“I Am Part Wolf”: Alue Meets Aniu.
One morning, Alue was sleeping in the forest. She was awakening by a distant howl. “What was that?” She walked along the path until she reached a pasture. She was thinking of the trouble her pack was in. She sighed. “How am I going to find food and water for my pack? I am so confused!” “The deer and other animals are moving very quickly. The pack may not even have time to rest. Think of what it will do to the pups.
By the time she reached the pasture, it was early dawn. She looked up and was terribly tired. Then something caught her eye. “Ah! Who…Who are you.” The big wolf spoke in a soft voice. “Alue, I am, Aniu.” Alue was amazed. She heard Balto say that he had seen his mother, but she never believed him. Alue spoke with courage. “Grandma, I need your help. My pack is desperate We need to find food, and fresh water.” Aniu spoke again. “I have seen where the water flows and the food is abundant. You may get your pack and follow. Meet me here after noon. Alue did as she was told.
The two wolves met again. They set off on their quest to find food and water. One of the wolves asked Alue,” When are we going to be getting there. We’ve traveled for at least eight hours.” Alue said in reply,” soon, right Grandma?” Aniu nodded. “Yup.” They reached a forest after traveling for two days.
It was beautiful. There was a wonderful waterfall and lake. There was deer and other animals there too.” Thank you, Grandma.” Aniu looked at her with pride. “It was nice seeing you. I will be with you.” In a flash, Alue heard Aniu howl, and she knew she was noble, wise, smart, and beautiful. Alue said in pleasure with a whisper,” Always, forever. Alue’s pack was very pleased with her work, and Aniu’s.
