sighed. "Come on Hope, darling, we best be off."

Hope's eyes widened. "I'm leaving this place. I never won't to see Kodi again!" Hope shouted loudly.

"Righty ho then let's go." Storm shouted awkwardly funny.

Zaq glared at Storm and rolled his eyes. "Come dear. We've got to go." Zaq said as calmly as he could.

Hope's eyes glazed with madness. "Gladly." she mumbled hoarsely and angrily.

"Let's go!" Storm shouted irritably. Zaq looked at Hope and his face softened. Hope walked forward angrily but obediantly. Zaq and Storm looked at eachother for a second and then shrugged and followed after Hope toward the wood, leaving the torn frilly flower collar beside Dusty's grave.

Chapter 7, Looking for Hope

Kodi finally thought Hope had enough time in the room by herself. He sighed and nudged the door quietly open with his muzzle. "Hope? Darling?" he asked. No answer. Kodi frowned and entered the room completly, he gasped. Hope was no where to be seen. "Hope?! Kodi shouted, his heart skipped a beat. He scowered the room until it was clear the room was empty. He gasped once more. He then noticed pretty new paw prints by the dog flap, he recognised right away they were Hope's. He gasped extremely loudly, causing Kirby to run worriedly into the room.

"Hope's missing!" Kodi shouted at him, tears in his eyes.

Kirby widened his eyes and replied. "Oh my lord....."

Kodi's tear stained face turned into a determined one. "Go get the others. Go get everybody and search for her, I'll go get father."

Kirby nodded and ran fr the door to the bedroom where the other dogs were. Kodi hurriedly jumped through the dog flap and ran down the road, toward Balto and Jenna's house.

It wasn't far away and Kodi shot right through the dog flap without even stopping. He saw Balto and Jenna snuggling together in Balto's bed, they looked up surprsingly. If Kodi wasn't in such a worried mood he would be laughing. "Dad. Mom!" Kodi shouted at them breathlessly. "Hope's missing! She's left!" Kodi added, tears pouring down his face.

Balto and Jenna both gasped at the same time, their eyes widened as far as they would go. "What?!" Balto finally said, still stunned.

Kodi glared to himself in thought. "She's ran off with that dog.... Zaq..." his eyes glazed in anger. He felt the madness bubble up inside him.

"Oh deary...." Jenna finally responded, who also had tears in her eyes. "I'm sure she hasn't gone far.... Come on. We'll help you search." Jenna said. Balto nodded in agreement.

Kodi sniffed appreciatively but still sadly mixed with angerness.

Jenna smiled above the sadness and said. "Right we best be off. We best hurry before Hope can get much further." she stood up and stood beside Balto who had stood up a while ago.

Kodi also smiled very slightly. "Come on!" he shouted quietly as he jumped back out the dog flap. Balto and Jenna ran after him and ran down the road. Word had gone around quick that Hope was missing, so pretty much every dog in Nome was crawling the streets looking for her. Kodi looked around worriedly and his eyes swelled with tears. Balto and Jenna pulled up beside him and also looked around worriedly. Kodi after a while narrowed his eyes. "Everybody! Split up! Mum, Dad, go to the West side. Ralph and Kirby! Go East. Mary, Earl and Yoyo go South. Me and Pheonix, we'll go North!" he paused. "And everyone else! Just search wherever! We will find her!" Kodi ran up to Pheonix and everybody nodded in agreement and set off in their pairs. Kodi ran up beside Pheonix and sniffed the air worriedly. Pheonix's face was stricken with worry. But all the worries in the world added up together would of been lower than Kodi's.

A few hours had passed. Nothing. At this point pretty much the whole of Nome were looking, even the humans. But Kodi was determined to find Hope safe and sound.

"Kodi! We've found something!" shouted Ralph and Kirby, bounding towards Kodi and Pheonix. "Follow us!" Kirby shouted as they started to run back. In a split second, Kodi was bounding madly after them, closely follwed by Pheonix. They arrived at the entrance of the graveyard. Kodi peered inside, it was already crowded of what could be as about half of Nome. Kodi ran inside and bounded up to what seemed to have been the main specualtion. When Kodi saw it, his heart skipped a beat. There beside Dusty's grave, was Hope's flower collar.

Chapter 8, Wherever it Leads

The midnight frost sparkled witn the gleam of the powerful moon beaming across the snow and tree covered tindra. Storm was leading the wya through a large thicket of bushes, the cold causing white sharp air to come out unevenly from her nostrils. Zaq was behind Storm, walking closely but the traumatised Hope. Hope's eyes were wide and staring at the open in front of her, thought there was nothing there, her face unreadable by too many emotions. Zaq glanced worriedly at Hope and sighed.

"Hey wolf, are we there yet?" Zaq demanded awkwardly to Storm.

Storm snarled slightly and rolled her eyes. "Well DOG we're a few miles from South. South means the West is near...." she mumbled the rest under her breath.

Zaq frowned and rolled his eyes. "It's bloody freezing out here!" Zaq shivered.

"Well you better get used to it if you're thinking of living here." Storm replied matter of factly.

"Well we don't know for sure." Zaq replied, realising mid sentence that was pretty awkward.

"We ARE leaving. I never want to see Kodi ever again." Hope muttered surprisingly.

Zaq widened his eyes amazingly at Hope's sudden outburst, then quickly drooped them and looked back at the ground. Storm seemed to also be surprised. She coughed and padded faster in front of them. A few minutes passed when a sudden and loud howl broke the silence. "Aye. They're here." Storm said to Zaq and Hope while gazing at the sky. "I must go now. You stay here and ask them. They'll take you in."

"And how sure of that are you?" Zaq answered rudely.

Storm looked taken abacked. "Trust me. If you make out who Hope says she is, they'll let you in." Storm coughed, making the unclear words of, 'Aniu's Great Grandaughter.'

Zaq raised his eyebrows unsurely but by the time he was about to say something else, Storm was no where in sight. You could hear her howl fading in the distance as she ran at her amazing speed. Zaq started to shake nervously, but Hope was still staring at the open, barely even blinking. The seem to be leader of the wolf pack walked gracefully up to Zaq and Hope. "Well well well. Intruders I see." the leader smiled softly. He was pure white but obviously extremely old. It's a wonder why he hadn't even started to grey.

"We are here to nogotiate the terms of becoming one of your fellow pack members. Storm sent us." Zaq said uncertainly.

The leader raised his eyebrows. "Aye. It's Hope. We have been waiting for you."

Chapter 9, Moonlight Advice

Hope woke up in a startled sweat. She winced as the cold and sharp stone ground scraped across her back. She looked around startledy and sighed sadly but in relief as she saw Zaq laying down beside her, asleep. Hope bit her lip and and tears stung her eyes. Her ears drooped and she stared at the ceiling sadly. She sighed and stood up and walked over to the cave exit. She walked over to the ledge and sat down and stared at the stars. "Hello Hope." a voice whispered behind her. Hope widened her eyes and gasped slightly because it had made her jump. She spun around and was surprised to see the leader from earlier that had welcomed her into his pack. "Hi hi....." Hope stuttered uncertainly.

The leader smiled. "I am Kiderelle by the way. I know. It may seem girly but hey."

Hope nodded awkwardly, it seemed pretty weird an old fogey like him was making jokes.

Kiderelle nodded understandingly. "You may want to know why we have been long waiting so long to witness your presence."

Hope raised her eyebrows and bit her lip. "And why is that?"

Kiderelle smiled. "May I ask if you have heard of a certain aunt called Aleu?"

Hope widened her eyes, then resumed them. "Yes. My fath- family have told me about her." Hope stuttered becasue she didn't want to say the word father.

Kiderelle raised his eyebrows and sighed. "I'm affraid there's no good news. Aleu has been captured by the Southside clan, they're holding her ransom. We need you to save her."

"I thought she was leader of a different clan?" Hope questioned.

Kiderelle smiled slightly and looked at the stars. "We are that clan. Half of us broke up from the half she was leading and we started a new clan. So I'm sort of the co-leader. Aleu is still the leader of both of us."

Hope thought. "But where is the half she was leading?"

Kiderelle sighed sadly. "Most of them got killed by hunters or other wolves. Some of them survived and have run off somewhere."

"Oh...... But what can I do to save her?" Hope looked at Kiderelle.

Kiderelle slowly moved his head and stared at Hope. "You have the great Aniu's blood running through you veins. We need somebody with the greatness of what you have to save her. You have the key."

Hope frowned astonishingly. "Me? But why me? I have loads of other relatives."

Kiderelle stared into Hope's eyes mysteriously. "You have what us wolves call 'Proudful' you are carefree and have the right attitude to go all these lengths."

Hope stared at the ground in front of her and closed her eyes. "I must get it from Kodi." she felt ill just saying his
