Winged Worriers

Winged Worriers

“Go, go!” One wolf yelled at another.

“I can’t, my paw is stuck! Go on with out me!” the other wolf yelled back.

“No, I can’t leave you!”

A bomb blew up right beside the two wolves.

“Iceberg, leave now you must!” Iceberg was a female wolf with the spirit of an eagle. She was the most powerful female wolf in the army. She was pure white with a black tail.

“No! I could never leave you Varian! You are my best friend.”

Another bomb blew up in front of the pair. Varian gazed at Iceberg. It was too late. Varian’s life less body was in a ditch that thousands of worriers had dug. The bomb had hit his face, just barely hitting Iceberg. Iceberg ran away on her fore legs crying. Her bow and arrow were on her back.

She was running with fear and sadness. A human came out from behind a bush and shot his gun. Iceberg heard it and dove for cover. She quickly got her bow and arrow. Iceberg put the arrow on the bow and she put the bow on the ground with part of it caught on the ground. She pulled back and let go. The arrow went right to his heart and killed him. Iceberg kept running to the base. The armor on her paws was scraping away her skin to reveal blood.

Why must humans and wolves fight? Wolves and animals will win!! Iceberg thought to her self. Another human came out from the ditch. Iceberg saw him and ran away faster then a bullet.

“Iceberg, we thought we lost you!” The sergeant said. The young wolf was running for a long time before she got to headquarters.

“I need water.” Iceberg managed to gasp.

“You’re seriously dehydrated! What have you been doing for the past few hours? You’re going to die if you keep doing that. You shouldn’t do that anymore! You’re going to die if you keep doing that! Wait, didn’t I just say that? Ohh well…” he blabbed.

“Ohh, shut up. Please get me something to drink.” Iceberg gasped.

One of the wolves, named Gabby, got her a bowl of water. Ice berg quickly stood up and lapped up the water.

“Where is Varian? He should have been here by now.”

Iceberg looked up at the sergeant, Somerin, with worried eyes full of pain.

“We will never see him again. He… he… died, trying to save me.”

“How?” Somerin asked with curiosity in his mind.

“I got trapped by humans, and he came in and saved me. Varian was so brave to get me out of there.”

“How did you get in there the first place?” one wolf asked.

Iceberg looked at him.

“Long story. Besides, he has never done anything for me like that.” Iceberg confessed.

“You don’t know do you? Varian never told you did he?” a wolf named Buster told her.

“Didn’t know what?” Iceberg asked suspiciously.

“He has always liked you. Better than a friend. I thought he would have told you that before he died.” Buster told her.

“No, he never told me. Why would he tell me?” Iceberg wept.

Suddenly, all of the wolves heard scratching at the front of the large den. A grey and white wolf stumbled down the tunnel. It was Varian.

“Varian, I thought you were dead.” Iceberg said speechlessly to her friend.

“No, right when you left, a human came to me and gave me this green liquid that healed me.” Varian told her.

“A human?!? Humans are our enemy. Why would you ever trust one?” Iceberg growled.

“Hey, he saved me! If it weren’t for that human I would not be here.”

“I know…” Iceberg said

“And why are you laying on the ground Iceberg?”

“Serious dehydration.” Iceberg gasped again.

The white wolf got up and lapped up some more water. Varian went up to Iceberg and licked her cheek. Iceberg was blushing with embarrassment. Iceberg got up and tried to move. Her muscles were screaming at her to lie down again. Varian turned around to go out the door again.

“Where are you going?” Somerin asked Varian.

He looked back and the sergeant.

“I’m healed, I… I have to go now to fight for us animals. I have to go and die trying. You should be doing the same!!” Varian told them.

“Well… we should be out there, but we also have to be in base to control everything in here.”

“Nothing happened here. I’m leaving.” Varian said.

Iceberg looked up and saw Varian go away.

“I’m going to.” She got up and ran after him.

The two wolves walked until they hit the edge of the forest. Humans were in the forest waiting for them.

“Well, now what do we do Iceberg?”

“Why are you asking me?”

“Well, you parole these grounds continually. You should know what the best position is.” Varian explained.

“Well, too tell you the truth; I have no idea what to go to.”

“So… what do we do?”

“We live up to our name, we are Winged Worriers!” Iceberg told him.

They ran into the forest with pride and joy.

Iceburg and Verian seem like a good pair. I guess I'm the
first to review, hunh? I thought this story was great!
Also, the way you left the end like that, it got me thinkin'
about what they did, what they are going to do, who's going
to win the war! You should make a sequel!
