blushed even more, not able to look into her eyes.

Dusty stared at him, and then nuzzled him "I feel the same way Kodi"

"You do?" Kodi replied as she continued to nuzzle his neck.

"Yes. I love you so much Kodi, and I want to be with you forever"

Kodi licked her face "And I want to be with you forever too Dusty. More than anything in the world"

Dusty lay down on the floor, their eyes locked. Kodi leaned down and nuzzled her, and she did the same.

He lay down next to her, and they both curled up snugly.

--------------------------------------------

Dingo was snapped out of his sleep by the sound of the door opening with a metallic creak. He heard the sound of someone walking into the room, before a powerful kick sent him sprawling across the floor.

"Get up! I want a word with you!" Frost growled.

Dingo coughed, his chest hurting from where Frost had kicked him. With great difficulty, he got to his feet.

"Move" Frost commanded.

His legs shaking, Dingo padded out of the room, Frost behind him.

--------------------------------------------

"Right then. Now, where did we leave off last time, huh?" Frost smirked. Dingo kept his gaze on the floor.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you, Dingles" the German Shepherd growled, taking a step forwards.

Dingo sighed, and lifted his head to face Frost. The German Shepherd smirked.

"Good boy. When you cooperate, things will go a lot smoother"

Dingo glared at Frost "Who are you anyway?"

Frost laughed "Me? Don't you recognise me Dingo? Can't you see the resemblance?"

Dingo frowned "I've never met you before"

"Oh but you have Dingo! At least, a part of me that is" Frost grinned, taking a step forwards.

"Tell me Dingo, do you know where you are?"

Dingo shook his head. Frost sniggered.

"Have a closer look"

Dingo scanned round. Wherever he was, it was dark, and smelled of wood shavings...and blood.

Something in his head clicked, as he remembered where he was. He shivered.

The factory.

Frost smirked evilly "You remember now, don't you Dingy?"

Dingo gulped. He was in the old saw mill on the outskirts of town. He never thought he would come back here, at least not willingly.

He looked up at the top gantry, and within the shadows he could make out several ropes hanging from the ceiling. He shivered as memories came flooding back.

Frost looked up "What are you looking at?"

Dingo gulped as Frost went static, a low growl starting to escape his mouth. When he turned back round, his eyes were ablaze.

"You-killed-my-brother!"

Before Dingo could react, Frost belted him round the mouth, sending him sprawling backwards. Blood seeped down his chin, his muzzle burning.

Dingo's vision swam as Frost smacked him round the head, his legs giving way underneath him. Dingo shook his head to try to clear his vision as Frost bit him on the leg and grabbed on. Dingo screamed in pain as Frost bit down harder, blood seeping from the wound.

Dingo kicked out, catching Frost on the nose. The German Shepherd growled as his nose started bleeding, before rearing up and hitting Dingo three times round the head.

Blood trickled into Dingo's eyes as he attempted to get to his feet. His lungs were burning as Frost leant down nose to nose.

"Never...hit me...again"

Dingo shivered as Frost raised his paw again...

--------------------------------------------

Kodi woke up, feeling something warm lying next to him. He looked down at Dusty's sleeping form, and licked her tenderly on the top of her head.

He let out a sigh as he lay his head on top of hers, feeling her warm fur against his face.

"I love you so much Dusty. Thank you" he whispered, before closing his eyes again.

--------------------------------------------

Jenna and Balto smiled at each other as Toby padded outside. She nudged him, and gestured to Toby. Balto nodded.

"Toby, can I talk to you for a second?" Balto asked. Toby padded over.

"Yeah Balto?" the pup asked. Balto smiled.

"Toby, your a really nice pup, and me and Jenna have enjoyed you being here"

"I've enjoyed being here too Balto" Toby smiled, which faded suddenly. "Your not...your not getting rid of me are you?"

"No. Not unless you wanted to leave" Balto replied, a smile on his face.

"Ok. Is that what you wanted to tell me?" Toby asked.

"That, and...we want you to stay" Balto said.

Toby stared at him "Really? With you guys?"

Jenna nodded "We'd like you to stay, be part of our family. If you want to"

Toby wagged his tail "You bet I do!" he smiled broardly.

Balto smiled "We want you to have a family, one that loves you and wants to take care of you. And if you want, we can do that for you Toby"

Balto was taken aback as Toby jumped him and hugged him tightly.

"Thanks Balto" he smiled up at him. Balto ruffled his head.

"Your welcome...son"

--------------------------------------------

Dingo was thrown back inside the room. He felt blood slowly trickling from the bite wound on his back leg, and his vision was spinning.

He just lay there, smarting from the cuts that slowly trickled blood onto the floor.

Despite the intense pain, he felt his eyes start to flicker, and before he knew it, he was asleep.

--------------------------------------------

Dingo snapped awake at the sound of voices from the other side of the door. Perking his ears up, he could make out three voices, one of which he knew only too well.

"Quit struggling! You'll need to conserve your strength for later" Frost's voice came out muffled at first, but became clearer every second.

Dingo frowned. He didn't recognise the other two voices.

"Get your filthy paws off me!" one of the voices, a female, yelled.

"If you hurt her, I swear I'll...!" the other voice, this one male, growled, obviously at Frost.

Frost laughed "You'll what? Believe me, you won't do a thing!"

Dingo heard growling, followed by the sounds of a scuffle. He winced as a loud crack came to his ears, then a pained yelp.

"Do I make myself clear?" Frost snarled. The other voices didn't answer.

"Good" the German Shepherd drolled.

Dingo dropped to the floor and feigned sleep as the door swung open, and two dogs were shoved inside, both collapsing to the floor.

"You've got company Dings!" Frost sniggered, slamming the door shut. Dingo heard the bolt slide shut, locking the door.

He looked up at the two new occupants with concern. Both were an identical shade of gray, with lighter areas round their paws. As he watched, the male staggered to his feet and moved towards the female.

"Heather? Heather, are you okay?" he asked the other dog. Dingo kept still, fearing the worst, until he heard a groan and Heather got to her feet.

"Do I look okay Elliot?" she winced, but managed to force a smile. Elliot licked her cheek.

"No, but I'm glad your okay" he nuzzled her.

Dingo realised that neither of them had noticed his presence. Lifting his head up, he cleared his throat with a cough. His fellow captives span round in alarm.

"Hi!" Dingo smiled.

Elliot frowned, and stepped in front of Heather protectively.

"Who are you?" he demanded. Dingo got to his feet.

"Well, I guess I'm your cell mate" he replied. Elliot's brow furrowed.

Dingo raised a paw "Hey, I'm in the same boat as you guys. I don't mean any harm"

Heather stepped out from behind Elliot "Did he...capture you as well?"

Dingo nodded "Yeah. Are you two alright, you look pretty beaten up"

"We're fine" Elliot replied firmly. Heather snorted.

"We are far from fine Elliot! I...I don't think I'll ever be 'fine' again" she sniffed.

Elliot sighed, and nuzzled her "Hey, come on sis. Don't get teary on me, please?"

"You two are...brother and sister then?" Dingo asked, walking a few steps closer.

Heather nodded "Yeah. I'm Heather, and this is my brother Elliot"

Elliot nodded his head once in recognition. Dingo smiled.

"Nice to meet you. I was afraid I'd be alone here"

Elliot huffed "Well, we're happy to oblige!"

Heather scowled at him "Elliot, he's trying to be friendly!"

"Heather, we don't know who he is! For all we know, he could be a spy for him out there!" Elliot replied fierecely, casting a suspicious glance towards Dingo.

"I'm not a spy, I assure you" Dingo answered. "Believe me, I don't mean you guys any harm"

Heather nodded "I believe you. You seem really nice"

"So did that guy out there, and look what happened!" Elliot growled.

Dingo's brow furrowed "Is that how he got you? Talked really smoothly, and then took you by surprise?"

Elliot nodded "Yeah. How did you know?"

"I've had run ins with dogs like him before" Dingo suppressed a shiver, recalling past events involving his father Balto, and a seemingly friendly dog by the name of Carver.

Heather suddenly noticed something "Elliot, your bleeding!" she walked over to him.

"It's fine, it's just a scratch" Elliot replied. Dingo realised it was far from the truth. Elliot's shoulder had been bitten into, and was slowly oozing blood from the wound.

Heather lay a paw on his good shoulder, and lowered him to the floor "Here, let me clean it" she

I liked this one as well as the others ;) Now I know the history of The Pack, but good, you left room for another sequel! I just hope it doesn't start out with murders again...no offense but it's getting kind of old. And WHAT'S gonna happen to Vance??! I still remember what Grant did to him in Return Threat! Anyhoo, keep up the good work, chum!:P
