Blaez The Beta Male
Book 3: Spring
Part 1
Blaez slowly opened his grey eyes and looked up to see Azure standing in front of him with a wide smile on her face. Quickly jumping up Blaez looked at her and smiled.
‘Azure you’re alright!’ Blaez said looking up at his friend.
Nodding Azure said quickly ‘Thanks to you Blaez.’
‘The pleasure is all mine.’ Blaez said nodding as he looked past her towards the forest in the distant. Winter was now over and the ice and snow had melted making the entire Shangkai pack lands a lush new area.
‘Our pack lands look more beautiful then I’ve ever seen them’ Azure said as she turned around following Blaez’s gaze.
‘I don’t understand why it has gotten so lush in such a small amount of time though…’ Blaez said sounding very confused and shaking his head as JD slowly walked up beside them. ‘I see you looked after my friend very well.’ Blaez smirked at JD who returned one of his own.
Night who was sleeping nearby heard the wolves talking and slowly stood up and walked over to Blaez before looking out to the Shangkai pack lands.
‘Indeed it is a beautiful land.’ Night nodded before continuing. ‘My lands offer much of what you seek as beauty as well my friend’
All the wolves looked up at Night as JD looked around before looking confused. ‘Pardon me saying this but rocks and more rocks?’
Blaez had only known the mysterious Night for a few weeks at the most but he knew there was something different about him; he really was one of the Night Packs members. One day in the not so distant future Blaez would ask him about the fate of the Night Pack but for now he knew it wasn’t the time or place.
‘Let me show you…’ Night said standing up and walked away from the wolves who looked at each other before they quickly followed him.
A few moments later Night quickly walked past some large rocks far from the area which the wolves usually stayed and once Blaez walked past the rock his mouth gaped open at the sight before him. Water which was still melting from the mountain peak was flowing down the mountains edge in a small channel that had been cut out of the rock after thousands of years. The water flowed down the small channel and down a small waterfall as it descended further down the mountain, but what most surprised Blaez was the small green plants growing on the water edge, it was like an oasis in the midst of a rocky mountain.
‘It’s beautiful Night.’ Azure said looking up at Night who sighed and nodded.
‘Yes indeed one time I thought the same thing, but at times like this I believe that nothing can be considered so until the Shangkai pack who cast darkness over my land are destroyed’
Turning around Blaez looked behind him to see whether or not Akela had followed them up but to his sadness she had not. Ever since he had doomed Jate to a not so good looking fate Akela hadn’t spoken to him and believed him to be a traitor.
Akela, Saffron, Keaton and the other wolves were on the same page and refused to talk to him, they still blamed him even though he tried to explain what happened, they refused to listen. The only wolves who seemed to value his friendship, company and his innocence were Night, Sage, Azure, Konnor and JD but even then Blaez knew that unless they worked together they would never be able to defeat the Shangkai Pack who had almost killed him and his friends twice since they had arrived back to their old home.
Slowly Azure and JD disappeared leaving Night and Blaez looking at the small river before Blaez turned to Night and asked.
‘Have you seen Konnor I haven’t seen him for awhile?’
‘I have not seen your friend who continued to avoid contact with your other friend.’ Night said turning to look at Blaez who tried not roll his eyes. Night always seemed to use more words then he needed to, and sometimes Blaez didn’t understand his sayings, ever since what was left of his pack had been killed he seemed to have retreated away from everyone focusing only on one thing; destroying the Shangkai Pack.
‘I’m going to go find him.’ Blaez said standing up and walking away leaving Night watching his reflection in the water and not saying as Blaez disappeared.
‘When my children are old enough they will help me kill ever wolf that tries to disobey our rule!’ Torren said smiling down at his two small pups as Dusk looked up at her mate.
‘What shall we call them?’ She said gently smiling.
‘Sariah and Ronan’ Torren said smirking as both him and Dusk looked down at their tiny pups.
Part 2
As Blaez was looking for Konnor he saw Akela sitting down on her own near the entrance to a small cave. Frowning a little Blaez was about to walk away but stopped himself and sighed before walking up to her; they hadn’t spoken in days.
‘Hello,’ Blaez said looking at Akela who didn’t turn around or say anything. ‘Look I’m looking for Konnor maybe you’ve seen him?’ Blaez continued but still Akela didn’t anything.
Frowning again Blaez started to walk away but stopped when he heard her speak.
‘This isn’t going to work…’ Slowly she turned around to look at him.
‘What do you mean?’ Blaez asked and glanced back at her.
‘We can’t work together on this any more, me and my pack need to work alone to against the Shangkai pack…’
Blaez instantly swung around and walked up to Akela who refused to look him in the eye.
‘You saw what happened to the Night-Slayers and they had more wolves then all of us put together we need to be together in this’ Blaez argued as Akela finally looked up at him.
‘We leave tomorrow…’ With that she stood up and began to walked away before Blaez called out to her.
‘Where will you go?’ Akela stopped and glanced back at Blaez.
‘I’m not sure…’ Slowly Akela disappeared as Blaez looked after her, one side of him being stubborn and wanting to stay put whilst another tried to push him forward to go after her but his stubbornness won and he just stood there.
‘What going on I heard yelling?’ Konnor said walking down towards his friend who sighed and looked up at him.
‘Akela is leaving.’
‘What!’ Konnor gasped ‘why?’
Blaez sighed ‘because she thinks I betrayed her when I turned Jate in to Torren’
‘We all know it was by mistake…’ Konnor frowned ‘…besides we don’t need them right Blaez?’ He turned to Blaez who nodded before sitting down looking after Akela.
The next day Akela, Keaton, Saffron and some of the other wolves left the safety of the Night Pack’s lands with only Night, Blaez, Konnor, Azure, JD and Sage left standing on the rocky land as the pack lead by Akela disappeared in to the darkness of the night. Konnor turned to Azure who looked at him and frowned before walking up to JD and sitting beside him making Konnor frown as he looked away.
‘What are we going to do now Blaez?’ Azure said looking up at Blaez who had a distant look in his eyes as he looked down at her.
‘Nothing.’
‘What!?’ She said looking at Blaez who turned away from them.
‘We’re going to wait till the end of Autumn then we’re going back home.’
‘We are home Blaez…’
‘No we’re not’ Blaez snapped looking back at her ‘This isn’t our home it’s the Shangkai pack lands now and we can’t defeat them, we’ll never defeat them.’ With that Blaez quickly walked away from the others as he walked to the small stream Night had shown him earlier.
Standing beside the stream Blaez looked down at his reflection and sighed to himself. Who was he kidding? Torren was to powerful, the whole Shangkai pack was to powerful and with their numbers cut in half there was no chance they’d be able to defeat them, they were fighting a losing battle and he knew it.
A cold wind blew past and as Blaez shivered he turned and noticed that Night had walked up beside him and turned to look at him.
‘Your show of defeat has greatly effected your followers.’ Night said.
‘They’re not followers, only friends but they need to learn the truth, the truth hurts sometimes.’ Blaez sighed and looked down at the ground.
‘Truth it self doesn’t hurt my friend it’s what it means and how you deal with it that does.’ Night said looking away but Blaez didn’t say anything as Night sighed. ‘Giving up hope was what doomed my pack long ago…’
Blaez looked up at Night who looked down at his reflection before he continued.
‘My pack lived in peace for many years, my father Sirius was a powerful Alpha who let our pack blossom in to what it was, but he also proved to me he wasn’t as strong as we thought he was. When your pack went missing and the Shangkai pack invaded my father tried a truce with them to let our pack lands live in peace, we are not fighters Blaez we are mystical wolves nothing more nothing less. Torren being heartless as he is pretended to agree with my father and one night whilst me pack sat and watched the stars he surrounded and murdered my pack, only those who ran away like cowards escaped…’ Night sighed ‘…like me, I was a coward for letting down my pack, letting down my father.’
‘So you created the Night-Slayers?’ Blaez asked looking at Night.
‘I believed pretending to be something I knew my pack wasn’t would redeem my name, prove to myself that I wasn’t a coward, but fear clouded my mind, I didn’t listen to reason and in doing so I once again am a coward for killing my pack and escaping with my life.’
‘You can’t blame yourself for any of this…’ Blaez started before Night laughed out aloud.
‘I should have died, I should have fought along my father instead I doomed them all, that’s why Blaez I know I will not let you or anyone give up because regret is

had enough sense to get his pack to safety and not risk
loosing his family. At least he was good enough to do that.
This book was amazing! I can't wait for Book 4!
