you!” Hunter yelled. “I know I’ve killed a lot of dogs in the past.” Hunter admitted. “But it doesn’t bother me. I’m still the best stray around, I can take care of myself, I can fight off any dog I want, and I escaped that time the vet was gonna kill me.” said Hunter.

“Actually, I’d say Balto was the best. He’s been like that most of his life. No one can stray like he can.” Cooper said.

Hunter growled and looked at Copper. “Who’s side are you on?” he asked bitterly.

“Yours of course, but also, you should just forget about Jenna, it won’t be worth it.” Copper said.

“No. I can never forget about Jenna. I’d never seen a dog as beautiful as her. I may never win her, but at least I can see her every day.” Hunter replied.

“We can’t, we have to leave.” said Copper.

“I know. But maybe it’ll be better out there, no dirty flea-bitten wolfdogs, no fighting losing games, and no vets that try to kill us.” Hunter said.

“Yeah, now there’s gonna be dirty flea-bitten wolves, moose, bears, and who else knows what.” Copper said.

“You’re so negative.” Hunter said to Copper. “It’ll be fine.” he added.

“I’m gonna miss this place though.” Copper said sadly.

Hunter thought for a moment. “You know what, I got a better idea.” he said.

“What is it?” Copper asked.

“How about Balto’s boat?” Hunter said as he looked to Copper.

“Live there you mean?” Copper asked.

“Come on!” Hunter yelled.

“Hunter, you’re not giving up are you? I thought you had dominance.” Copper said.

“Just until we can figure out what to do.” Just then, Hunter froze.

Copper looked confused. He could tell that Hunter was staring at something behind him, so he turned his head. An what he saw nearly knocked them off their paws. It was Brendon, the Pyrenean Mountain Dog.

Hunter laughed. “Well look who it is, it’s the huge dog that couldn’t even defend himself against me.”

“Hunter and Copper, I figured I’d see you here.” Brendon said. “I heard you guys are strays now, not all that popular either.” Brendon teased. “Well, I guess its not all that different. You weren’t so hot down in the New York country either.” he added.

Hunter let out a growl, as he went into the pouncing position.

Copper new that he was supposed to do the same, but he refused. He took two steps back, still looking at Brendon.

Hunter looked up at Copper, then stood at natural posture, giving him a questioned look.

“Not now Hunter, c’mon, we have to go.” Copper said as he turned away. Hunter was furious, but he wasn’t going to kill his best friend over it. Mainly because Copper was his only friend. They both walked off to Balto’s boat.

Brendon smiled, then turned and ran off to the old mill.

(Meanwhile)

“Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoooo! That was awesome!” Decoy yelled and he ran in a small circle.

Rylie looked at Balto. “So, how did the fight get started this time?” he asked.

“I don’t know.” Balto said as he looked at Jenna.

“Well....I passed by the alley, and then Hunter came out. I wanted to leave...” Jenna then looked at Togo. “...but Togo wouldn’t let me step down. He made a bet with Hunter, if we win the fight, Hunter has to leave.” Jenna explained.

“Did you Togo?” Scout asked.

“Yeah, and we won. So now they’re gone for good.” Togo said.

“You shut up! You nearly got some of us killed!” Rylie scolded.

“Hey don’t blame this on me!” Togo growled.

“If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be in this mess, look at everybody! They’re covered in cuts and bites!” Rylie yelled.

“I can’t believe you would put them in this kind of danger!” Buller scolded.

“And you think it’s my fault?” Togo asked.

“Jenna certainly didn’t start that fight!” Rylie snapped.

The two dogs snarled at each other.

“But you guys, Hunter and Copper are finally gone. Just think about that.” Jenna said.

“Both of you! Knock it off!” Balto demanded.

Rylie and Togo stopped growling. Rylie looked at Balto, then sneered at Togo.

“Let’s go you guys.” he said calmly and quietly. Rylie started walking back to town and his gang followed as Togo sneered.

Balto looked at Togo, then turned towards Rylie and cantered, then slowed to a trot. Balto’s team followed as Togo turned and walked away, with his head hung low.

The dogs who were going on the trip went into the old mill and laid down.

“I can’t wait ‘till we leave tomorrow, I won’t have to deal with that mut, Togo, every day.” Rylie said angrily.

“Calm down Rylie, He’s not that bad.” Scout said as she lied down next to him. Rylie had always liked Scout, and he knew that Togo did too. It was like they were secret rivals for her affection.

“Enough Rylie. He’s not a mut, he’s a pure bred lead dog. That’s why your jealous of him.” said Banshee.

“Why would I be jealous of him?” Rylie asked.

“Cuz he’s a pure bred, and a lead dog.” Banshee said as he smirked.

“Let’s just not think about that. We’re going on a trip tomorrow, lets just look forward to that.” Balto suggested.

The next morning, Balto was awakened by Rosie, in her living room.

“Ready for the trip Balto?” She asked.

Jenna ran up to Rosie as she barked. She licked Rosie’s face and then Rosie gave Jenna a big hug.

Rosie ran upstairs to check and see if her parents were ready.

“Excited?” Jenna asked.

“You bet!” said Balto. He stretched and shook his fur.

“Wait...where are the pups?” Balto asked as he looked around.

Jenna chuckled. “Don’t worry, a friend of the family is watching them.” Jenna explained.

“Why aren’t they gonna watch us too?” Balto asked.

“I guess our owners wanted to take us on vacation with them.” Jenna replied.

Rosie and her parents came down the stairs and opened the door.

“Let’s go you guys.” Rosie’s father said to the dogs.

They dropped Rosie off at the friend’s house where the puppies were already waiting, and then walked to the edge of town where the ocean was, and a friend, who had his boat waiting for the trip.

Rosie’s parents arrived with Balto and Jenna and loaded them onto the boat with the other six dogs and their owners.

They soon set sail along the coast of Alaska, heading north.

Deborah’s house was right near the ocean, where the boat had docked.

When they got to the house, they all got out and un loaded their dogs. It was a beautiful sunny day, summer was here, and the snow was almost gone. The dogs ran off the boat and followed their owners to Deborah’s house.

The dogs stopped and looked around as they sniffed the air.

Deborah walked out of her house, and up to the dogs and their owners. She was a 28 year old woman, and had straight red hair at shoulder length.

“Hi!” she said.

“Hey!” How are you?” Jessie asked.

“I’m great!” Deborah replied. “So which one of these is Balto?” Deborah asked.

“This one right here.” Rosie’s father said as she patted the head of the wolfdog standing next to her.

Deborah widened her eyes. “That’s Balto?” she asked.

“Yeah, this is him.” Rosie’s mother replied.

“He’s beautiful!” Deborah said as she knelt down.

“Don’t worry, he’s very friendly, half wolf or not.” said Rosie’s mother.

Balto approached Deborah and licked her face as he got a nice scratch behind the ear.

Deborah was introduced to everyone as the dogs talked.

“Wow, this place looks great.” Sage said.

“Yeah, there’s a huge field, lots of grass, a pond...” said Scout.

“Yeah, I think I could get used to this place.” Decoy said as he turned towards the other dogs.

“Why would our owners want to take a vacation here?” Brendon asked.

Balto walked over to the group of dogs. “Don’t you like it here?” he asked.

“Yeah, but why would our owners want to stay here?” Brendon asked again.

“Hmm...you have a point there Brendon.” Jenna said as she walked up beside him.

“Where are they going?” Steele asked.

The dogs looked at him, confused, then looked in the direction he was staring. The dogs were very confused now, they saw their owners getting back onto the boat.

“What’s going on?” Jenna asked.

The dogs stood there and watched as
