Till The end of our lives I will always love you

Balto and Jenna lay in the front palor of Rosies house, Balto and her were getting older by the day. Lately Balto had become weak and he couldn’t do a lot of the things he was able to do a lot of the things he could do when he was young. Jenna looked at him laying there still asleep and thought “I have been blessed by having someone like him in my life” Jenna watched him for a few more seconds then she went back to sleep. Jenna awoke alittle later hearing someone tinkering in the kitchen she got up and stretched her bones cracking as she did so, she made her way into the kitchen to find a now teenage Rosie searching among the cupboards for something to eat.

Rosie heard something behind her and she turned around to find Jenna starring at her, Rosies says “hey girl” Jenna’s ears perk up and she barks. Rosies walks over to her and reaches down and pets her on the head and says “want something to eat” Jenna barks again Rosie nods her head and pours Jenna a bowl of dog food Jenna eats it happily. After Jenna was done she walks out of the kitchen and towards Balto who is still sleeping she nuzzles him awake he replies “huh… oh it’s you Jen” He gets up Jenna laughs and Balto replies “what is so funny” Jenna replies “you have bed head” Balto walks over to his water dish and looks into it. He sees himself reflecting back his youthful zeal gone from his face leaving a tired expression he looks into the eyes of the reflection starring back he sees the inner strength and courage are present as they were when he delivered the anti-toxin to Nome. He noticed that the fur on his head was sticking up and he chuckled and he lifted his right paw and patted down his fur and he turned to Jenna and said “better” she nodded. Later that day Jenna and Balto took a stroll along the streets of Nome Balto smelled something that he had not smelled he turned and saw his mother standing there her fur whipping in the wind her fierce gaze cutting through Balto like a knife he says “mother” Aniu nods Balto looks at her then at Jenna and notices that she isn’t there. He looks around and notices they are in a forest where the wind is howling threw the trees Balto looks at his mother and says “where are we” she replies “in the afterlife or at least the border of the afterlife and the physical world” Aniu watches as her sons body tense in fear and Balto replies “why am I here” she replies “your time has come my son” Balto feels the fear grip his body and he says “am I dead” she nods Balto puts his paw to his chest and feels no heartbeat and he isn’t breathing. He thinks “whats wrong with me” he hears  his thoughts echo through the forest Aniu looks at him and says “there is nothing wrong with you this is how it is when you are lets just say when you are not on the physical world” Balto looks at her and says “I want to go back” she nods and says “you may have the use of your body till night then I will come for you” Balto nods just then the forest starts to swirl and he watches as his mother and the forest disappear. Balto hears “Balto” he looks around and notices he is back in Nome and the he hears “Balto” he looks at Jenna and says “what” she looks at him with concern in her eyes and she replies “is something wrong” he replies “no why” she replies “well you just stopped walking and it was like your body was frozen I looked into your eyes and saw no life in them” Balto heard this and thought “I must have been out of my body when I was talking to my mother” a chill ran through Balto’s body as he remembered at what his mother had said “you have use of your body till night then I will come for you” Balto looked at the sun and noticed it was setting then he looks at Jenna and says “lets go home I am tired” she nods they make their way back to Rosies house.

Balto lays down next to Jenna and watches as she falls asleep just then Balto lost feeling in his limbs he tries to move them but he cannot, he feels the numbness spreads through his body his thoughts become fuzzy and then his heart explodes in pain he screams but no sound comes out of his mouth the room starts to spin. He tries to move any part of his body but he can’t he tries as hard as he can finally he manages to lift one of his paws and then he becomes tired then the room spins out of focus then blackness envelopes his vision.

The next he knows he is looking at himself his body rigid and his body’s head is lifted his eyes are glazed then all of a sudden his head falls to the ground. He looks at his body laying there and then he looks at Jenna he tries to touch her but his paw goes right through her, he looks at himself in a mirror and sees he is translucent he lays next to his body and tries desperately to get back into his body and live again but fails each time just then he hears a voice from behind him saying “It is no use my son” he turns around and sees his mother and he says “is death always this painful” she replies “yes” he gets up and walks over to her and says “I cannot leave Jenna” Aniu says “her time is coming she will be with you soon” he nods then he looks back at Jenna for one last time and says “till the end of our lives I will always love you but I will go on ahead and wait for you” and then Balto feels more youthful he feels strength he has not felt in years return and he says “I am ready for another adventure” Balto watches as Jenna and the room spin then there is nothing but a feeling of peace and love that envelopes him.

Jenna wakes up the next day and says “good morning Balto” she looks at him and nuzzles him she feels the coldness under her muzzle and says “Balto” she cocks one ear and places it on his chest she hears no heartbeat and no breathing. Jenna’s eyes start to well up with tears she howls over Balto’s body. Later that day Rosie and her family came in and found Balto dead they buried him in the back yard and Jenna couldn’t watch as they did this she ran out of the house and into the street and didn’t notice the car. The car hit her and her body through flew the air and landed in the snow with a thud Jenna's vision swirled into blackness she says "Balto" her heart beat slows then fades away Jenna watches as a crowd of people was gathering around something she walked through the crowd and saw what they were looking at it was her! Jenna jumped back in fear as she saw her body laying in the snow bleeding heavily from the chest all of a sudden a light burst forth from above her and saw Balto in it she says “Balto” a feeling of love surrounds her and then she enters the light and the light disappears. Jenna and Balto watch from heaven as the crowd of humans disappears from view Jenna looks at Balto and notices he looks as youthful as he was when she first meet him he says “like I said I will always love you” Jenna nuzzles him and they look away from the humans and towards the sun coming over the tops of the clouds.
