“I agree with you” all the crew abandoned the boiler room and headed for higher decks. At 8:35 the Captain ordered the lifeboats lowered away, Jenna, Aleu, Dusty, and Kodi were walking down the Grand Staircase where they were confronted by a throng or crew who’s faces were black and their clothes wet with water among them were Balto and Brigham. Jenna wrapped her arms around Balto and said “ I thought something happened to you” Balto replied “nothing happened to me but we better get of this ship she is taking on water fast” Jenna stepped back from Balto and said “she is” Balto nodded and said “look for yourself” he lead her over to the railing and pointed down at the water on the D Deck floor below them Jenna looked at everyone and turned back to Balto and said “what shall we do” Balto replied “ get to the boats and get off of this ship” He lead everyone to the boat deck. When Balto and the others got on deck the sea breeze blew threw their fur and Balto said “ I love the sea” he drew in air into his lungs and exhaled, the boat deck was crowed with nurses and crew who were being loaded in the lifeboats Balto lead Jenna to a boat and she climbed in and she was followed by Aleu, Dusty and Kodi. Jenna looked at Balto and said “come in Balto” he backed away from the boat and replied “sorry Jenna I cannot come” she said “why” her eyes started to well up with tears Balto says “ will not get into a boat until everyone on this ship can get on deck and into a boat” Jenna replied “Balto please” she held up her arms Balto replied “ no Jen” he hugged her and she said “promise you will be fine” Balto said “ I promise” she let go of him and said “ Kodi, Aleu take care of yourselves” Kodi replied “ I love you dad” Balto said “ so do I” Aleu started to cry Balto said to her “ I will be back” she kept on crying even though she heard this, Balto turned to Dusty and said “ good bye Dusty” she said “ bye Balto” the boat was lowered Jenna watched as Balto and Brigham disappeared from view and the boat landed in the water and it rowed away from the Britannic.

Balto watched as their boat rowed away from the ship and he turned to Brigham and said “well lets get started” Brigham looked at him and said “yeah lets do it” Balto and Brigham went back into the lower parts of the ship and started to direct nurses and crew Balto said “go that way towards the boat deck people” Brigham turned and looked around and said “such a beautiful ship and it’s sinking” Balto heard him say this and replied “ there nothing we can do to stop it” Brigham nodded and they both continued to help people.

From the sea Jenna watched as the Britannic tilt more toward the side and also watched as the other lifeboats were lowered she said to herself “ I hope Balto and Brigham are on those boats” she looked at the others in her boat then looked at her son Kodi he says “ I hope dad knows what he is doing” Jenna replied “he knows what he is doing Kodi have a little faith in your father he always manages to come out of his decisions somehow” Kodi nodded Jenna turned to Aleu and Dusty who were both watching the ship sink lower into the sea.

Back on board Balto and Brigham were still helping people into the boats they could feel the ship tilting to one side Brigham says “Balto maybe we should get out of here” Balto looked at him and replies “not yet” they walk down the hallway and here the cries for help coming from a staircase that leads down into the boiler room they look down the staircase and see that pieces of metal have covered the bottom of the stairwell and they could see movement behind it Balto and Brigham run down the stairwell and try moving the metal Brigham replies “it is to heavy to move we need to get something to move this metal out of the way” Balto says “ I will go look for something to move it” Balto runs up the staircase and walks down the hall where he finds a tool closet and grabs to crow bars and runs back to Brigham and hands him a crow bar and Brigham looks at it and says “good thinking” Balto nods, they take the crowbars and jam them into the sides of the metal and push against the crowbar and the metal slowly starts to move put as it starts to move green seawater starts to swirl up around their legs Balto looks down at his legs and says “we better hurry” Brigham nods with one last great push they move the piece of metal it falls to the floor and all the people behind it rush out they all say “thank you” Balto and Brigham nod, Balto walks into the room and sees one person who will not leave Balto looks at him and says “you must leave” the person shakes their head no but Balto is able to persuade this person to leave just as Balto tries to leave a large piece of metal slams down in front of him. Brigham tries to remove it while the water is up to his chest Balto says “leave me” Brigham says “don’t be stupid I am not leaving you here” he continues to try to move the metal. The water is now up to Brighams neck Balto says “leave me and save yourself” Brigham stops trying and says “you are good friend Balto” Balto replies “take care of my family for me” Brigham sticks his paw through a small hole in the metal Balto grabs it he says “goodbye Brigham go on get out a here” Brigham nods and walks up the stairwell and looks back at the piece of metal. Brigham runs up through the decks and jumps of the ship and is pulled into a lifeboat which has Jenna in it she asks “where is Balto” Brigham says “when we tried to help people he was trapped behind piece of metal I could move it” Jenna stares back at the ship and starts crying. Balto is floating on the surface of the water which has reached the ceiling Balto thinks “so this is it” Balto takes a deep breath as the water encloses over his head he exhales and tries to find more air pockets but finds none his yellow eyes become dialated and his heart stops beating the last though that went through his mind was “goodbye Jenna” air bubbles float out of his mouth and swirl toward the ceiling. Balto sees one last thing a bright light he feels himself lift from his body and into the bright light.

On the surface Jenna watches as the ship capsizes and disappear beneath the waves leaving air bubbles on the surface. She turns away and sees a ship on the horizon coming to them. The Britannic finally went under at 9:00 am bring with her Balto and 29 other people.

The wreck lies at the bottom of the Mediterranean near Greece she is perfectly preserved as if nothing ever happened to her.
