With Shade now able to use his own attacks he was ready to kill Aleu.

When Shade walked down to Jenna's and Kayko's cell, he unlocked it and went inside. He walked up to Jenna and smacked her across the face with his paw.

"What was that for?" Kayko said.

"I just did it because I felt like it! You should know something Jenna, your daughter Aleu won't last against me or Suzaku."

Jenna managed to stand and she looked Shade in the eye.

"My daughter will defeat you," Jenna said.

Shade just spat at Jenna and left.

 

After the battle with Genbu, the group had to run along this stone bridge that led to the other part of the castle. When they reached this platform they stopped and looked up.

"Byakko!" said Kuwabara.

"I see you managed to beat Genbu, so who do I get to rip apart first?"

Kuwabara stepped forward.

"So, you're going to fight me, weakling," said Byakko.

"I'm not a weakling and I will fight you," said Kuwabara.

"I'll help you Kuwabara," said Dingo.

Byakko looked at his two opponents.

"So, I get two for the price of one to kill."

Byakko jumped down from where he was standing and landed on the platform ready to fight.

Kuwabara had his spirit sword ready to attack.

Dingo was looking at his enemy even though he did not know what Byakko was capable of.

Byakko just shot his green exploding ray at them and they dodged quickly.

"Damn, give us a warning next time!" Kuwabara shouted.

"I don't fight fair," said Byakko.

Byakko just ran at them but Dingo jumped and used his spirit claw on Byakko's left leg. Byakko just fell down now that he had a wound and blood started to seep out of the three long cut marks that Dingo left.

Balto saw that his son was doing well against Byakko and he was proud of how strong he had become since they had benn in Japan.

Kuwabara slashed at Byakko's arm, but he did not do as much damage as Dingo did.

Byakko grabbed Dingo by his left hind leg and threw him into Kuwabara.

"Don't you ever give up?" Dingo said while getting back up.

Kuwabara struck Byakko in the same spot where Dingo had cut Byakko's leg.

Byakko roared in pain but before he could react, Dingo slashed at Byakko's eyes which blinded him.

"Ah! what have you done!" Byakko shouted.

With Byakko now blind, he was attacking all wildly.

"Where are you!" Byakko said.

"You ready?" Kuwabara said to Dingo.

"Yeah, I'm ready to finish him off," Dingo said.

With Byakko still swinging his arms wildly, Kuwabara and Dingo pierced Byakko's back with their attacks which pierced his heart in the process.

"Two down, four to go," Hiei said.

"Who do you think we have to go up against next?" said Kodi.

"I have no idea, son," said Balto.

Suzaku was getting even more angry now that two of his allies were dead. What made him even more angry was that they were also defeated by animals.

"How can this be happening! My strongest demon's being defeated by Yusuke and his friends!" said Suzaku.

"Patience, my friend, they will meet their end soon enough," said Younger Toguro.

"I'll take care of them," said Seiryu.

Seiryu went to the area where they would meet him and it was freezing cold.

"Damn! It's freezing in here. How can you six be used to it?" Yusuke said while shivering.

"The reason we're used to it is because it is always snowing back home," said Balto.

Balto then saw Seiryu. Seiryu blew some cold wind at the group, Yusuke, Kurama and Kuwabara were shivering. Hiei just walked toward Seiryu and had his sword out.

"So you are going to face the dragon?" said Seiryu.

"Quit your babbling and let's finish this," Hiei said.

"As you wish," said Seiryu.

Hiei moved faster then anyone expected and neither did Seiryu. Seiryu was surprised at the speed of his opponent but Seiryu was not amazed.

"What do you think?" said Hiei.

"I say your too slow," Seiryu said.

"Oh am I?" said Hiei.

Seiryu didn't know it, but he was sliced into eight seperate pieces.

"Well, let's move on," said Yusuke.

 

"Ah!" Suzaku screamed as he destroyed one wall of the castle. "Bring the two prisioners up. I want them to see their friends suffer."

The Younger Toguro went down to the cell and took Jenna and Kayko up to the room where the battle was going to take place and chained them to a wall.

When Balto and everyone reached the final room in the castle they all saw Shade, Suzaku and the Toguro brothers.

"So you finally made it," said Shade.

On the far west wall Yusuke and Balto saw Jenna and Kayko.

"JENNA!"

"KAYKO!"

Suzaku split himself into seven individual forms which made it ten to six.

Without warning, Shade jumped at Aleu and bit her right front leg and she howled in pain.

Yusuke was fighting the Toguro brothers, while Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara were fighting Suzaku.

Balto ran at Shade and used his spirit swipe but before it connected with Shade, a dark barrier of energy surrounded Shade.

"What happened!" Balto shouted.

"I guess you didn't know I had spirit energy also, did you Balto?" said Shade.

With Yusuke beating his two opponents, his three friends managed to kill all but two Suzaku's.

Yusuke made one fianl attempt since he only had enough spirit energy for one more shot with his shotgun. Exhausted Yusuke ran at the two brothers and Yusuke disappeared. The Toguro brothers were surprised and didn't know where he was at.

"It ends now for you two!" Yusuke shouted and fired his shotgun from behind them at point blank range.

Suzaku saw the Toguros fall dead to the floor and he even met his end by Kuwabara's spirit sword.

"Tou she humans, you are the better species."

Kuwabara used his spirit sword to release Kayko and Jenna as they returned to their friends and family.

Aleu and Balto were still fighting Shade, with Balto and Aleu out of spirit energy. Aleu was going to finish him off but Balto stopped her.

"Papa, what are you doing?" Aleu said.

"I'll finish him off for you."

A new source of energy was flowing through Balto but no one knew where it was coming from.

"He's using his life energy. He's going to sacrifice himself for us," Yusuke said.

"No, don't Balto. I love you, I don't want to loose you!" Jenna screamed.

Balto focused his life energy for one last spirit swipe and it connected with Shade. Both laid on the ground but Balto was still alive--barely. Yusuke transferred some of his life energy to Balto. Balto was going to survive. 

Chapter 10: The Journey Home

Spirit world

The entire group, including Kayko were in Koenma's office. Next to Koenma's desk sat Aniu.

"I see you made it back my son. I sensed that your life force was leaving your body," Aniu said.

"Yeah. I was hoping I wouldn't die yet," Balto laughed.

"So, Koenma, what's going on?" Yusuke asked.

"Well, what happened is I managed to find a way to get your friends back home."

Balto and his family were excited because they were finally able to get back home.

"Yusuke are you going to tell something to Kayko?" Balto said.

"Oh yeah. Kayko, I asked your father if it would be ok if I married you in three years," Yusuke said as he puled out the ring.

"Yes, Yusuke, I will marry you in three years," Kayko said then she kissed him.

"Aleu you have been awfully quiet, is something wrong," Jenna said.

Aleu just remained silent for alittle longer then she looked at her parents.

"Mom, Dad, how do you two feel about being grandparents," Aleu said a little embarassed.

"That's great Aleu. I can't wait," said Kodi.

Balto and Jenna were really happy for their daughter.

"Balto the gateway has opened. If you don't go through you'll be stuck here for two hundred years," said Koenma.

"Well, I guess this is whee we say good-bye," said Balto.

"Yeah, well, take care and take care of those new grand kids of yours," Yusuke said.

When they all entered the portal they ended up back at the stream where they disappeared.

When they arrived at the cave, Aleu saw Mataki and walked up to him.

"A-Aleu, when did you return?" Mataki said, surprised.

"Mataki you are no longer a member of this pack because Lakota told me what you tried to do in my absence," Aleu said.

Mataki left the cave while Balto, Jenna, Kodi, Dingo and Saba went back to Nome.

When they arrived, Rosie runs up to them and said "Where have you guys been? You have been now where to be seen for seven hours."

Balto was surprised because, while they were in Japan, five moths had passed in Japan while only seven hours wen tby in Nome, but he was happy to be back home.

Eight months later...

Balto and Jenna, along with Dingo, Kodi and Saba, were at the cave waiting to see the new members of the family. When Lakota stepped out he let them go in. They all saw Aleu in one corner of the cave where three small balls of fur were nuzzling aginst her.

"Aleu, they are beautiful," Jenna said.

"Have you decided what to name them yet?" Kodi said.

"Yeah." Aleu put her nose on the light gray pup and said that his name would Matsi and the two girls would be called Wyakin and Wahots.

The family was happy for the new young members.
