my step-mother was a human, I was human. For years I started to remember being a wolf, seeing things through eyes of another. I’m an artist so I drew and painted the things I saw, I remember you, and other wolfs here, and landscapes around here. Two months ago I came out to find these places, one night I sang a song, the next morning I was this, a wolf. I finally felt at peace with myself, so I’ve been alone treading to find those places and stay here. Humans will hunt me, they think Naga the human was killed by wolves, I let them think that but if they hurt a wolf to avenge me then I’ll have no choice but to hurt them,” he said. The wolves whispered and didn’t know what to believe.
“What song?” asked Miya’s father.
“What’s the point,” he said. “That is what the song’s called.”
“Yes, it says if you believe in your heart and sing that song you’ll become who you were or are,” he said and nodded the pack nodded.
“Please stay,” Miya said.
“Okay, hey can I get my book it has all my pictures in it,” said Naga.
“Sure,” said Miya “This is my father, Karl, This is Joshua, Helen, Dojo …” she said saying all there names.
Naga left and got his book he returned rather swiftly. When he opened them, the pack widened their eyes to see the paintings and drawing, Naga had done. Then an unfamiliar wolf came out of no wear. He was black, all black with but little white on his belly.
“Naga this is Nazareth, Nazareth this is Naga, our newest member,” said Miya.
He ignored Naga but Naga shrugged. Nazareth was told the story and while at night Naga couldn’t sleep, Nazareth got up.
“Huh, stay away from Miya, she’s my mate,” he snapped.
“I don’t want a mate, just friends and a pack,” Naga said. Nazareth growled and walked off.
Naga looked out up onto the moon, he was home finally.
Chapter five
Naga had settled in and had become quite popular with the pack. He felt stronger as he had Caribou as well as rabbit. Nazareth wasn’t the kindest of wolves but he could help you at times. He was more a wolf that liked to be alone, while everyone else liked to be with others.
Though one day it seemed different, he was friendlier than usual. He came up and remarked how you looked; he even called Naga by his name. Nazareth normally called Naga, the human wolf; he did this too many wolves in the pack. He gave them weird and maybe rude nicknames except Miya and her father.
“Naga, you did some class A hunting yesterday, we wouldn’t of got the Caribou down without,” complimented Nazareth.
“Thanks,” said Naga, when Nazareth walked away. “I think,” he whispered. But he liked the friendly Nazareth, much better than the mean one.
Suddenly they heard a scream, it echoed through out the mountains. “Miya,” whispered Naga. “Miya!” he shouted and the pack went crazy. They ran and Naga started to climb where he heard her scream, the pack watched him and also tried but they slipped down.
Naga stopped on a ledge to have a breather, he panted looked up and started to climb. But something grabbed his tail, it was Nazareth.
“I’ll save her human wolf,” he said and smashed his paw into Naga’s face.
“You’re worrying who’s saving her and not her safety,” he snapped and growled.
“Fight like a wolf,” Nazareth said and smashed his paw again onto Naga’s face. It throbbed but Naga got up, Miya screamed again.
“I don’t have time for this,” Naga said and started to climb again, he was too fast for Nazareth to catch.
He got up and saw a huge grizzly bear; it was trying to get Miya. She was trying to get it down herself but it kept coming back. It already looked badly wounded, Miya though got it on its leg but she was flung off. It was about swipe her but Naga smashed into it and it fell to one side. It scrambled up and roared; Naga head butted it, and bite its ear. Naga was flipped off and made his final move but Nazareth smashed him away, he landed on the floor. Nazareth bit the bear on its leg and bear staggered backwards and fell over the edge.
They went down and Naga staggered after them. Miya said her thanks to Nazareth, then Naga come up to him.
“Do you know how dangerous that was?” Naga said.
“What do you mean?”
“Pushing me while taking on a fully grown bear, is really dangerous you could have killed us both and left Miya alone with it, when you’re doing something like what I did, leave your racists thoughts and let what’s best for Miya’s safety not your one judgement,” Naga said and walked through to leave the pack with Nazareth, he could hear them complimenting him.
Chapter six
Naga was unsure to return but he did by night, he lay near the edge of the cliff.
“Thanks for saving me,” Miya said, she came up beside him.
“Your welcome,” said Naga.
“If Nazareth hadn’t pushed you, you would have taken it down,” she said.
“Nazareth likes you, you know,” said Naga.
“I know, dad says he’s a good mate for me, his cousin is a clan leader so he everyone believe he’s got good wolf blood,” she said and looked at Naga; Naga was sad and looked out at a star. “That’s a beautiful star, was that the star you wished on?”
“No, that star, I used to look up to it when I was a human, it told me what to do next, it’s like my star, but it no longer talks to me anymore. I try to talk to it but it ignores me. I’m trying to find a star, that talks to me but so far none, all of them are silent,” Naga explained.
“Some animals call it the human star, there are others too. There are stars for bears and birds, wolves too, you just have to look hard. That star no longer can talk to you because it cannot understand you, your wolf now not human,” Miya said, she sloped back to the pack.
“What is my blood then, human or wolf?” asked Naga.
“I don’t know,” Miya replied.
By morning everyone had forgot about the bear, Naga hadn’t. Just because he used to be human, he was hated by Nazareth.
He made his way towards the mountain where the bear was killed. He looked down, he couldn’t see the bear. There was no bear cave on the mountain so why was the bear here? He shook his head and went back.
That night when Naga was dreaming, he was still trying to figure out why the bear was here. Then he saw many animals, bear, deer, wolf and birds, they were angry, he could feel their hatred. Then he saw them stampeding where that was, were unknown to Naga. It changed; he could hear someone laughing then many more laughing, then loud screams. He woke up with a fright; he looked down the cliff, nothing there. He then looked up to see the stars twinkling, he sighed and then he saw a bright star. It twinkled at Naga, Naga stepped backwards.
“The stampede caused the bear to come here?” he asked himself, the star did not reply. “Maybe not,” he thought. He wondered for a second who was laughing, and who was screaming. Then he thought, that just a dream, not a real life thing. So he fell back on the ground and fell asleep.
Chapter seven
Naga kept having the same dream, nothing changed. Naga was starting to think he was going crazy, but he knew he should tell the pack.
“What’s was wrong wolf human? Feel like hunting us?” growled Nazareth.
“Nothing and no, I just feel danger,” Naga snapped back.
“Go home,” said Nazareth.
“What do you mean you sense danger?” asked Karl.
“I keep having dreams,” replied Naga.
“Tell us of your dreams,” said Karl and Nazareth snarled quietly.
“I see a stampede of many animals, bears and wolves, birds and deer. They were going somewhere I don’t know where, then I hear some laughing and others screaming. I don’t know what it means,” said Naga. Karl thought for a second and nodded.
“Keep a close eye on the others here,” Karl said to the pack.
That night Naga had the dream again but it was different. He could hear the animals speak.
“The humans must die, even if it means killing ourselves,” said one of the animals. Then they nodded and they started to stampede.
He heard the laughing again and then he could hear the scream; he looked up and saw it was Miya screaming. He stared for a while, were the animals heading this way, and what should he do?
He woke up again and sighed, danger really was heading this way. In the morning, Karl looked at Naga.
“Did you have more of the dream?” he asked and the pack stopped what they were doing and came over to Naga.
“Yes, I heard the animals speak, they said the humans must die, and then they started to stampede. I think they’re going to stampede through here,” Naga said and the pack gasped. Naga didn’t want to say Miya was screaming.
“Then we’ll move to higher ground, tomorrow,” said
