In a place called Nome there was a terrible blizzard. People were rushing into houses. The sky had turned grey. The sun shone no more. Everywhere there was disaster. But somewhere in this diaster there was a statue that stood pround. It was of a wolf. A wolf named Balto.

"Mommy?" asked a red wolf. "Yes?" replied the mother. "May i leave?" it asked. "No it is to dangerous" she said. "Since when have you cared about me?" she told her mother. "I've always cared about you" she told the daughter. The daughter didnt listen. She turned her head away. She went outside. "Im going to go see Kumo!" she barked. "Es!" the mother called to her daughter. "Come back!".

Es found her self...in the middle of nowhere. She looked around. She couldnt see anything and the snow was hurting her. She turned to which way she though Kumos den was. She howled. She heard... nothing but the wind whispering in her ear. Es was lost and no one she knew was around her.

Es heard a noise. She looked around for an excuse that the noise wasn't from the alpha male. She told herself it wasn't him but she knew it was. If she wanted to stay alive she had to hide. She ran and ran. She turned her head to look back and ran into something. She closed her eyes hoping it wasnt the alpha male then looked up. She opened her eyes surprised not to see the alpha male but..."Kumo?" she asked the little wolf pup. "Es?" he jumped up finally relizing it was her. "Kumo?" Es said walking backwards cauistly. "Yes?" he asked her confused why she was backing up. "Is your dad a bear?" she asked. "No why?" said Kumo. He turned around and saw a giant bear. "Run!" he said to Es. Es ran around the bear and back to Kumos home.

They shook off the ice that was in their fur then went over to their fire. Now this family wasn't your usual wolf family. In fact it wasn't a wolf family. More like a Wolf, Bear, and Seal family. Es layed down next to Ice one of the seal pups. "Hey Es" said Koda one of the wolf pups. He was in love with Es as well Kumo so they usally fought. Koda threw her a bone. "Thanks" she said taking the bone and biting into it. She managed to rip off some.

"Dinner!" Kumos mom said. All the pups raced to dinner like always. And like always Es came in first, then, Kumo, and then Koda. Even though Koda was kind of slow everyone loved him. That is except Es. Then all of a sudden everyone heard footsteps. They all bowed even though they all knew it wasnt the alpha male. In walked Ryu the son of the alpha male. In a way he was like steele but he was much nicer. Es ran up to him. She tugged his ear. They started to play and Kumo put down his ears. He left and sat down in the corner. It took Es 3 hours to relize he was there. Es walked over to him. "Are you ok?" she asked him. "Why aren't you playing with Ryu?" he asked. She felt guilty and then smiled. "Because I'd rather play with two of my friends then one" she replied.

Kumo smiled than got up. Just then the alpha male came in. He looked at Kumo and Es. He snapped at Kumo. "Leave my daughter alone!" he yelled at him. "If i see any of you near he again ill kill you all!" he snapped.As soon as he turned around he felt a pain in his leg. He turned his head to see Ryu biting his leg. He flung him off then ran over to where he landed. He slashed Ryus face. Ryu started bleeding under his eye. He got up and attacked again. This time the alpha male grabbed his back leg and threw him outside. The ice began to crack as Ryu slipped through the ice unconsious. Es looked at the crack in horror. She ran outside and jumped into the water. It was freezing but she knew what she had to do.

She looked around until she could'nt hold her breath anymore. She came up for air. Then she got up out of the water and scrapped off some snow looking for him. When she finally found him she cracked the ice and pulled him up. She tried getting out all of the water out of his mouth. He only squirted out a little. Then Kumo thinking he was dead jumped on him causeing him to spit out the rest of the water. Ryu slowly got up ready to attack again. Es stopped him.Ryu looked at her then went back to the cave. As he passed the alpha male he spit on him. The alpha male growled. He turned around then stopped. her turned back around facing his daughter. "Let's go" he demanded. Es started to walk with her dad. She turned around. She caught up with her dad ready for the long walk home.

When Es got home her mother hugged her. Es slipped away mad. When she went to sleep she heard her parents talking. She knew what they were talking about but as soon as she heard that Ryu would have to leave she got up. She ran to where her parents where. "How could you?" she said mad. She ran away never looking back. She went to Kumos cave. She woke Kumo and Ryu."We have got to leave!" she told them. She led them out into the cold. They were prepared for whatever was going to happen.

been a long road to follow been there and gone tomorrow without saying goodbye to yesterday are the memories I hold still valid? or have the tears deluded them? maybe this time tomorrow the rain will cease to follow and the mist will fade into one more today something somewhere out there keeps calling am I going home? will I hear someone singing solace to the silent moon? zero gravity what's it like? am I alone? is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet still the road keeps on telling me to go on something is pulling me I feel the gravity of it all
