A ONE, WOLF PACK
‘A baby wolf separated from its pack finds its way into a different life style with
Wolverines, but when it grows up it has difficulties running into its old family and protecting his new ones from them…other events occurs during this story’
The baby timber wolf ran and ran; he wouldn’t stop. His little heart pounding away, but he didn’t give up; he kept running until he reached a sooty hole within the deep dry earth that the little wolf managed to squeeze himself into. The deadly creature ran to a halt at the holes entrance. The animal sniffed around the area for a minute or two, and gave the deep hole a dark look before turning away.
The baby cub, just beginning to catch his breath, took a risky peek out of the rabbit sized hole. The coast was clear, but the murky fog gave the cub a sense that he still wasn’t safe. He crept back down into the depths of the hole were he felt secure for at least the night to come.
In the morning, a little fluffed up cub emerged from the hole and stretched his small, lanky arms from a full nights sleep. Then the little cub came back into reality and wondered where to go from there. Kiro heard a wolf howl in the distance that sounded like his mother, but not knowing where it was coming from he was the right turned the opposite way and plodded slowly into the deep snowed in forest. He wandered deep into the dangerous forest were grown predators could snatch him in a flash from the darkness, but he didn’t realise this as he had just lost contact with his family from being chased away by a certain wolf into a dark hole.
It was already midday when he reached the very middle of the forest. He stopped and sat down on some damp, dead leaves where he rested a little and began to feel hungry. After around five minutes, he was beginning to feel sleepy again and was nodding off slowly when he saw a little movement from out the corner of his eye. Kiro swerved his head to the side immediately, and found himself staring at a fully-grown wolverine. His ears flattened and the pupils in his blue eyes slid to the size of peppercorns. The wolverine growled from five metres away, and the soft hairs on its back shot up into thousands of spikes. It slowly walked over to him, still growling, but the wolf cub didn’t move an inch, as he was so terrified. The wolverine was an inch away, and then strangely, stopped growling. It started to sniff the cub for identity, then pulled itself away to look at him better. Kiro was confused and his heart skipped a few heartbeats in terror. The wolverine suddenly grabbed the Kiro’s lose skin on his neck and carried him away into the distance.
After about five minutes of knocking about during the wolverines run, the cub was plopped onto the floor with a bump. Several other wolverines gathered around him. Again, the cub’s ears flattened and the hair along his spine began to rustle up. One, jet-black wolverine stepped up to him and sat down beside him. She started grooming the cub as if he were her own. Kiro, while being groomed, glared at the wolverines, yet there faces seemed to be gentle. After a while, the wolverines brought the cub some lunch. A white rabbit, that the dropped between his two front paws. The cub was confused, but being so hungry, tucked in to the free meal.
The next day the little cub woke up in a stack of soft leafs that hadn’t been touched by a drop of water and had another rabbit for breakfast, two wolverine cubs were play fighting next to a pine tree, as Kiro rose out of the stack of autumn leaves the cub wolverines noticed him and his breakfast, the bounded over to him and was just about to take a bite out of the rabbit when the other cub started to growl at it, then they got back into the routine of there fight, the wolf cub was extremely confused and hungry, he slid the rabbit into his mouth and took off away from the wolverine cubs. As he ran the wolverine cubs noticed and sped after him, he suddenly stopped in front of the jet black wolverine that groomed him the other day, his ears flattened and his hair began to rise again but the two wolverine cubs were still after him, and his instincts told him to run behind the big wolverine as he did. The grown up looked and the two cubs and growled a warning, then turned around and nuzzled the wolf cub’s rabbit, meaning she wanted a bit in a polite way, the wolf cub looked at her then slowly lowed it to the ground and took a step back.
Later on that day Kiro felt more secure with the wolverines, it began to actually play with the cubs, and after a while he had fights over the meals with grown ups, he was settling in quite nicely with this breed, but the only trouble he had was at night when he could hear wolf howls, not from his family but from local wolves.
Two years later…
The forest hadn’t changed slightly but the creatures from two years ago were fully grown happy mammals running around and resting within the breezy forest the Kiro was no longer a cub but a fully grown strong male wolf, and was extremely protective when it came to his family. He had a reputation around the forest for how aggressive he may get, but his family were wolverines, and growing up with wolverines you have to be aggressive.
Kiro hadn’t bumped into any wolves since his separation, but at night he sometimes joined in with the midnight howling just to make him feel better.
The next morning he went out to hunt alone, (as wolverines do) just out at the edge of the pine forest. He caught his eye on a baby caribou concentrating hard on the insignificant animal of where to pounce and what position to pounce in, but in the corner of his eye he saw movement, he quickly focused his eye into the distance to find himself staring at a timber wolf pack, he looked closer at them and realised it was HIS wolf pack, his tail swished in between his legs as he saw them spot him and in a flash a galloped back into his dark forest. When he had ran a quarter of a mile or so he stopped to let his chest pound and regain strength, but after a few minutes he became alert again and the second he stuck up his perky ears he heard the wolf pack tracking after him. Kiro suddenly legged it into a hole in a near by tree and managed to squeeze himself into it…he waited until the sound of crunching leaves was gone from the wolves running and then a bit afterwards. He climbed out of the hole onto the soft soil layered with a couple of dead leaves, he looked forward to find his wolf pack sitting and laying on the ground waiting for him to come out, he froze stiff and didn’t intend to make the first move, a grey wolf came forward with brown patched legs and started to groom her son, he immediately recognised her but still didn’t move an inch from his position apart from his eyes following her every move. Then feeling more comfortable than a second ago he sat down and tilted his head to the side to make it easier for his mum to groom. He heard a soft bark from one of the wolf members, it was his childhood friend ‘sapphire’ he took off from the ground during his mum’s quality time and bounded over to see her, he nuzzled her gently on her think winter coat twisting around her neck, which instinctively she joined in with, then Kiro greeted all of the other wolf members apart from his farther who was a stubborn creature that always hated him, but after hearing the wolverines (his 2nd family) he took off into the distance away from his pack, he stopped to see them furiously wagging his tail which you could only see as a blur, and started licking his adoption mother’s head fur which stuck up from her head, none of the knew why he was so happy but seeing his pack (especially ‘sapphire’ again) put a smile on his face but then he herd a loud rushing sound coming from behind him , he swerved his head around to find his pack viciously charging at the wolverines and his farther being in the lead, Kiro panicked not knowing what to do, but as young as he was he was outstandingly aggressive. He leaped in front of his adopted family and growled vicariously at his distant pack, most of the wolves seeing this slowed down and stopped all together but his farther and a couple of male wolves didn’t stop until the got within five meters of Kiro, the others in the wolf pack thought the wolverines were enemies but seeing Kiro defend them they stopped. Kiro and his farther face to face began to growl and show the deadly white stabber teeth, threatening each other, the wolverines and wolf pack got tense thinking they knew what was going to happen. Kiro made the first move and threw himself at his dad’s neck and clamping his teeth into his thick fur, his dad trying to shake him off clawed repeatedly at his arm the 5 other male wolves thought this might be a signal to attack the wolverines so they made a move, the only creatures that weren’t fighting was Kiro’s mum, ‘sapphire and another female. After 4 minutes of fighting Kiro and his dad stopped to regain there breath and Kiro took this opportunity to lick his wounds, while Kiro was distracted his farther took a leap at him and knocked him to the ground, with struggle he began to get back onto his feet again and lift his right paw up that’d had curs and teeth stabs all over…his father took another leap at him, but Kiro quickly ducked before his dad reached his aime and tumbled over behind Kiro, Kiro stood over his bleeding farther and ravaged his neck with his steel teeth, everyone stopped fighting as Kiro took his head away from the dead black wolf and starred at kiro for a second or two until the walked up to his and started to groom him. Sapphire ran through the pack up to him and personally licked his bruised cuts to

Very good story, but I would pay attention to run on sentences, and I think dialogue would make it more interesting. I'm not trying to be mean, just offering suggestions. Overall, it was great! Are you going to write a sequel? |
shouldn't it be a PG?
