feet.
"I've gotta finish this. For Stacy"
Whistler slashed at Chester, missing his face by mere inches. Chester reeled back, and Whistler took the chance and clamped his jaws down on Chester's paw. He began shaking his head sideways, opening the wound up further and jarring the bones. Chester cried out in pain. He heard a pop, and he lost movement in his injured paw.
Whistler span round, and the momentum sent Chester careening into the wall, his back impacting with the rock. Chester slumped, and Whistler padded over, a confident smirk plastered on his face.
"I can't do this! He's too strong" Chester thought. His mind cast back to Stacy, the pups, and then further back to...
Trix.
"No. I have to do it. For Trix!"
Whistler's smile faded as Chester lunged at him, renewed strength coursing through his veins. He latched onto Whistler's front leg, and swung him round. The mute wolf impacted head first with the wall with a crack. He slid to the floor leaving a crimson trail. Chester grasped his neck, and twisted. Whistler went limp and sagged to the floor.
Chester panted for breath, wincing as the pain in his paw returned.
"That was for you Trix" he said aloud, before heading off towards the battle once more.

Zao grinned savagely as he sunk his claws into Kodi's shoulders.
"And when I'm through with you, I'm gonna have my way with that bitch of yours!" he sniggered. Kodi tried to get loose, but Zao was bigger and stronger.
"Bye bye husky!" he silver wolf chuckled. Kodi looked up at the gleaming jaws that were about to sink into his flesh.
Suddenly, Zao yelped as something barged into him sideways. Kodi stared open-mouthed.
"Dusty!?"
Dusty was on top of Zao and immediately began burying her teeth into Zao's exposed underbelly. Zao yelped and struggled, but Dusty held on with a death grip on his flesh.
"This is for what you did to me back in the alley!" she snarled, Zao's blood trickling down her throat, making her feel nauseas. She then raised a paw over Zao's head, and brought it crashing down. It impacted with his skull, and he went limp with a crack.
Dusty looked down at Zao's body, and spat on him.
"That's for Kodi you creep!"
Dusty padded over to Kodi and nuzzled him, amused at his bewildered expression.
"Dust...how did...you...?" Kodi stuttered. Dusty smiled.
"Hey, I couldn't just let him kill you could I?"
Kodi got to his feet "Dusty...that was incredible!" he smiled.
"I told you Kodi. I'm still the same old Dusty. Just a bit tender at the moment, that's all"
Kodi smiled "And I wouldn't have it any other way"

Chris faced Grant; his back pressed against the wall. Grant laughed.
"It's a shame. I really like you Chris. But I guess you have to learn the hard way why no one screws with Red Grant!"
Chris reacted as Grant lunged at him. He span round and kicked out his back legs, impacting Grant in the stomach. Grant recoiled, spitting blood from his mouth. He glared at Chris, and attempted to grab him with his jaws. Chris jumped away from the attack and grabbed the rabid round the neck.
Both of them grappled dangerously close to the ledge.
Aleu darted out onto the ledge, just in time to see Grant throw Chris off his back. Chris impacted the floor with a bone-jarring crack, and went limp. Grant eyed Aleu hungrily, and took a step forwards.
Grant grinned, but then stopped, confusion spread across his face. He looked down sharply at his neck.
Chris's claws had torn into Grant's throat, and when Grant had thrown him off, Chris had taken a fair share of it with him. Blood was soaking from the gaping wound, staining his fur bright crimson, and sending squirts of it splashing onto the ledge floor.
Grant tried to speak, but only blood escaped from his mouth. He began pawing at his chest; his eyes wide open in panic. He staggered back against the ledge as Aleu watched in horror.
Grant stared at her with a look of pure hatred, before his eyes suddenly glazed over as his heart skipped several beats. He slipped against the edge of the ledge, and with his arms outstretched he went over. Aleu ran over to the edge and watched as Grant plummeted two hundred feet to the ground. She looked away as he impacted.
Down below, the fighting wolves stopped grappling as they saw Grant fall. They all looked round, at the carnage before them. No one moved to resume the fighting.

Saba bolted out of the alcove, and surveyed the scene before her. She looked with a grimace at the large pool of blood that Grant had left, and then with a start at Aleu who was standing over Chris's limp form.
Something suddenly clicked in Saba's head, and she realized that even after everything he had done she was still in love with him.
"Is he...is he okay?" Saba asked quietly as she padded up to Aleu. Her sister nodded.
"He's still breathing"
Saba watched a Chris's chest slowly rose and fell, and looked at the blood spattered on his face and paws.
"He's bleeding, look!" she said in panic. Aleu shook her head.
"It's not his. He tore Grant' throat out" she said. Saba sighed with relief. Aleu looked at her.
"Anyway, why do you care how he is? He's a traitor, remember"
Saba nodded "I know, but...but I still love him"
Aleu stared at her as if she was mad "You can't be serious?"
"More serious than I've ever been in my life" Saba replied. She looked down with a start as Chris let out a ragged cough.
"I...I love you too...Saba" he stuttered. Saba smiled and nuzzled him.
Aleu sighed "Well, I guess we know whose side he's on now. And I have to admit it, we'd all be dead if it wasn't for him. I suppose...I can give him another chance"
Saba smiled "Thank you Aleu"
Aleu returned the gesture "Just make sure you keep him in check, okay?"
Saba nodded, and nuzzled Chris. Aleu looked up as Balto, Dingo and Lance padded onto the ledge.
"Everyone, I've got a lot of explaining to do" Aleu said.

Grant opened his eyes.
His eyes widened as he noticed the intense heat for the first time. Hot didn't even come close to describing it.
Wiping the sweat from his brow, he realized with a start that the right side of his face was once more covered with fur. No scars, no lacerations, nothing. He was back to the way he used to be.
His joy was short lived as he sniffed something. Something burning. It was him.
With a yelp, Grant began to hop from paw to paw, as he realized the rock he was standing on was glowing white-hot.
"Where the hell am I?" he yelled, his pads beginning to blister.
Dark laughter filled his ears, and he looked up with a start as four eyes gleamed at him. One pair were red, the other pair were black. Grant shivered.
"They all say that when they first arrive" the red eyes laughed, the voice coming out more like a wail than a voice.
"Arrive? Arrive where?" Grant stuttered, his paws now beginning to literally melt into the floor.
"I should think that that's pretty obvious Grant" the other pair of eyes drolled.
Grant looked up with a start as a wave of orange liquid burst up in front of him. Looking down, he realized he was standing on a ledge, overlooking a river of fire. The heat was unbelievable.
Two smells overpowered his senses- sulphur, and burning flesh.
"Welcome to Hell, Grant" the eyes said in unison, their laughter drumming through his ears. Grant shivered.
"Who...who are you?" he squeaked, not realizing he was now on the verge of toppling into the fiery vat beneath him.
The black eyes laughed "I'm The Bad Wolf. And it's way past your bedtime"
Grant began shaking as a pair of burnt paws suddenly materialized in front of him, before they pushed him over the edge, and down towards the fiery pit.
And all he could do...was scream.
-------------------------------------------------
Heller kept running. He hadn't stopped running since he had seen Grant fall to his death, and he wouldn't stop until he was sure he was safe.
He had plans for Aleu He would make her pay for their defeat, and he would make sure Chris paid for his betrayal. He thought about the satisfaction he would get when he saw the life snuffed out of him.
His thoughts were cut short when he heard a loud snap, and suddenly felt excruciating pain serge up his leg. He looked down.
He was caught in a trap, the razor sharp barbs sticking into his leg, blood seeping from the wound. He howled in pain, and began to devise a plan to get himself loose.
That's when he heard the rifle click. He span round, and came face to face with the barrel of a shotgun, aimed at his head.
He began to cry as the hunter pulled the trigger...

Chester silently padded inside the chamber he and Stacy shared. Careful not to wake her, he padded over and nuzzled her. She opened her eyes and smiled at him.
"How did it go?" she asked in a tired fashion. Chester smiled.
"They agreed! It's official!" the husky laughed. Stacy licked his cheek.
"Have you told Balto yet?" she asked. Chester shook his head.
"Not yet. How do you think he'll take it?"
Stacy yawned

Awww.........if I were there, I'd affectionately lick the tears

to wipe her tears away. |
