Kirby sat on top of the cliff Kiara had left him on. A week ago Kiara left to lead a wolf pack to their territory.

 

Kirby fell onto the cold stone ground of the cliff and began sobbing. It finally hit him. She was gone. And he had almost an impossible chance to get her back. He visited the cliff every night and slept there. Kodi then found him.

 

“Kirby! Your owner has been worried sick!...” Kirby didn’t budge.

 

“Kirby? You okay?”

 

Kirby then turned to him.

 

“What! What do you want!?!” He snapped.

 

“Whoa Kirby! What’s wrong?”

 

“Your sister… She’s gone for good.”

 

“Kiara?... Oh… you really loved her… didn’t you…”

 

“C’mon Kirby… We’ll talk about it tomorrow okay?” He said helping Kirby up.

 

“Okay… Thanks.”

 

A long time passed Kirby was still sad about Kiara but he wouldn’t just burst out like he used to. The dogs were still adolescent but they were a bit older then before.

 

The mail team was playing in the boiler room when Kirby felt a strong tug on his collar that pulled him out.

 

A huge red wolf stood above him.

 

“He-hello… Do I know you?” He asked nervously.

 

“Oh I know you. And you know me. Kirby, lead of the mail team.” The she-wolf said.

 

“Ugh. Your voice… It’s so familiar… I just can’t remember you…” He growled.

 

“Maybe I can help you with that.”

 

Then she leaned forward to him and slowly licked his cheek.

 

“Kiara…?... KIARA!” He shouted in joy.

 

“Oh Kirby! I’m so glad to see you again!” Kiara said as the two happy canines nuzzled.

 

“You look so different. I thought you were a wolf.”

 

“Not so pretty eh? “ She laughed.

 

“That’s what you get for staying in the wild for 7 months.”

 

“Wait… But how did you come back?” Kirby asked.

 

“I couldn’t stay… So I gave up my part to another wolf who was worthy of it.”

 

“Why? You could’ve been great…”

 

“I missed you… too much. It was tearing me apart…”

 

“oh boy… Kiara you didn’t have to do that for me…”

 

“That doesn’t matter now. I’m back.” She nuzzled him then pinned him to the ground and giggled. Their noses touched and Kirby smiled. Then Dusty came out.

 

“Hey what’s going on out here!” The sled team followed her.

 

“Hey! Hey you! Get off of him!” Kodi snapped at Kiara who just playfully pinned Kirby.

 

She walked up to Kodi.

“Ugh. How do you not notice me? Your own sister…?” She growled.

 

“Kiara?...”

 

“No it’s Aleu…” She said sarcastically.

 

“Idiot.” She laughed.

 

 

Then Kiara told them everything about coming back, and the wild and her adventures.

 

“I gotta tell mom and dad!” She barked happily. Then she ran to Balto’s boat to see a sleeping Balto.

 

“Papa! Papa!”

 

“huh…? Saba…?”

 

“No Kiara!” She grinned.

 

“Kiara!? KIARA!” He quickly got up and nuzzled her.

 

“Where’s momma?”

 

“At Rosie’s. I’ll go get her.”

 

In a couple of minutes Balto’s boat was filled with friends and family. Kiara found out the good news that she would soon be an older sister.

 

Two weeks passed since she came home and her and the sled team were playing.. When she heard her mother’s cry.

 

“The pups.” Kiara said.

 

“WHAT!?” Ralph panicked

 

Kiara and the team ran to Balto’s boat and saw Jenna laying on the ground with Balto beside her.

“Guys I know what to do. It’s way too late to bring her to the vet’s so just get Rosie’s parents here or something.”

 

“Kodi you get her parents. Dusty, get your owners to get you towels or rags as fast as possible… although in the pack we used leaves but… who cares.. Just go… Kirby, your fast… Get water.” She said quickly.

 

“Whadda bout’ me!?” Ralph asked quick.

 

“Keep her calm. You too Papa.”

 

As soon as all the supplies were there Kiara started. Kodi was still trying to get Rosie’s parents.

 

“Alright at the count of three push. One… two… three!” Ralph immediately fainted.

 

Then the pups were delivered. One was pure white with blue eyes. She was female. Balto named her after her mother Aniu. Then a red and white pup with green eyes was last. She was named Katara.

 

Ralph was up a few minutes after Rosie’s parents got to the boat.

 

“Are you coming in or are you going to faint again?” Dusty asked.

 

Ralph nodded and walked in. Jenna was taken to the vet a while after with her pups. Kiara and the team walked out.

 

“Weren’t you scared though?” Kirby asked Kiara.

 

“No. I helped deliver many puppies back in the wild.” She grinned.

 

“It must be a great feeling to have pups.”

 

“Yeah I can’t wait till I’m older to have my own.” Kiara smiled up at the sky.

 

Kirby just smiled too. Then suddenly a gunshot rang out. Brianna’s owner…

 

It was heading for Kirby!

 

Kiara leaped in front of Kirby and got shot. Kiara screamed in pain and fell onto the ground and stained the snow with her blood.

 

“Kiara! No! Kiara!” Kirby screamed.

 

“Shhh… Kirby… Whatever happens… I…. I’ll… Always… Love you.” Then her eyes closed.

 

She was gone.

 

A huge bright light. Kiara ran. And ran then she met up with Aniu.

 

“Please… No not now… no! I’m too young! Give me another chance! Please! I want to die with Kirby! I don’t want to die now!” She begged the White wolf.

 

“PLEASE! I love him! I want to start a family with him I want to be with him until I die! I Don’t want to die like this! Please… Please grandmama… Plea-“ BOOM. She woke up at the vets office. All the vets were around her.

 

Did they shock her awake? Or was it Aniu?

 

“She’s one lucky, lucky, pup.”  She heard a man say.

 

Then she heard scratching on the door.

 

The vets turned and saw the sled team, Rosie’s owners, Kodi’s owners, and Balto.

 

 

“You can come in.”

 

 

Then Kirby ran straight in and licked Kiara’s face. Kiara smiled weakly. After the vets fixed her up and stitched her wounds.

 

In a month she was fully healed.

 

Kirby and Kiara went for a stroll alone in the woods.

 

“Kiara I love you and… I was wondering… If you wanted to be my mate.” He asked.

 

“Your going to say no right…? I mean… Your part wolf and I’m just a dog and what will…”

 

Then she kissed him passionately, but quick.

 

“You worry too much.” She whispered in his ear.

 

Then the two kissed again. Puppy love, it always lasts.
