walked over to Jenna’s. “Mom!” he called.
Jenna looked out the window. Then raced down stairs and ran out the door.
“Dingo! Are you ok?” she asked.
“No…”
Jenna sighed. “I heard what’s been happening…” she said as she nuzzled him.
“Mom I was only trying to defend Trick”
“Yes but he’s dead!” she snapped. “Oh… I’m sorry” she whispered realising what she said was hurtful.
Dingo shook his head slowly before running away.
“Oh c’mon Dingo, come back!!”
He carried on running and didn’t stop.
He ran out of Nome and lay down in a cave.
A male and female eagle landed in front of him; cuddling up to each other and nuzzled beaks, before they flew away together.
A tear fell down Dingo’s cheek as he watched them. He was so confused.
He walked outside and closed his eyes. He sang out a loud long howl. The song danced into Nome.
Kahana perked up her ears at the sound and ran towards it.
Dingo stopped howling and opened his eyes, looking into the sky.
The wind blew around him as if the wind was howling too…
Kahana walked and saw Dingo sitting outside the cave. She gasped and walked over to him.
“Dingo…” she said.
“What do you want?” he said before realising it was Kahana. He stared at her.
Kahana smiled weakly. “I’m... sorry…” she said and nuzzled him.
Dingo nuzzled her too.
“I’m sorry…” dingo said and backed away.
Kahana nodded. “It’s alright…”
He smiled and ran towards her and nuzzled her, licking her face.
The two eagles flew around them before flying into the night sky.
2 months later…
Dingo came racing into the cave. “Kahana are you okay?!” he said as he looked at her.
Kahana nodded and smiled. “So are they” she whispered and pointed to her cubs laying beside her. 6 beautiful healthy cubs laying beside their mother.
Dingo smiled and lay beside her nuzzling their cubs.
So, that’s the end of the story, Dingo’s story. Hope you enjoyed reading it! J
