think.”
Bandit changed the subject “Dad, Todd told me that you weren’t from this pack.”
“I wasn’t.” B.J. sighed “Or I wasn’t born in this pack. It took me a while to actually become liked.”
He turned his head to Bandit “Why must you insist on running away.”
“There’s something bigger out there and I’m not going to see it if I’m stuck here.”
“Don’t bee in such a rush and you’ll find it.”
“You really think so?”
“I know so.” B.J. said.
Bandit thought about those words throughout the day. It changed him in some was and in others it didn’t, His adventure spirit would never die out and one night curiosity killed the wolf.
CHAPTER 5
“Good night.” Adolpha said to her son and licked him on the nose. B.J. was already asleep.
“Good night Mom.” Bandit yawned and fell asleep… Or did he? After an hour or two everyone in the pack was asleep for sure. Bandit got up and walked outside. The starts shined down on him and in the night air he could feel the cool wind brush against his body.
Bandit rolled and ran around in the melting snow it wasn’t long before he found himself lost. I can’t be too far from home. He thought. Just then he heard a noise behind him, He turned and saw a rabbit. Playfully he chased the hare. Soon he ran into another figure… A wolf.
The wolf grinned at Bandit evilly.
“Mom!” Bandit called and stumbled to his all four paws. The wolf chased the pup often trying to pick Bandit up in her jaws. Panting heavily Bandit reached the opening to his den and ran inside. The lone wolf seemed to disappear after that.
Two or three hours later Bandit looked out at the northern lights.
“Night lights.” Bandit whispered. He got up and walked out to the entrance of the den looking both ways for the lone wolf.
No sign… Bandit took a step out and watched the lights after about five minutes the she wolf jumped at him.
“Mom!” Bandit howled.
Adolpha woke up with a jolt and looked over to were her son slept, he wasn’t there.
“Bandit?!” She whispered “Bandit!” she cried and ran out of the den. There was nothing but the cool breeze and the disturbed snow. Adolpha’s eyes widened and tears fogged her eyes. She howled and howled each howl she got weaker and weaker until she found herself laying on the ground whimpering her heart out. She wished that she could say she loved him one last time.
She flashed back to the time when she made the most secrete promise to anyone. The promise that she would keep Bandit safe, would never let anything happen to him.
“Adolpha?” B.J. ran out of the den to see her crying.
“Bandit…was kidnapped.” Adolpha cried. B.J. gasped no longer did he feel tired but the most intense sadness anyone could feel, B.J. started to tear up as well.
Adolpha stood up and nuzzled B.J.
“I made a promise.” She whimpered quietly “I promised him that nothing would happen to him.”
B.J. licked his mate on the top of the head. Her tears dripped onto his paws and his tears dripped onto her fur.
“I’m going to find him.” B.J. said
“I’m coming with you.”
“No, Adolpha.”
CHAPTER 6
B.J. searched until dawn. He found bloody paw prints, wolf prints. Knowing that it wouldn’t be easy of what he found, he followed them. He came to a lone wolf eating a hare.
B.J. backed up “Sorry.” He murmured He walked back to the pack with a sunken heart and tears in his eyes
