Jen come on we need to talk.” Balto whimpered to Jenna.
Jenna finely turned to him; Balto slightly wagged his tail, “What do want talk about, how great your glory will be here.” Balto’s tail stopped moving, he whimpered. Jenna grunted, “Will you stop whimpering it’s annoying!”
Balto started to whimper but stopped, “Jen-”
“I told you shut it with the Jen, my name is Jenna not Jen!” Jenna screamed at Balto.
Balto felt his heart twist and turn, “Sorry Jenna I…” he didn’t know what to say to her.
Jenna shook her head in annoyance, “‘Sorry Jenna I’m trying to change.’” Jenna reminded of Balto when he first said that.
Balto felt his eyes burn with hot tears, “No, Jenna it’s not that.”
“Then what is it?!” Jenna demanded to know.
Balto paused he tried his best not to cry, “Jenna…I’m scared.”
Jenna scoffed, “That’s hard to believe.”
Balto knew he was crying know he still kept his voice normal, “Jenna really I am. I never been in a war.”
Jenna hit the ground, “Well something is finely knew for you.”
Balto looked away from her, “I’m sorry, but I have tell you.”
Jenna grunted, “Well you don’t need to tell me, half-breed.”
Balto froze at what Jenna had just said to him. Half-breed? Balto felt his soul die out, his heart, break. Balto tried to nuzzle Jenna but she backed away. Balto swallowed, “good night…Jenna…I love you.”
“I told you, you don’t need to tell me half-breed.” Jenna said, colder than any ice.
Balto sighed as went to the wall opposite of Jenna. He watched her till she fell asleep. Balto was still crying Jenna didn’t seem to care at all. Does she really love me still? The thought made Balto put a paw on his mussel. Who can blame her? She has every right to hate and……leave me for this. Balto felt his heart break all over again. He cried himself to sleep.
Balto awoke to a paw taping his head. Balto opened his eyes to see Hector patting his head, “Hey you live!”
Balto whipped his eyes to check if he had any tears left on his face. “Hey Hector.” Balto yawned, he still felt terrible about last night.
Hector sighed, “we need you right now.” Balto looked over to Jenna who was still sleeping.
Balto put ears back, Jenna “Alright Hector.” Balto stood up he went over to Jenna he lifted a paw to wake her up, he stopped and set his paw down, ‘Half-breed.’ The words echoed in his mind.
Balto turned and went over to Hector, “Lets go.” Hector shook his head in confusion.
“You’re not going to say your leaving to her.” Hector asked.
“She said I didn’t need to tell her.” Balto felt like crying all over again.
“No she fine with…it.” Balto managed to finish.
“Very well I see.” Hector said understandingly.
On the way to main den, Hector did most of the talking. “You know my first fight, with Loresa when we where mates any way it was about I forgot it was I think it started when I said I was.” Hector paused, worthless. “Not useful.” Hector laughed a little, he tried to stop but ended up laughing again.
Balto turned to him, “Hector are you?”
“No, no!” He laughed, “I’m sorry, hahahhaahahahaah, I can’t help it.” Hector started laughing hysterically now.
Balto became baffled, “What’s so funny.”
Hector took a few breaths, “I know it’s mean but,” Hector started laughing again, “You, you and Jenna seemed to have a fight last night.”
Balto twitched, “We may have.”
“No, no.” Hector started laughing again. Balto felt like he could kill Hector for laughing at that. “Sorry, soo, sarroy. It’s just, just.” Hector started laughing again.
“It’s what?” Balto asked his temper almost broke.
“It’s, it’s just me.” Hector laughed as he leaned to the closest wall. He hit his paw on the ground; he took a breath so he could finish his sentence. “But, but, eheh, just that, that, ah, ha.” Hector lifted his paw asking for a second to calm down. After about a minute Hector composed himself a little, “I’m so sorry but keep this a secret ok! Please.”
Balto looked away annoyed, “Alright I will.”
“Ok, ok, it’s just when no matter what I do no matter how romantic I get with Loresa she doesn’t, you know like give in and we both make love.” Hector started laughing hysterically again. Balto looked away and back to see if anyone was watching. “It’s, it’s that we have only made love, when we have an arguments! Every time we do! So I like and hate fights but like them more.” Hector lost himself in laughter on the ground.
Balto froze, “Only out of fights?” I thought you couldn’t get any! I repeat to myself any weirder than what I thought! But Hector that’s a little personal.
Hector finely got himself back to normal. Balto spoke, “Don’t we need to go to the main den?”
Hectors voice became serious, “Yes that, you need to hear this.”
Balto nodded, Hector led him to main den. Balto could see, Odyssey and Aquarius and from he could tell a lot of other alphas. All those packs a lot of alphas they don’t like me by the looks. “Hey here’s the Hero of Nome.” The wolves looked at Hector with annoyance. Hector shrugged.
“That all be need Hector.” Odyssey told Hector, Hector nodded and left. Balto heard Hector mumble something that made him laugh. “Sucker.”
Balto sighed, as he sat down pretty much where he entered. Well this is Balto’s thoughts where driven off by a howl.
“I demand we kill this half-breed right now he killed my prime!” a fairly large wolf ran up to Balto nose to nose.
Balto wasn’t fazed by it; “You mean those three wolves that tried to kill me I only killed thirty-three percent.”
“You killed them!” Wolf howled at Balto.
Balto twitched an ear, “They tried to kill me, and I defended myself.”
“That’s true Hamal, settle down.” A Wolf to Balto’s side remarked.
Hamal glared at the wolf, “Watch your mouth!” Hamal went back to his spot. Gee I never thought I’d see him.
Odyssey stood up, “our scouts have reported that, he is here just a few hours away.” Odyssey then sat back down.
A greatly lean wolf stood, “I’m Arcux last son of Odyssey, pack leader of Scorn, ally of Aquarius. If they want a war we will give them a war!”
Another female wolf stood up just as lean, “I’d have the best of us the west vs. the best of Tokala any day of they week! I am Chara first daughter of Sabic! This war is ours!”
Aquarius stood up, “Sabic you have fought many battles with me can we win?”
Sabic stood a bright tan wolf fairly muscled, “We never had a wolf step in any of our dens, who never lost a battle, us! And we have Procyon the best of us, with a Hero of Nome! Cygnus with us too! This war is best said by my daughter, it is ours!”
Odyssey stood, “We my have never lost, but everything has an end.”
Balto finely had the courage to speak, “What is your plan for this war an open war won’t let you win, you are too few.”
Procyon stood and went to Balto’s side and sat next to him, “Balto’s right we have to stay defensive this war we can out last them.”
Odyssey smiled, “Then it’s settled then.”
A elder wolf stood, “I watched two of our ever going pups play today, they saw a raven, drop a stick on their heads, this is sign we will drive Tokala back today.”
“Bird signs? We fight by using bird signs?” Balto asked the elder wolf.
“Balto do not mock him he is a servant of the spirits.” Odyssey shot to Balto.
“Balto, we have always have the spirits protect us, mainly the snow spirit, do not mock them.” Procyon said to Balto.
“If I may, I wish to see the battle out let forces where and land marks?” Balto asked. Procyon stared at Balto with aw.
“I may not be doing real fighting but I believe you can’t always stay true with out knowing and reminding. Since I’m in the middle I can keep the lines in position but I need to know them.” Balto continued.
Aquarius smiled at Balto, “I respect that, Cygnus will show you them. After this meeting.
Balto blushed a little, “who is Cygnus?”
Balto heard some of the wolves laugh. Odyssey pointed with his paw, “That’s my son Cygnus.” Balto turned to see a blackish wolf next to another one.
“Cygnus, ok I got it thanks.” Balto welcomed Aquarius. Spirits how I’m I to tell what’s the spirits
