Tessa grumbled as she walked past Twilight outside at the beach. It was getting colder and the slightest bit of snow covered the ground. Tessa saw Dash and ran over to him. She friendship nuzzled him and he nuzzled back. Tessa really liked him and she was positive that he liked her. They were beginning to be really good friends. Dash had asked Tessa to meet him at the beach.

Tessa was certain that he wanted to tell her that he wanted to be HER mate. She smiled at him and reminded him that he asked her to meet him. He said, "Yea. I was wondering if you would be able to tell Twilight that we have to cancel. Tell her because my grandmother is sick and I have to go help her get better. Tell her that I am really sorry." Then Dash ran off into the other direction.

Tessa wasn't quite sure what just happened. She stomped home, cursing to herself. She stormed through the door and yelled at Twilight, "DASH CANCELED OUT!" Twilight looked shocked the shook her head. "You're kidding right?" Tessa shook her head and replied, "He has to help his sick grandma." Tessa ran up the stairs, mad. Twilight couldn't believe what she just heard. Dash canceled out!?!? Twilight decided that Tessa was probably telling her this so that it would seem as if Twilight stood him up.

So Twilight walked to the beach. She waited. And waited. And waited. But Dash didn't show up. Maybe Tessa was right. Maybe Dash had to help his sick grandmother. Twilight didn't know what to think so she stormed home. "TESSA!" Twilight called. Tessa clomped down the stairs. "What?" She snapped. Twilight growled and said, "Never mind."

She ran up the stairs. She looked at her wall. A picture of Dash hung on the wall. Tessa had one too. Twilight felt a tear run down her cheek. She thought, Dash? Are you ever going to choose? Then Twilight fell into a deep sleep. She dremt that Dash had chosen her and they had 4 beautiful pups.

The next morning, Twilight, woke up, feeling happy, and perky because of her dream. Tessa saw her and glared at her. Twilight looked at her but kept smiling. She thought that this was the day. The day that Dash was going to choose. So throughout the day, Twilight kept smiling and walked as close to Dash as she could. But he never said anything. Finally, Twilight gave up. Thinking that he might never choose.

Since it was only lunch, Twilight ate with Tessa, not even glancing at her. When they finished, they raced out the door. Both wanted to have the honour of being Dash's mate, but both didn't know that Dash had already chosen. The girls pushed and shoved until they got to the beach. Twilight dove into the water, making her white fur, glimmer in the sunlight. Tessa laughed and lay down, making her coat shine. Dash glanced at them, smiling. He took a step towards Tessa but then changed his pace to go towards Twilight. Tessa gasped and growled.  

Tessa got up and started to follow Dash, when she stopped.  She gasped in shock when Dash whispered to tell Twilight something.Twilight gaspes and nods. She kissed Dash. Tessa gasped and realized what must have happened. Dash chose her.

Dash walked back over to Tessa. "Tessa..." He began. Tessa held a paw up to his muzzle. "Yea. I know what you are going to say." Tessa replied quietly. Dash nuzzles Tessa and askes, "What are you doing this for? I mean, you did choose..." Dash stops her and touches her nose. "I know that you know what I did, but I DID meet Twilight first. And I guess for me it is love at first site. I am really sorry Tessa." Dash explains as he walks away.

A tear rolls down Tessa's cheek, but she hold in the last few. Dash walked to Twilight, nuzzling her. Twilight looked back at Tessa, smiling. She mouths the words, "Sorry."

Tessa growled and she knew, that one day very soon, she will get Twilight back.
