“Their our children” Rebecca says and nuzzled him. “Theirs a girl and two boys”

Sam stared at him and wagged his tail. He bent down and nuzzled one with his snout.

“Oh, their so beautiful…” he gasped as the pup’s tiny nose sniffed Sam’s big nose.

“What we gonna name them?” Rebecca asked suddenly.

Sam looked at one of the males. He was all red with a cream snout and chest and around his eyes. “What about… Shadow?” he suggested randomly.

“Yeah… yeah I like that, my little shadow” she said softly and licked the pup’s face.

Rebecca then looked at the other pup, I always liked the name ski” she muttered.

Sam nodded and smiled. “That’s his name then”

“Hey, where’s my daughter?” Rebecca hissed and stood up looking around.

“Over there!” Sam gasped as he saw a red and white pup’s tail sticking out from the snow. Sam grabbed her tail in his mouth gently and pulled her out. She dangled

Upside-down from his jaws chuckling quietly. Sam placed her beside Rebecca.

“Jenna!” they both said together and nuzzled each other.

 

Later that day Rebecca carried Jenna in her jaws and Sam carried Ski on his back and shadow in his jaws. They carefully carried their pups to the village.

Rebecca stopped out side the white gates that automaticly opened. She scratched at the doggy-flap but it was locked. She barked franticly. “Sam! Agnes told me a couple of months ago that something bad was gonna happen, that me and her will be on the streets” she panicked.

“Hmm” Sam thought and read a piece of paper hung on the door.

 

It says: Due to the people that lived here they did not pay the rent, in consequence of this behaviour they have been kicked out of this house. Where they live now, we don’t know. On more information please ring 078260502. (Made up number)

 

Sam placed the pups on the grass and read it out loud and looked at Rebecca.

“We… She’s been kicked out and moved away somewhere… no wonder she never came for me. She must of thought I would have been better at the vets…” Rebecca whispered placing Jenna down gently. “Oh what am I to do?...” she mumbled.

“You could stay with me?” Sam said.

Rebecca smiled a little. “But I miss my owner…”

“Look, dear, she’s a human, she can survive out there. Just leave her.” Sam whispered.

Rebecca felt a little angry at her mate but she stayed quiet.

 

8 weeks later…

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Come on Jenna!” called Sam.

“Coming, papa!” her sweet little voice replied.

Ski and shadow were tackling their father and rough-housing.

Jenna was trailing behind. She started of trotting but she now started to run.

She caught up with her dad and brothers panting.

“You can’t take me down, punk” snapped ski playfully.

“Ooh yeah?” hissed shadow as he tackled his brother.

Jenna giggled as Sam tickled her belly with his muzzle.

Rebecca trotted over to them and sat down watching and smiling.

“You guys go and play” Sam called as he noticed his mate. He trotted over to her and sat beside her.

“Sam, you do know that it’s time for our pups to get adopted.”

“But, Rebecca, their only 8 weeks old, it’s so hard to let my puppies go…”

“I know, Sam it’s gonna be hard for me too…”

 

Later that day…

 

Jenna, Ski and Shadow were sitting in a cardboard box. They were rough-housing and playing until the humans gathered around. Ski was taking away by Ben and shadow was taking by Danny.

Jenna was left. She felt so scared going into a new home. “Good bye, daughter” Sam said as he saw a girl coming towards the box.

“I’m scared, mom” Jenna said quietly.

Rebecca sighed and took her orange bandanna off. “This is for you, Jenna” she whispered and placed it round Jenna’s neck.

Jenna smiled and nuzzled her mother.

 

“Oh Mommy, look! A pup is for sale can I get her please…”

“Ok, Rosie” her mother replied.

Rosie picked Jenna up in her arms and grinned. Her name tag was on the box.

“Jenna” she said when she saw her name tag. “She’s called Jenna!” Rosie smiled and walked away with her mother.

 

Rebecca nuzzled Sam sadly. As they watched their puppies disappear…
