smiled warmly.

"Can we come yet boss?" a voice echoed from the top of the hill.

Kodi smiled and looked up at the hill. "Sure why not. Come on down!" Kodi shouted back. Hope gave Kodi a puzzled look and then looked at the hill. She squinted as the sun was now rising behind the hill. But she made out a handsome brown husky run down the hill. It was Earl. Behind Earl came all of the teammates, followed by Balto and Jenna. Hope gasped and widened her eyes and just stared in awe. Earl reached the bottom and it looked like he was about to hug Hope, but hesitated awkwardly at the last second. He looked at Hope in the eyes and Hope felt a new feeling inside her, the same how she had felt for Zaq. Earl looked away awkwardly and smiled as Pheonix and the others padded up to Kodi and Hope. Hope noticed that Storm and Aleu had left unnoticed, maybe it was best like that.

Chapter 12, Hope Sweet Hope

When everbody got over the excitement of finding Hope, they were finally back in Nome. As soon as Hope stepped through the doors of her shabby cabin she felt a giant pang of guilt. She now realised how Kodi must of felt. His mate had died, he was forced to raise his only child alone, the child fell in love with his enemy, she ran away with him and almost got killed. Hope felt like crying. To cry for hours, days even, maybe even weeks. But she knew she mustn't upset Kodi more. The pain in her sides was slowly fading, but it was still causing her pain. Hope sighed and limped over to her rug. Kodi walked up to her with nothing more than a smile. Hope returned the smile and Kodi nuzzled her, she was, afterall, Kodi's little girl and it will always be like that.
