I like this story. There's a little room for improvement here and there, like the fact that the musher (who presumably would be better known by his actual name than as "Steele's musher") kind of glossed over the professional aspect of dog sledding and focused on the spectator sport side, but it's good. The plot was reasonable, if a bit fast-paced (I doubt they let concussion patients, especially ones who probably also have hypothermia, walk around town the next day), and the interaction among characters was presented pretty well. Keep it up.
