famous as you. I'm the doe that can fly. Cloudskye, the name is. My brother, Redonno. So are you trying to find the Snowdrip pack?"

Balto nodded. "My mother, Aniu lived there before. Until she became a spirit."

Cloudskye grinned. "Equally as famous, equally. I will help you on your journey to where the snow begins, then I will have to return to the forest. Just be careful you don't start an avalanche."

Balto nodded. "Thank you." The doe smiled, and they started their trek upward.

Soon snow covered the peak. The doe lifted her ears, and turned. With a nod, the doe moved toward a tall stag who seemed angry. Balto could hear them arguing as he began to climb again.

"A WOLF? You gave directions to a WOLF? Why I aughta..." the stag snorted.

"He needed directions, and you always said help the beings of the forest..."

The stag snorted. "My daughter, you could have endangered us all, and what will your mother..."

Balto heard the voices fade away as he climbed up. The wind was picking up, blowing back at him with a powerful force. There was this powerful feeling in the very air, as if the cave ahead held something severely magical. Balto didn't have to guess why. This was where the Great Wolf Spirit was born and raised. This was near where Balto was born. Balto remembered when his Husky father had climbed up and taken his husky-like siblings away. Balto looked up, sighing. He saw his sisters move slowly out of the cave. Once more, he was back in that den, crying out. "Papa! Where are you taking them?" His father had said nothing, and Aniu had hushed him. He heard her words again. "He's taking them someplace safe." He had had questions bursting inside, but he didn't ask. He trusted his mother.

Balto came back to where he stood at the moment. He had stopped. Looking up, he saw a wolf move forward, each step graceful and high-placed. Right then, Balto knew he was about to meet the current alpha.

He saw the wolf step up to him. "Who goes there?" he asked.

Balto looked up, and lowered his head a bit. Searching through the heavy snowdrifts, he saw the face of the alpha. It was a wolf-dog, and... it was his brother.

"I come here meaning no harm. I am Balto, son of Aniu. I only wish to ask a favor."

The wolf-dog came forth, out from where the drifts hid him. "Balto!" he cried. "Brother, it is Rodeo!"

Balto smiled. "Well, long story short, I sort of... got my mate Jenna mad, and I have to stay here for a while. If I can, bro..."

"Sure thing!" said Rodeo, slowly moving toward the pack, flicking his tail. "Welcome to Snowdrip Pack. You're welcome as long as you have to stay."

Balto stepped up to the pack, and hesitated. Home, at last. But he missed Jenna... oh, and he hardly knew where he went wrong. A tear hit the ground, then he shook himself. Well, he was home, home at last. Maybe if he didn't think of Jenna, he'd feel a bit better.

Just where did I go wrong? What did I do to her?

CONTINUED IN BALTO- HOME AT LAST

I open my eyes
I try to see but I'm blinded by the white light
I can't remember how
I can't remember why
I'm lyin' here tonight

And I can't stand the pain
And I can't make it go away
No I can't stand the pain

Chorus:
How could this happen to me
I've made my mistakes
Got no where to run
The night goes on
As I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to me

Everybody's screaming
I try to make a sound but no one hears me
I'm slipping off the edge
I'm hanging by a thread
I wanna start this over again

So I try to hold onto a time when nothing mattered
And I can't explain what happened
And I can't erase the things that I've done
No I can't

How could this happen to me
I've made my mistakes
Got no where to run
The night goes on
As I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to me

I've made my mistakes
Got no where to run
The night goes on
As I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to me
