Winged Warriors 2

Winged Warriors 2

Iceberg and Varian ran as fast as the could to find the human base. They knew that this could be the end for the both of them if they found it.

“Are you sure it this way?” Varian asked his friend.

“I’m sure.”

The pair slowed down near the edge of the forest. Iceberg could hear many thing that came from the edge of the forest. Varian took an arrow from his casing and took out his bow. Iceberg got out a knife that she held with her mouth. They crept forward with their weapons. Their paws just touched the ground quiet enough so there was only a small snap in the fallen, dry leaves. Iceberg and Varian knew that humans were wondering around that spot.

“I hear humans talking.” Iceberg growled.

“This must be their meeting place.”

The pair heard a man yelling orders.

“What did he say Iceberg?” Varian asked in a whisper.

“How am I supposed to know?” she whispered back.

Varian poked his head out from behind the tree. He pulled his head back just as soon as he poked it out. Iceberg poked her head out only to feel a terrible pain in her neck and she was pulled back.

“What are you doing Varian?” she asked in a growl

“Stay back…” Varian whispered

He pushed her back with his muzzle so they were both plastered against the tree. Two humans walked on the two sides of the tree.

“Are you sure this is where he wanted us to go Bob?” one asked.

“I’m sure. Besides, animals are as stupid as you.”

“Was that an insult?”
“Duh, of course it was.” He yelled.

Iceberg and Varian watched them go. Varian poked his head out again from behind the tree.

“I’m going in Ice.” Varian told her.

“No, you can’t! They will shoot you with their guns.” Iceberg cried.

Varian crawled over to her and hugged her. He knew that this was hard for her and that she was scared.

“I won’t die, you hear me?” Varian asked his friend.

Tears came down from her eyes as he left. Iceberg was left alone for a while before she realized something. The sun that was on her back was now shade. Iceberg felt something grab her neck.

“Ha-ha, a wolf has come to kill me and my men. How stupid.” He howled at her.

Iceberg saw that a big man was holding her by the scruff. She remembered what she had been trained. Iceberg grabbed her knife and jumped on the man making him walk around in trying to get her off. Iceberg got onto his back and she got her knife so that the handle was in her mouth and the point in front of her. She pushed her head forward stabbing the knife in the spine on his back.

“I’m not a stupid animal! I’m a war wolf!” Iceberg yelled at him. She pulled the knife out from his back and threw it on the ground. The man fell to the ground with Iceberg on his back. Varian ran back panting and with a limp.

Iceberg knew that she had killed the sergeant human. She threw her head back and howled with triumphant. Varian howled with her.

“Have they killed the sergeant?” the sergeant wolf asked his pack.

“It’s Iceberg and Varian howling, but Iceberg’s is more powerful. She did!” one wolf bayed.

Iceberg helped Varian walk back to base. Varian had stepped into a wolf trap. A trap that clamps on the paw of a wolf injects a poison that will kill the animal if it is in the wolf’s system to long. Varian had it in his system for a few hours.

“How did you get your self into a mess like this?” Iceberg asked.

“I told you a million times! Jocker did it!” Varian yelled.

“Jocker would never do that, he’s a wolf!” Iceberg started to pull off fur so she could put water in the wound.

“I know he’s a wolf, but… YIPE! Oww, you pull off some fur!” Varian yelped in pain.

“I can’t help it if it hurts. We have to move on! Get out of here and back to base.” Iceberg told Varian.

Varian nodded and got up with a limp. Iceberg knew that he would not be able to make it walking. Iceberg walked up to him and lifted him up on her back. He was very heavy for a wolf. Varian fell asleep while on Icebergs back. Varian tried to get in a better position, but Iceberg would not give up.

Somerin opened the door to the base to reveal Iceberg and Varian.

“Ohh my gosh! You killed the sergeant of the human side! We win!” Somerin yelled.

Iceberg fell on the ground from exhaustion. Varian helped her to her feet and carried her to her resting place where she would stay until others came for them.

Three hours later, Iceberg opened her eyes just so she could see. Wolves and dogs were standing over her. When she got up, Somerin came over with a medal in his mouth. Iceberg got up while many animals were cheering and shiny things came from birds that had bags in there mouths. Iceberg has one the war.

“I can’t believe that I’m the won who made this happen!” Iceberg yelled.

All of the animals cheered as Iceberg walked down the path with Varian at her side. Iceberg knew that this was the end of the whole thing, and that she, and the rest of the animals were safe from being killed.
