The Resurrection

The Resurrection.

One night a wolf pack of four were travelling through the snowy Hearken Mountains. As the crisp newly laid snow crunched beneath their feet, Heradan stopped dead in his tracks. “What is it?” Azacha, the lead wolf called, looking back to see if he had left anyone behind, and when he had he spotted Heradan sniffing the air. “I don’t know a strange phenomenon I can’t explain” Heradan answered, looking around himself cautiously. The wolf pack had been very cautious recently as a fowl looking wolf had apparently ‘cursed’ them so that one by one they will fall to their deaths. So far there used to be 7 now there were four. As the evil old wolf, Ninja, had foretold, first it had been the youngest Harakat who had fallen into a bear trap and hadn’t escaped before the knifed jaws clasped the wolf’s newly limp body. Second there had been the oldest and most wise Otolio who had plunged into a great ice river to save another from his death but sadly both died together. The alive wolves had been troubled over this matter for around 6 suns now and not one had seen another Lera since the last deaths. One of the other wolves a snowy white one called White fang paused to catch her breath and looked at her daughter, a coal black wolf named Bailamore, trailing behind them.

“Come on, Bailamore, your usually always in front” White fang called. The young she-wolf looked up “Yes but mama it is different now, my friends have fallen to their deaths and it is all because of me”Bailamore protested.

“It is not because of you, we are moving to the mountains because of the lack of food” White fang lied, the real story of why they were heading into the mountains was because of Bailamore’s great grandmother who had passed on a message to Bailamore in a dream saying she had a gift, a gift only she could control and to control it she would have to travel the mountains. Of course Azacha didn’t believe any of it but White fang saw how troubled her daughter looked and decided to beg Azacha to take the pack up to the mountains, but now White fang regretted everything and wished she could bring back the dead. A few more suns passed and soon a moon passed but the wolf pack never stopped for one second until:

Bailamore fell so far back that none of the other pack members could see her but when Azacha and White fang fell back to stop for a lap at the ice cold water, when Azacha looked around at his pack still trekking up the mountain side he noticed that Bailamore was missing, he nudged White fang to tell her to stay with the pack and he ran into the blizzard to find his daughter. Around 5 miles later Azacha’s nose waved in the air and he saw a black thing covered in snow, he ran over as fast as his legs would carry him and as he did he saw the motionless body of his daughter “BAILAMORE!!” He shouted nudging the little coal pup. When there was no response Azacha spat at the limp pup and it shook it’s head “Bailamore?” Azacha asked quietly. The pup shook it’s head “What?” She asked.

“Thank god your alive” Azacha said leading the pup back to the others.

A sun passed since Azacha and Bailamore had been reunited with the pack and Bailamore seemed very distant from the other members, White fang and Heradan, Heradan glared over at Bailamore and tried getting eye contact but every time they did she looked away. The pack set off again and Bailamore didn’t eat or drink, she became skinny and you could see her bones through her fur. White fang became very worried and made the pack speed up. There was suddenly a great gust of snow lashing on there backs and some of the wolves kept falling over but Bailamore kept on her feet and never once fell over she waded through the snow and didn’t let the other wolves snide comments get in her way. White fang kept seeing where they were heading until they came to a clearing. Azacha led them in and Bailamore felt stiff and rigid and suddenly a cloud appeared speaking as being her great grandmother.

“Child, you must get your family away from these lands and I will be there to guide you” It spoke and then left.

Bailamore woke up, her body hot and sweaty, she was lying in the cold snow as she realised it was just a dream she knew this was her destiny and that this someday would happen and someday all the lives that had been lost in her dream would be lost for real, that’s when she decided she was leaving. The next day the others went around looking for Bailamore when White fang ran back to Azacha terrified and their Bailamore was, hanging from a tree, a spear through her belly, piercing the skin and blood dripping down onto the ground. This was the work of Ninja.
