Chapter 1 Together

It was freezing cold outside in Nome. A pure bred husky named Jenna walked home from a vistit to Balto's boat. Balto was growing older but still had his pride. Rosie was now a 12 year old and got a bit to busy to play with Jenna a lot. At first she felt terrible and sad about it, but with Balto by her side she got through it and in a way she moved on. Everytime she'd nuzzle her mate she'd feel hole again. She'd been home less and less these days to be with her mate. Rosie's parents never let Jenna spend the night with Balto in the cold.

Jenna lay down infront of the fire. Her red bandana was fading to orange. No matter what she wore it at all times. She began thinking of her mate trying to see if it would help her doze off. After 20 minutes of laying on the floor thinking of Balto Jenna was asleep.

Balto stood up on the edge of his wrecked boat. All over again, all the dogs in Nome where against him. Boris had died a year before and he lived alone. But, when Jenna would come he was happy again. Rosie wasn't very fond of him anymore and would only pet him on occasions. Thinking of Rosie made him think of Jenna seconds later. "If I could just live with her." He said to himself. Balto shook his head. "But, I can't. It's not possible." He walked over and under his dark green blanket. In seconds he fell to sleep.

Chapter 2 Unwanted.

Balto woke up late the next morning, he decided to go out into town.

He sat on a barrel and watched all the dogs in town. He saw Steel walk by with his new team. "Oh, well well well. Looks its the pathetic wolf!" Said Steel smirking. A growl escaped the side of Balto's mouth. "Oh look it speaks!" Snickered Callo. Steel leaned forward and knocked Balto off the barrel. Jenna had come just in time. "Balto! Oh God!" She said trying to get him off the ground. "Well, look its Jenna to the rescue!" Mimicked Jalo. Jenna growled loudly. "Shut up!" She yelled. Steel and the gang pretended to  back away. "Look out boys she could pounce on us." Steel said laughing. Jenna growled louder. "I SAID SHUT UP!" She spat. Jenna jumped forward barking. Steel stared at her harshly with his light blue eyes. So, with that he backed away smacking his tail on her nose.

Jenna carried Balto back home on her back. When, they got to Balto's boat Jenna's was relived. "Oh, Balto what has this world done to you?" Jenna asked concerned. Balto caughed getting up.  "Jenna I'm fine." He said. He was right, he was fine. Jenna licked his cheek. "Don't you ever scare me like that again. I don't want you staying in town alone like that. It's dangerous." She said. Balto smiled nodding. How could he not go into town? But, if it was for the love of his life he'd do it.

Jenna stayed with Balto for an hour than left for home. She couldn't beleive that happened to Balto. Thinking of him laying there in pain made her want to cry. But, she didn't not than, not there.

Chapter 3 I'm With You

Late that night Balto began caughing terribly. He was having trouble breathing. He just couldn't stop caughing. Dixie was walking out in the snow and saw him. She ran to Jenna's house.

"What?!" Jenna asked her. "Coffing. Just coffing." Said Dixie scared. Jenna jumped through her doggie door and ran off to Balto's boat.

Balto was still caughing. Jenna gasped and ran up to him. "Balto! Balto breath." She yelled panacking. Balto gasped in pain. Tears went down Jenna's cheeks. After ten minutes Balto lay down. He was breathing strange and slow. He was coming to an end. "No! Balto please. No! No. No. No. No. No." But, it was to late. Balto's spirit was gone.

Chapter 4 How Does It Feel

Rosie's parents kicked Jenna out of the house because she spent the night at Balto's in pain. She sat with Dixie venting. "How does it feel?" Dixie asked. Jenna shook her head. "I'm not afraid of anything I just need to know I can breath." Jenna whispered. I have no home, I have no food, I have no water; I have no love. She thought to herself. It was over. She couldn't live the way she did before. Now, she knew the way Balto felt almost all his life without her by his side. Jenna had no life anymore. She was an outsider.

Chapter 5 Slipped Away

Jenna lived on Balto's boat alone for the wrest of her life. She didn't feel safe anymore. Anytime she'd go into town the dogs would stare at her and whisper mean things. She wouldn't get mad. She'd just feel sad and be in pain. The only way she got food was when Dixie would sneek food to the boat for her. And the only water she got was from the murky lake water. One day when it was the coldest it was all year the wind took her bandana away. Now Balto's dark green blanket was small and torn up. She wore it for a bandana for the wrest of her life. I miss you...

When did I say she died? You sort of implied that, but I
never mentioned it.

Nice story. I liked it, but just one question, did Balto
just randomly get sick? Or was it an injury with his scuffle
with Steel? Anyway, keep it up.
