Description : When new dog Carver arrives in Nome, he seems nice. But Jenna is somewhat put off by the new arrivals interest towards Balto. Balto is soon to leave on a trip, but things quickly go downhill for the residents of Nome. When a bloodthirsty pack of dogs attack the town in an unprovoked rampage, it's up to Balto to rush to the rescue. But an encounter with Carver will reveal the deadly secret of 'The Pack' and its leader, and its repercussions for Balto himself. WARNING: If you don't like Balto as the bad guy, I'd refrain from reading this fic. But I still think you'll enjoy this one, so do read on!

I don't have any plans for Carver yet, though the window to bring him back at some point is open. In 'Frost' Carver's brother appears to exact revenge against Balto. This is my next fic which should be up in a few weeks.:P

He thought Balto would succumb to the rabid infection sooner than he did, so that he didn't have to waste his time killing her. But when he didn't he needed to get her out of the way.;)

Thanks for the review Steet. Carver wanted Balto, not Jenna. He intended him to become a member of 'The Pack', and planned to have Grant murder Jenna to get her out of the way. I plan to flesh this out further in one of my next fics.;)

I've read this fanfic (well I do get the time read fanfics sometimes, but don't post a review for all of them) And I really liked it. I fear I miss some vocabulary to tell why, but I really liked how the story was built. That's the first fanfic that deals with rabid (as far as I know) and I think it was clever. Although I'm not fond of the bloody scenes. Also, maybe you could explain : I didn't understant what was the real goal of Carver, did he want to get Jenna? Or something else?
