uncomfortable. “Kate,” he said, finally stopping and sitting in front of her. Kate was incredibly surprised by this. Usually he didn’t stop walking and talked about love not being real as he circled her. “I know I’ve been a horrible jerk, but I just want to say…I’m sorry.” Kate looked him up and down suspiciously, trying to determine if this was a different way of trying to court her. “What?” “I’m sorry.” He repeated softly. He was smiling, but not in his coy manner. It looked friendly. Kate looked at him confused. “Really?” He nodded, and smiled again. Kate smiled slightly. “I’m glad you…” Panama, at that moment, ran over to Kate and looked at Kindro angrily. He glared back at her. “Nice try Kindro, but don’t think I’ve forgotten this trick.” He growled slightly, and Kate looked at Panama. “Huh?” Panama smiled. “He acts like a friend, and then backstabs you while you’re still facing forward. So in other words, once you let your guard down, he would have either attacked you or tried some other idiotic thing.” Kate looked at Kindro, his stupid coy smile back on his face. Kate felt like an idiot for almost falling for his trick. Kindro walked toward them, and began to circle them both. Panama walked past him confidently, and Kate decided to do the same thing. Kindro walked in the opposite direction, but Kate kept her ears up to make sure he didn’t try sneaking up on them. Panama resumed her usual self, and walked away from Kate. Kate didn’t care much though. If Panama didn’t like her, then whatever. She wasn’t about to go crying about someone not being a friend. She walked towards the pack’s den, and found a bit of peace and quiet there.

It wasn’t long till her peace and quiet was broken by angry snarls and wolf barks. She quickly ran in the direction of the noise, hoping that maybe she could help the stranger fighting Jackal. That way, she could get out of this territory, and back to Demon. She finally reached the scene f the battle, and saw Kindro and Panama watching nervously. Jackal liked to fight against an enemy first, and if he needed help (which he seldom did) they would jump in and finish off the already weakened enemy. She didn’t like that form of fighting because it required no skill, just plenty of cheaters and one poor victim. She saw Jackal fighting another black wolf. This wolf was larger then him in size by muscles, but not in height. His legs were short and powerful. “Almost like…” she whispered to herself, then stopped and looked closely at the “enemy” black wolf. “Marcus!” she said out loud by accident. He paid no attention to her, since he had been trained not to look away from your enemy in battle. Even then, he still looked stunned. Marcus knocked Jackal to the ground, and Jackal gave the signal. Panama and Kindro launched themselves toward Marcus, but never made it there. Jesse came out of the bushes, running at full speed, and knocked them away. Kate ran toward them, and helped keep Kindro and Panama away. Jackal managed to squirm away from Marcus, and instead of trying to get Kate back, he retreated, with Kindro and Panama close at his heels. Kate stood there, and looked at her brothers. They stared back, both of them in horrible shock. Kate smiled sadly, and ran to them. She nuzzled her brothers, and they did the same. “Kate.” They both said happily. She smiled at them. “Thanks you guys. I was being held hostage.” Jesse and Marcus looked angrily in the direction that Jackal had ran, but Kate shook her head and lead the way to Demon’s territory. “So.” Jesse joked “Is that ‘tough’ moron your boyfriend?” “No.” Kate said as she walked. “Mine is much nicer then that.” Jesse and Marcus looked at her in a shocked, confused, and happy manner.
