Feelings on Fort StoneRidge
Part 1
A brown wolf rode his dun Quarter Horse up to the post office to mail a letter. As he dismounted a covered wagon went by causing dust to go up and float back down to earth. The bell tinkled as he walked into the post office. Mr. Bayton an old grizzly furred gray wolf dog greeted him from behind the counter. "How are you doing this fine morning Staff Sergeant Bruno?" "Doing fine sir." Bruno replied. Bruno was in the Calvary and was one of the top-ranked officers. Bruno handed him the letter & Mr. Bayton took it. The bell tinkled again telling everyone someone just arrived. Mr. Bayton smiled but Bruno still didn't face the door. "Good morning Staff Sergeant Bruno and Mr. Bayton." A female voice said. Bruno looked behind him & saw a gold tan she-wolf. "Good morning miss SB." Bruno said. SummerBreeze stood by the counter & Mr. Bayton handed her a letter from her friend, Tawny Rose. "Thank you sir." SB said before leaving the post office. Mr. Bayton nodded then looked at Bruno. Bruno watched her go. "SB got your tongue boy?" Bruno smiled at him before saying, "Oh hush up!" Mr. Bayton laughed as Bruno also left the post office.
ThunderStorm Wolf raced his sorrel Quarter Horse up to Bruno. Bruno nodded at him as Thunder fell to his pace. "Got anything on the agenda tonight?" Thunder asked. "Don't believe so." he replied. They rode their horses through the busy street of Glorystone, the town that gave the fort their name. It was called Glorystone because of the huge canyon just west of the town. They heard the train come in and saw it stop to let off the passengers. Thunder blushed as he saw a glimpse of gold brown. Bruno looked at him before saying, "What is it?" Thunder rushed out; "It's October's Wolf! She is here. I'll be right back!" Thunder kicked his horse into a trot toward the train station to meet his love. Bruno rolled his eyes then he heard a shout from behind him. He glanced behind him to see his friend, Wolf Ranger race his bay horse over to him. Ranger stopped his horse beside Bruno and said, "The general wants a word with you, me, and Thunder. Where the hell is that boy anyhow?" Bruno pointed toward the station and both saw Thunder and October hug. Ranger growled then yelled over to Thunder the news. The brown and black wolves then turned their horses to the general's office & let the gray follow after them.
General Stormwing glanced at them from his report he was looking at. He put the report down and motioned them to sit. He took a deep breath before he started. "I have several reports from the scouts that the Red Shoulder Rogues are up to something. I want you fellows to check it out. Go do your job. Dismissed." The 3 got up and saluted before leaving. They mounted up and galloped to the Red Shoulder Rogues' territory in the Spirit Rock Canyon. When they arrived the camp was deserted. "Oh no! They could have gone the long way around through the trees." Ranger exclaimed. "That means they had to leave early morning." Bruno replied. "Which concludes they're already at town." Thunder said. The 3 looked at each other then galloped out of the canyon and onto the plains.

The wolves saw the rogues attacking the town. Ranger collided with 1 rogue and knocked the rogue down. Cole a coywolf shot down a couple with his shotgun. The women & pups ran to the fort. General Stormwing stabbed a dog fox rogue with his saber. Thunder ran 2 rogues down and shot them with his pistol. A coydog tried to slash at Bruno with his spear but Bruno punched him off his Appaloosa. Bruno slashed 1 with his saber before he heard SB shouted, "SnowPaws! They got SnowPaws!" A rogue too far away to shot with a shotgun rode away with a knocked out SnowPaws. Demon was about to shoot him down with his rifle when a rogue charged at him. The horse & rider blocked his vision. The rogue jumped at him but Wolf Ranger tackled him down to the ground. The Chief howled and the Red Shoulder Rogues slipped out of Glorystone. 1 rogue was waiting on the ridge and he stared at Bruno while the rogues ran past him. He snorted then connected to Bruno through spirit. Bruno was looking away then whipped around to look at the ridge. He saw the rogue stand there & was about growl at him through some unknown link to him but the rogue was already gone.

near the end. And thanks for the explanation of the odd
phrase in that other story. Do you know someone who talks
like that, or do you just come up with the dialogue on your
own?
