are a fool dog to try and beat a free wolf!” Larka snarled at Jack.

“Why are fighting us you dog?” Lobo snarled.

The two wolves advanced to the Irish wolfhound. Jack started to shrink in size, but managed to keep his head high. When Lobo darted forward snapping at him, Jack’s head went down with the rest of his body.

Suddenly, there was more barking that came from the bushes. From those exact bushes emerged hundred of hunting dog of many breeds. There were about 10 times more dogs than wolves, plus one lynx. The dogs were barking, snarling and snapping at the paws of the wolves. One of the wolves jumped forward and took a bite out of on dog.

“NO!” Liberty wolf yelled.

“We have an idea.” Wolfhound told the wolves. The dogs stopped and listened just in case one of the wolves yelled it out. Liberty wolf and Wolfhound ran up a hill and howled as loud as they could. The howls lasted about 5 minutes before the other wolf started to howl. The dogs ignored it, but suddenly stopped when the ground started to shake a bit. A herd of 37 horses came out from the fields. They trampled the dogs, but some managed to escape and attack the horses. But they were too strong to be taken down by a dog.

Chinook was so close to Angus that she could feel the hairs from his tail on her nose.

We’re heading the wrong way. The Darkness is this way. This mutt does not know about the Darkness and its powers. Maybe I can chase him in to it. But then Aspen will go in with him Chinook thought. She wanted to use the Sight on Angus, but she would not be able to concentrate when running.

Angus was running right into the deep part of the forest, where the Darkness lay in way of victims. Chinook was starting to get her visions again.

Suddenly, Angus took a sharp corner and slipped on the moist rocks and moss. This was Chinook’s chance to get her friend back. She leaped onto the Irish wolfhounds’ body and bit his neck, with Angus releasing Aspen from the grip of his mouth. Chinook grabbed Aspen by her scruff and ran. Chinook and Aspen could hear Angus howling with furry. Chinook had so far ahead; she thought Angus would never catch up. But Angus ran right after them. In seconds he was beside of Aspen and Chinook. They were also heading for the dark side of the forest. In to the lion’s den.

Chinook had no choice. She ran in a straight line and went right into the Darkness. Angus stopped running and watched the two wolves run into it. The alpha female and her friend were swallowed by the Darkness.

Chinook was terrified. She had no idea what to do. Aspen was not in her mouth any more either.

“Aspen, if you hear me, say something.”

A small whine came from behind Chinook. She turned around and put her wet nose into Aspen’s fur. Chinook picked her up and placed Aspen on her back. They started to walk in the Darkness. It was very freighting for Aspen, but for Chinook, it seemed that there was something their in the Darkness that she needed to see. It was pitch black in the area. Chinook was looking around in the dark to see if she could see ant thing at all.

Then right when Chinook looked at this place, there was a glowing light. She walked to it. It looked like a shape, but it was glowing like an angel. Suddenly, a head came out from it fur. It was a wolf, an angel wolf. Chinook knew who it was at first sight.

“Mother, is that really you?” Chinook said with watering eyes.

The creature opened her eyes and gazed at Chinook and Aspen. She was a snow white with a black tip on her tail. Her eyes were as blue as a crystal pond with small green rocks in the bottom.

“Yes, Chinook.” the wolf said

Chinook had tears in her eyes. Chinook ran up to hug her, but she went right through her mother’s body.

“Mom…” Chinook was crying

“Chinook, you must get out of here. This is no place for a young wolf to be.” Her voice was gentle and warming.

“Mother, why must you stay in here? You are a fool to stay. That beast will haunt you.” Chinook wept.

“Chinook, you have forgotten. The Sight is with you. And you must use it to heal, not fight.” The voice echoed.

“Mom, how can I?” tears gently fell on the ground.

“Murder, is not for us. We wolves must be as equal as any other animal.”

“Why must dogs come after us wolves and coyotes?”

Chinook’s mother started at her daughter.

“You are putting your self ahead of others again. You must put other things ahead that are more important.”

Chinook bowed her head in shame. Aspen was gazing around the Darkness. Suddenly, a dark shape darted in the darkness of the Darkness. Aspen was sweating with fear while Chinook spoke with her mother.

“Chinook, there’s something in the Darkness. What is it?”

Chinook and her mother looked at Aspen.

“You must get out of here! The evil spirit will get you in here!” She started to disappear in the Darkness.

“NO!! Mother, don’t” Chinook started running to her fading mother.

“Chinook, we have to get out of here! You mother said so.”

Chinook turned around to her shivering friend. She nodded. The dark spirit was traveling around the space. Chinook picked up Aspen by the scruff and hauled her away. Chinook was looking around for a place to run out, but there wasn’t any where to get out.

“Maybe you can run in a straight line Chinook.” Aspen suggested.

“Maybe I can.” Chinook ran in a straight line. But she and Aspen bumped into something furry. Chinook stopped, but couldn’t see anything at all. It was too dark.

“Chinook, what is that?” Aspen whispered in Chinook’s ear. Chinook growled. She knew who it was. It was the Spirit, the one responsible for the death of her mother. Kitharas was the name of the Spirit. He was traveling around the Darkness. Chinook knew this was a bad time, but she closed her eyes and concentrated. Soon she opened her eyes too figure out that she was looking through Kitharas eyes.

Chinook could see everything. But when Kitharas turned his head toward Aspen and Chinook, Chinook could see her self. The evil Spirit started to walk quietly toward the pair. Chinook knew that she could open her eyes and be her self again, but also to know the location of Kitharas. Chinook thought… too late, Chinook opened her eyes and jump at the where bout’s of the beast.

Chinook jumped up and bit the throat of the beast. He put up a struggle. When Kitharas fell to the ground motionless, Chinook and Aspen started to walk away.

“How did you know where to bite Chinook?” Aspen asked with curiosity.

“Well, my mother told me to use the Sight. And I did. When I closed my eyes…”

“Ohh yeah, I remember that!!”

Chinook cleared her throat and stared at Aspen. Aspen’s smile faded.

“Sorry”

“As I was saying, when I closed my eyes, I looked through his eyes and I saw where he was and I also saw where we were. When I opened my eyes, I knew exactly where Kitharas was.”

“Wow!” Aspen said to Chinook.

The alpha female and her friend began to walk in the Darkness. Minutes later, Aspen gazed at Chinook.

“What are you looking at Aspen?”

“Look at your self Chin.”

Chinook looked at her self in the Darkness. All she saw was darkness.

Then suddenly, Chinook saw small sparkles floating around her body. They were all sort of colors. Some were even multi color. Chinook was suddenly lifted in to the Darkness with the sparkles floating around her back.

Aspen watched her float up. Chinook had no idea what was happening. Small thing were coming out of Chinook’s back. Aspen gasped at the sight. Chinook could fell them growling. After a few minutes, Chinook came down with something on her back.

“Chinook, what’s on your back?”

“I don’t know.”

Chinook gazed back to look at her back. She had a hunch of what they could be. She unfolded them with a lot of might. When she unfolded them, Chinook figured out what they were. They were wings. Black and white beautiful wings were on the back of Chinook.

“Aspen, do you know what these are?”

“You have wings Chin.”

“Yes I do.” Chinook tried to fly around. It was almost like she has had them for along time.

Chinook picked up Aspen on her back and flew right threw the wall of the Darkness. Chinook and Aspen looked back to only see the Darkness disappear. They went away from the spot too the pack.

Whitelynx was just about to bite the neck of one of the dogs when, he heard a familiar howl.

“Chinook…” Whitelynx whispered.

Chinook flew out from the bushes with Aspen on her back hanging on for life. She landed with a loud thump. All dogs and wolves separated. There were many dead dogs and wolves. The sight disgusted Chinook. She walked down the line. All of the wolves and dogs had many bruises and scratches. Chinook had spread her wings so the tips could touch the wolves and dogs.

As Chinook walked down the line with the tips of her wings exposed. As soon as the tips touched the creatures, sparkles came and healed them. All of the wolves and dogs were pleased to be healed. Chinook stopped at the end to see her dead friend, Lee. Tears came streaming down from her eyes. Everyone was healed and revived from dieing. Chinook touched her with the tips of her wings. Nothing happened.

Chinook knew that she was dead to long. She could
