rubber bands she found. “Kikko! You told me that when I was eight months old you would teach me fishing!” complained Leftshoulder, howling. A sleepy Kikko walked out of the den and stretched. “Leftshoulder, it’s like 5:30 am!!” Kikko complained, licking her fur. Leftshoulder just ran over towards the river and said, “I couldn’t wait any longer!” Kikko followed him and explained, “First, you have to see if a fish is coming. Then, you aim carefully. Third, you open your jaws as wide as you can. Finally, you attack!” Kikko scooped up a tiny fish and dropped it back into the river. “Just toss back in the little ones, okay?” she said. The first time Leftshoulder tried it he ended up drinking a quart of water. At the second attempt, he caught a huge fish and they both enjoyed it. “Kikko!!! Leftshoulder!!!” called Thornz, trotting towards them. “You should have left a note or something!” he exclaimed.
Chapter 5: Recto and Forrest Emerald
“Forrest Emerald! I’m 3 months old!!!!” complained a Dark wolf that was rolling on the ground. “Recto, you’re still not old enough to hunt dangerous musk ox or moose!” replied Forrest Emerald patting him. (Remember the abandoned Dark wolf? Forrest Emerald named him Recto.) “Nuts….well, can I play with my friends?” askedRecto, climbing a rock. “Oh…alright, but make sure that they won’t go hunting,” called Forrest Emerald. Recto ran into Blackberry meadow and saw Krystal and Kokako. “Hello Recto! Have you seen Sorrel anywhere?” asked Kokako, wrestling Krystal. “I think Cherri is coming, but Sorrel got caught by his mother without washing his face.” Explained Krystal, sitting on Kokako. “!?Hey! Get off of me!!!” screamed Kokako. Krystal walked off and spied Cherri and Sorrel walking towards them. “Sorry. I just had to wash my face…” replied Sorrel, carrying Cherri. Kokako invited Cherri to play wolf tag and Krystal talked to Recto. Sorrel sat on a rock and stared into the morning sky. “Hey, Recto, what do you think made you different from the Dark wolves?” asked Krystal, lying down. “Well, I think the dark wolves are losing power, soon they are going to become normal wolves…I guess…”He replied. Sorrel responded, “….In the next million years, they will be gone.” “We should leave this place and go face those Dark wolves…” protested Sorrel. “Yeah! Let’s get lots of wolves and defeat those jerks!!!” exclaimed Kokako, trying to nip Krystal’s snout.
“Let’s call ourselves team Wolf pack!” confessed Cherri. “Um……okay….”said Sorrel, dumbfounded. “Let’s get Forrest Emerald’s sis and brother and also try to get Thornz, Sapphire Blue, and Atez to come too.” Replied Recto. As the Wolf pack team ran into the forest….they didn’t have aware of a Dark wolf watching them in the bushes. The Dark wolf growled and ran towards Zenius’s den.
Chapter 6: The search For Family
At Thornz’s den, Kikko got ready to leave him and Sapphire Blue. She was old enough to start her own life with Leftshoulder of course. As she howled goodbye, she and Leftshoulder flew into the sky and towards Red leaf village. “Oh no! Thornz! We forgot to tell her about Atez!!” exclaimed Sapphire Blue, worriedly. He answered, “She will find out herself….” Back to Kikko and Leftshoulder, they stopped at a meat factory. ‘Kikko! How will the humans let us get meat?” asked Leftshoulder, taking out his map. “Leftshoulder, these humans love wolves.” replied Kikko, entering the factory. A few minutes later, Kikko came out with three packages, one in her mouth, one on her back, and one on her tail. Leftshoulder ran and helped her with the heavy load. He took one package from her in his mouth. Soon they ate the meat on a hill where the grass was so green that it would make your eyes shine. “So…what...do….you…want….to…do…now?” asked Leftshoulder, between bites. Kikko answered, “We will find a place to stay. We might have to sleep in the factory.” “So who were your brothers or sisters when you ran away?” asked Leftshoulder, cocking his head. Kikko replied, “…….well…their names were Topaz and Forrest Emerald. I ran away from them and I don’t know if they are still living…” Leftshoulder’s eyes began to water and he walked away from Kikko. Kikko picked him up by the scruff and walked into the factory.
Inside the factory, there were two dog beds prepared for canine guests and a water and food bowl. “We will stay here?” asked Leftshoulder sleepily. “Yes.” answered Kikko, dropping him on the small bed. Then Kikko walked to the large bed and began to fall asleep. “Tomorrow…yawn…we will look for Topaz and Forrest Emerald…” yawned Kikko. And so with that, Kikko fell asleep.
To be continued… all chars here belong to me!
