going down to catch a fish, Papa!” Aleu called before running off the boat.

“Ok don’t go out to far Aleu!” Balto yelled.

Aleu nodded her head as she ran. She came to a little lake. Multicoloured fish danced around.

She licked her lips and flicked her tail. Aleu and her siblings was now almost a full adult.

She watched the fish before swiping at it with her paw; she missed.

“Darn!” she cursed and looked at a different fish.

“Psst” a voice called from behind her.

She turned around quickly to see a bright red and cream coloured husky staring at her.

“W-who are y-you?” she stuttered.

The dog tilted his head. “Aleu?” He asked.

Aleu looked at him funnily. “C-Chester?”

The dog wagged his tail.

“Y-you can’t be… he died”

“No I was badly wounded. A wolf pack came to my aid and rescued me. I lived with them ever since”

“Well…why didn’t you tell us? We where so upset that y-“ she yelped and ran over to him.

He smiled and nuzzled her. He was a little bit smaller than her but not that much.

She smiled. Joyful tears spilled down her cheeks. She nipped his ears and pranced around him.

“There’s someone I’d like you to meet” he said and led her to a meadow.

4 wolves where laying in the sun and two of them where rough-housing.

Aleu smiled. Somehow she felt like this was her destiny.

Chester wagged his tail. “Hey!” He called.

All the wolves raised their heads and looked at him. Three wolves trotted over to him.

“This is my sister, Aleu!”

Aleu smiled and nodded a hello to everyone.

Chapter 8: Wolf clan

It’s late. The moon set in the sky and the stars where out. The air was still and warm.

Aleu sat next to her brother and talked to the pack. She really enjoyed the time here.

“Aleu, isn’t it time to go back now? Farther will be worried” Chester whispered.

Aleu sighed and nodded. “Your right” she replied as she stood up.

“Are you coming?” she continued.

Chester flattened his ears and backed away from her.

Aleu nodded slowly before walking away.

Some of the wolf clan walked over to Chester. “Are you going too?” One asked.

“No… I belong here…” he said and watched his sister walk away. Her tail between her legs and her head and ears down low.

He sighed. “I-I better go” he nuzzled the wolves a friendly goodbye and ran behind her.

The wolves sighed and howled into the air.

Chapter 9: The dog who was dead

Aleu and Chester walked into Nome’s village. The entire dog’s they passed stared at Chester

“I thought he died” they whispered to each other.

Chester flattened his ears as he walked. “It’s ok” Aleu whispered in a comforting tone.

“Mom!” Aleu called.

Jenna looked out of her window and ran down stairs through the door. She then ran over to Aleu.

“Mom” Chester said.

Jenna stared at him in shock. “Chester??”

He nodded and smiled before nuzzling her.

“My boy!” she called and licked his face. “A-are you alright?”

“I’m fine, mom” he said and smiled.

“You’ve grown so big!” she said and looked at her son.

Balto walked over to them. “C-Chester?”

Jenna smiled and backed away.

Balto raced over to him and nuzzled his face. “H-how did you survive?!”

“When I fell I was just badly wounded… but a wolf clan helped me and looked after me. Then Aleu found me so I came home…” Chester said with pride.

Balto nuzzled Aleu. “I’m so proud of you two”

Kodi, Saba, Kally and Dingo ran over to them and pounced on Chester.

Chester growled playfully and pounced on them. Aleu laughed and joined in.

They all acted like puppies again. Chasing each other and rough-housing; happy to see each other.

Balto smiled and sat beside Jenna. Both proud parents smiled and watched their pups play.
