Prologue: This story takes place in the 1500’s when the King of England order al wolves be killed because people viewed them as being evil. This story is about a wolf pack who is trying to survive the slaughter and make their way into the mountains of Scotland.

Characters

Progue- The Alpha Male of the pack is black and with a white patch under his left eye.

Jos- Alpha Female is the rather outspoken member of the pack is brown with blue eyes

Rachen- Omega Wolf of the pack is grey with black socks black line going from muzzle to tail

Emerald green eyes

Gardez- Omega female is white with brown spots with brown eyes

Bien- is the only female pup in the pack. Is brown like her mother Jos

Rez- is one of the male pups. Is black with a white underbelly with gray spots.

Cesa- is the other male pup of the pack. He is gray with a black spot around his eye has red eyes

Part 1 Something comes

Progue looked out over his territory, Progue had been hearing a lot of rumors coming from the south about how man was killing wolves Progue shook his head and thought “these rumors are nothing but a bunch of lies” Progue sensed someone behind him he turned and saw it was Jos his heart beat faster as he saw her approaching. She looks at him and says “what are you doing” he replies “nothing just enjoying the view” she looks from him to the sun setting in the distance.

Jos and Progue make their way back to their den but Progue smells something in the air it burns the insides of his nostrils making his eyes water. He turns to Jos and notices she is standing still her tail is erect, her ears twitching for any sound. She turns to him saying “what is that smell” he replies “fire” they both hear the forlorn howl of a wolf echo through the forest. They rush to see where it is coming from all of a sudden they see a wolf den ablaze and see humans with swords and bows standing there. They look on in horror as a solitary wolf with his lips raise in a snarl stands before the humans both Jos and Progue can see a dark liquid running down his coat his side pierced by many arrows. The wolf notices Jos and Progue standing there then he collapses to the ground dead.

Progue and Jos looked at each other just then one of the humans saw them and yelled “hey there is two more” all the humans turned and stared at Jos and Progue. Some of the humans loosed arrows at them but Jos and Progue ducked behind a tree for cover.

Jos turned to Progue and says “we must get the pups” Progue nods they turn and run away from the humans and towards their den. Rachen watched as the pups bounded about the den, he turned and looked at his mate Gardez he stood there staring completely oblivious to Jos and Progue padding their way over to them. Rachen turned and saw them he wagged his tail but saw they had serious looks on their faces, Rachen says “what’s wrong” Progue replies out of breath “humans coming this way” Rachen looked from him to Gardez he saw fear flicker in her eyes. He walks up and nuzzles her, he feels her quiver and he says quietly “it will be all right” she nods.

He looks from her to Progue and says “what do you want us to do” he replies “get the pups out of here I will try to lead the humans away” he nods. Jos looks at Progue and whines saying “you don’t have to do this” he says “yes I must” he turns and runs towards the humans.

Rez says “mommy where is dad going” she looks down at him and says softly “he is going to drive some bad men away” he starts to cry saying “dad no” he chases after his father, Jos watches as he runs she says to Rachen “get everyone out of here” he nods, Jos turns and runs after Rez.

Progue sees the humans ahead of him, two of them are holding torches while others hold swords and spears. Progue lunges at one of the humans biting him in the throat, the human falls dead to the ground. One of the other humans slashes Progue in the chest drawing blood another couple of humans release arrows into his body. Progue starts to wobble he turns and runs into a field that has tall grass. He starts to drift between this world and the afterlife, one moment he is in the field the next he is in a moon lit forest. He feels more arrows penetrate his body, he starts to feel the life leaving him as he stood there. The life drained through his paws and into the ground. Rez looked at his father standing there, his body covered in arrows Progue sensed his son and he turned his head to him and smiled. Then he shuddered and his soul left this world his body collapsed to the ground. Jos reached her son and turned him away from the sight of his dead father laying bloodied on the ground she looked at him and says “good bye my love” they both turn and walk away.

Rachen and Gardez lead the pups away from their den and into the forest when they hear someone coming towards them, they see it is Jos and Rez. Rachen asks “where is Progue” Jos replies “gone” Rachens head droops he says “now what” Jos replies “we make our way north into the mountains” he nods.

Later Rachen and Gardez and the others are sleeping unaware that there is humans approaching where they are sleeping. Rachen wakes up hearing something he gets up and looks into the darkness. He nuzzles Gardez awake she wakes up saying sleepily “what” he replies “there is something moving out there” she gets up her heart starts to beat faster. The humans light torches and set fire to the den that Jos and Cesa are in. Jos smells the flames the smell makes her eyes water Cesa says “mom I am scared” she replies “it will be all right honey” Jos starts to feel the air becoming tighter she all of a sudden feels sleepy she lays down Cesa does the same Jos feels her heart stop and Cesa slumps at her side they both parish in the flames.

Rachen and Gardez with the remaining pups manage to escape, they watch as the fire blazes into the night Gardez says “what do we do know” Rachen replies “keep making our way north that is what Progue and Jos would have wanted” she nods they all turn away from the fire and make their way north and to a uncertain fate.
