The Fox:A cunning trickster.The Wolverine: Your Fears.The Bear: Inner knowing.Caribou: Life.The Wolf...""AWOOOO!"Aniu looked up to see her pack standing around her.She looked down at her pups.They whined as they bumped into each other.Her little boy pup was sitting in her paws wimpering.She licked his tiny head and he smiled as he tried to open his eyes.After many atempts he went to sleep.She nuzzled his head."My little pup."

The next day she was hungry so she left the pups sleeping in the den as she went out on to the grass.She smelled the freash air.She looked down on the little town below.A crack made her turn around and run back to the den.She gasped when she saw humans picking up each one of her tiny pups and putting them in a brown bag.She ran at them and jumped on the one with the bag.She bit the humans arm and it screamed.Another human kicked her and she fell to the cave floor.She opened her eyes to see one of her tiny pups at the very back of the cave.She jumped at the humans again and knocked them down.She looked around for the bag of pups.She heard a bang and fell to the ground.Blood was sqiurting from her leg.The humans ran off with the bag of pups in hand.She knew they would be back to see if she had died and then take her fur.She limped over to crying pup and grabbed him and hopped out the cave.She limped down the hill to the town.She found a boat so she hopped in there and put him down under a small cloth.She nuzzled his head as a tear streamed down her face.She looked at him as his eyes finally opened and looked at her.He smiled and barked at her."I love you."She licked his head and ran away from the boat leaving him alone.

The pup cried for two days as he was hungry and lonley.But one day geese were flying over the town and one goose, Boris, fell from the sky."I am not afraid of flying!"Boris yelled shaking his wing at the other geese flying away.He sighed because he knew he was afraid of flying.He lifted his head up because he heard a small noise.He went to investigate the sound and ended up finding the crying baby wolf.He found some water and gave it to the wolf.He smiled at the goose.Boris smiled and vowed he would take care of Balto.

A few months later the pup was up and running."Morning Uncle Boris!"he yelled at the goose.

"AHH!So much noise!"he said waking up.The pup ran around Boris."Come on Uncle Boris lets go into town!"

"How can we go into town when you won't sit nowhere?"the pup stopped."Thats anywhere Uncle Boris!"Boris frowned as the pup moved toward the door."No no no!I hate going into town!"

"Come whats the worst that could happen?"the pup said as he pulled Boris off the boat and towards town."How do you talk me into these things?"Boris said as he and the pup walked to the town.They quietly walked around the buildings.They stopped in an alleyway to watch the butcher man putting the meat in his store.Boris was watching something else and did'nt notice the pup sneaking over to the butcher shop.He sniffed the meat and jumped up to grab some put all the boxes fell on the tiny pup and he ran away with meat in his mouth.The buter came out running and cursing at the pup.Boris just watched in amazment.The pup turned the corner and slipped in the snow banging into someone.The meat flew in a different direction as the pup fell.He jumped up and hid behind a barrell.The butcher ran by picked up the meat and patted the dog that the pup had run into."Good girl Jenna"and he walked away.The pup came out from hiding and walked over to the dog named Jenna.With his tail between his legs and his ears down he said hi.She turned around to look at him.She was very pretty with her brown eyes and eyelashes."Hello,"she said sweetly."I'm Jenna whats your name?"

"Its uh,"he studdered.She giggled and flashed her eyeslashes at him.He swallowed hard."Jenna sweet heart!"a yellow husky said."Come along dear you can play with your friend later."Jenna playfuly licked the pup's nose and ran off to her mothers side.The pup could just melt right there.

His attention turned to a few other pups playing in the snow.He ran over to them excited because he wanted to play too."Can I play?"he asked them.They stopped and stared at him.The black and white pup walked up to the pup."Who are you?"he asked the pup.

"I'm uh I dunno know my name. I live with my Uncle Boris.He's a goose!"the pup said happily.The four pups busrt out laughing."Uh whats your names?"the pup asked them.

"I'm Steele the fastest dog around here!"the black and white pup said."This is Nikki,Kaltag and Star."The pup smiled at them."Your the fastest dog in town?"he asked Steele.Steele snorted like he had never heard anyone say that to him."Ya you wanna bet?Me and you!"and he walked to a starting line.The pup jumped at the chance to race.Kaltag shouted go and the two canines raced.The pup had never felt so alive.He raced past Steele and crossed the finish line in no time at all."That was fun lets do it again!"the pup said not tired at all.Steele was breathing heavily and was glaring at the pup."Why don't you get outta here wolf!"The pup was confused what was a wolf?"A wolf?I'm a dog!"the pup said.The pups started laughing again."Hey call to your pack like this,ARRRWWOOO!"Steele laughed.The pup went into his memories and found the sound of a wolf.The four pups walked away howling and laughing."A wolf?Why did'nt anyone tell me?!"the pup said kicking the snow angerliy.Boris waddled over and said,"I hate humans."The pup just glared at him and ran off.

From his boat the town was so small to the pup but now it was much to big for him.He sniffed as a tear fell from his eye.He was a pup and he missed his mother.Her soft white fur and her warm voice.His ears perked up when he heard dogs barking.He jumped off the boat and toward the sound.He ended up in town behind the mail office.He found a team of dogs.Each dog was tied to a large brown tree that was cut into some sort of thing.The pup heard a human call it a "sled".Soon a human came out the mail office and put a bag on the "sled"."YA!"he yelled and the dogs pulled the "sled".It was beautiful to the pup as it glided over the snow and he knew that he wanted to do that.

A few more months later the pup had grown into a handsome teen.One morning he was sleeping on the boat and it was early morning.His eyes opened to find two white puff balls in front of him."AHH!"he screamed.The two puff balls walked towards him."This must be the pup,"the smallest one said.He backed up."Who are you?How do you know my name?"he said.The puff balls laughed."I am Muk and this is Luk.We're polar bears,"Muk said.Luk just nodded."Have you seen Uncle Boris?"Muk asked.He walked up to them."Uh no."The bears smiled and walked away shouting, "UNCLE BORIS!"He stretched and started off towards town.He walked past the stores that had not yet opened.The town was deserted.He stopped at a small house and then he sat down and wached it from behind a barell.The door opened a the beautiful Jenna apeared.She shook her fur and trotted down the street.He swallowed and walked in the shadows his tail down,his ears down.Jenna stopped and said,"hello."He walked out to meet her and said,"Uh hi Jenna."A little girl came running out the house and rapped her arms around Jenna.He backed up ready to walk away but the little girl ran over and pet him.He licked her hand and she giggled."I'm gonna call you Balto!"she said.He had a name he thought.The little girl hugged him and Jenna."Rosy come on!"her father said and Rosy ran off.

"So you finally have a name,"Jenna said.Balto smiled."Yep."Suddenly Balto fell into the snow.He got up and turned around to see a much older Steele.He smirked and said,"You got a name yet?"

"Ya I do,"Balto said angerliy."Its Balto."Steele burst out laughing."Steele what is the matter with you?Balto is a wonderful name and he got it from my girl so just lay off him okay?"Jenna yelled.Steele looked really scared."Your right Jenna.I was only thinking of myself."Jenna backed off."So Jenna I just got put on the sled dog team as lead dog.Why don't we go celebrate?"Steele said.

Rosy yelled,"Jenna come on girl!"Jenna turned her back on Steele."I'm sorry Stelle my girl is calling me."She licked Balto's nose playfuly and then ran off.Steele was furious and he ran off.Balto,very proud of his new name,smiled as he watched Jenna walk away.

Through Balto's teen years he stayed around Jenna until one day when he just stopped seeing her because she had new friends that did not approve of him at all.The town started to hate him for stealing food and water.But whenever he would think of Jenna his heart would soar.
