my face but I can’t lie to you?” He asked with a smile.
“Yes-no! That was a trick question! And you know it.” Jenna protested.
He leaned back, “uh huh sure it was, I see now, how will I ever know you telling the truth to me again?” He said sarcastically.
“Because I will tell you the truth.” She said defensively at him.
“But if you can lie to my face how will I know? If you lie to the face.” He leaned back a little more and more angry.
“Balto I won’t lie to you. I don’t have any reason to lie to you.” She said comfortingly.
Balto didn’t seem satisfied, “Now how many secret lives do you have? Maybe five? Then?”
“Balto I wouldn’t lie to you!” She almost shouted.
He smiled and sighed, “I guess the only way to find out is to stock you.” He said with a shrug.
She caught on to Balto’s behavior, “Oh no. Naughty, naughty Balto.”
He shrugged “Just telling what I will be doing, there’s nothing more to it.”
She smiled, “Lets get some sleep then, Mr. Stocker.”
He stretched his back, “It’s about time for that, isn’t it, ah gosh.” She giggled, “Stuck?” “No!” He quickly replied to her. “Say it to my eyes.” “Stop it!”
Cronos awoke in the morning he looked for his father, he was sure he stayed the night, he looked around he found a dug hole under the fence. “Huh?” it had his fathers sent, He had lost interest in it and went back to where fell asleep before.
“Cronos wake up!” Cinder playfully cheered as he walked up to him.
“I don’t want too, I’m tired…talk to mom.” Cronos moved his head wanting to sleep again.
“Kill joy.” His brother said, disappointed.
“Tell me when I care…” Cronos said sleepily not really caring about anything but how to sleep. “Leave me alone.”
One month later.
Over this time Cronos had really changed instead of becoming like his father he seemed to drift to another type of brown his eyes slowly drifted to yellow as well.
Cronos was led by Cinder to sneak out using the hole their father dug that one-day. “Come on Cronos where seeing the town on our own for the first time.” He happily said.
Cronos shook his head, “Mom might get angry at us Cinder maybe this isn’t a good idea.”
Cinder shook his head, “First off, mother always seems pissed off at something, and second you need to live Cronos.”
“I Live I’m alive Cinder what do you mean by that?” Cronos asked confused.
He turned his head at Cronos, “To have fun once in a while. Now come on we have stuff to see.”
“Alright well do you know where we even are Cinder I don’t want to get lost, it can lead to trouble.” Cronos said nervously.
“Cronos…lighten up besides where already lost, I don’t know where we are and we just having some excitement. Mother and Father will tell you that, Father did it a lot so why can’t we?” He asked trying prove his point.
“W…where lost?” Cronos asked taking a few steps back, “Then we should try to get unlost.”
“‘Unlost’ isn’t a word, and we will know soon enough just you wait, lets live life to the fullest I’m not too found of the fence either.” He said slightly biting Cronos scruff to push him along.
“Alright, Cinder where do we go first?” Cronos asked wanting an answer before moving again.
“Well.” Cinder looked to his left then to his right and back at Cronos, “Left or right?”
“What? Uh…um…eh…ah right?” He said nervously.
“Cronos cool off, if we get into trouble just do that cool howl and father will be here in two heart beats, now lets go right.” He said pushing Cronos along.
Cinder and Cronos turned right walking down the street, Cronos wasn’t talking much but despite being nervous he was still a pup and was ever curious about things.
“Didn’t mother say most dogs go the boiler room when they want to talk and all?” Cinder asked for a recall.
Cronos nodded his head, “Yeah that’s what mom, said or implied rather but where is it?”
“I can help you there.” Cronos started shivering and turned to the sound, with wide eyes, “Hey I know you.”
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” Cronos acting out of his gut reaction ran away to the left.
Cinder cocked his head, “Wow. Who are you?”
“The name is Pete, I’m a…don’t know what I am, a mutt I guess.” Pete said he looked like pure bred husky.
“You look pure to me. I need to get Cronos, you know him?” Cinder asked.
“Yeah I told him a story when his paw was stuck under something.” Pete said with a smile.
“Maybe you could tell me something then?” He asked with his tail wagging.
“Nah. I forgot anyway, I’m too carefree to remember stories.” Pete said with a smile, pups are so easy to lie to. “I’ll go get him, besides I’m bigger and could get him back easier.”
Cinder nodded his head “Yep, that is true but I don’t want to wait here do you know where the boiler room is?”
Pete nodded “Yeah it’s right behind me.” Cinder looked behind him.
“Well that was easy.” He said delighted.
Pete walked along “Don’t worry he’ll be back soon.”
Cronos stopped running and took a few breaths “That was close.”
“May I know what was close?” Pete said to Cronos from behind.
He half grunted and started running again, Pete shook his head, “Come on.” Pete gave chase and easily caught up to him, “You can’t out run me.”
“Yes. I can, leave me alone!” He yelled stopping and running the other way.
“Well you have to do better, I got another story for you.” Pete said with a smile.
“NO!” Cronos left he alley he was in and ran to his right then down and alley and turned left running as fast as his legs would go.
Cronos used his paw to stop himself as he saw Pete in front of him waiting. “There’s faster ways you know?”
He stopped in front of him, “Why? What do want to tell me?” He said calmly, while panting.
“Because you have the natural talent I can tell.” Pete said taking a few steps toward him.
Cronos took a few away, “What natural talent?”
“First off, you sort of wolf looking and your tail.” Pete said with an admiring look.
“What’s with my tail?” He asked nervously, as he took a few steps away.
“Well I was here to get you to the boiler room from that other guy you were with.” Pete said ignoring Cronos question.
“Cinder?” He said moving his eyes back and forth.
“You do that when you think don’t you their Cronos?” He said watching him.
“What, what do you mean?” Cronos asked, confused.
“You move your eyes when deep in thought.” Pete said imitating it.
“I do? Why did Cinder, why did you tell me that…disturbing story anyway.” Cronos asked rather meanly.
“Well first off I don’t really know, for some reason I had to tell you, I tell other stories as well.” Pete
