What they didn’t know was, Jenna was looking at the both of them through the window. She was somewhat jealous, but she knew that Balto would never cheat on her. She didn’t feel like bothering him, so she just quickly ran home and went inside.

The next morning, Jenna was walking down the street looking for Balto, she was very confused When she woke up and couldn’t find him anywhere. She then saw Amber and Sylvie, the gossip queen, walking down the side of the road, talking.

 

“So what’s up with you?” Sylvie asked, hoping she could get some good gossip to spread through the town like wild fire.

 

“Well nothing much...except one thing.” Amber said. She stopped in her tracks and looked at Sylvie.

 

Sylvie looked back at her, then stopped and stood in front of her. “What is it?” she asked.

 

“Well um..me and Balto...sort of...spent the night in the team house last night.” Amber explained.

 

Sylvie gasped. “What happened?” she asked. 

“Well you know we’ve gotten very close over time, and we’ve become really god friends now...” Amber began.

 

“Yeah? And?” Sylvie asked again.

 

“Well we um...” Amber began to giggle as she looked at Sylvie.

 

Sylvie gasped again. “You didn’t!” she yelled.

 

Amber smiled and nodded.

 

Jenna couldn’t believe what she had just heard. She ran over to the two dogs. “WHAT?!” she yelled.

 

Her scream was heard by other dogs too, the trio, Steele, Togo, and many other dogs came to the scene and they all circled Amber.

 

“What? What? What’s going on?” Kaltag asked as all the dogs quieted down.

 

“Balto two-timed Jenna! With Amber! In the team house last night!” Sylvie yelled.

 

All the dogs gasped and all began to look around and talk to each other in complete shock and disbelief. All the dogs except for Kaltag, he sneered, because he knew that Amber was lying.

 

“No! It can’t be true!” Jenna said.

 

“It is Jenna. I’m sorry, I knew it would be bad, but he just got to me, you know?” Amber said, sounding guilty.

 

“I can’t believe this!” Steele said.

 

“No.” Jenna whispered. She turned around in tears, and ran of to the team house to find Balto.

Later that day...

 

Steele, Rylie, Sage, and Scout were all lying down in the boiler room, talking. When all of the sudden, they heard Balto and Jenna coming towards them, yelling and fighting.

 

“What’s going on?” Rylie asked as he quickly stood up.

 

“I don’t know.” Scout said as he stood.”

 

“Quick! In here!” Steele said as he crawled into the small space that lead to the broken bottles under the hospital.

 

All the dogs ran in and hid inside there.

 

“What is it?” Sage asked.

 

“Oh no.” Steele said.

 

“Do you know what’s going on?” Scout asked as she looked at Steele.

 

“Yeah, I guess Sylvie’s gossip hasn’t gotten to you guys yet.” Steele replied.

Balto and Jenna ran into the boiler room.

 

“I can’t believe you would do this to me!” Jenna yelled.

“Jenna, I didn’t do anything!” Balto yelled.

 

“Balto! You had a one-night-stand with Amber!” Jenna yelled.

All the dogs , except Steele, under the floor gasped.

 

“Oh my god.” Sage said in disbelief.

 

“He wouldn’t do that though! It’s not true.” Steele said.

 

“I don’t believe this!” said Scout.

 

“Let’s get out of here, this place is creepy.” Sage said.

 

Sage blocked her path. “No! We can’t go out there!” Scout said.

 

“Why?” asked Rylie.

 

“Because they’ll know that we’ve been listening!” Sage whispered.

“I know you love her Balto, I saw you, and she told us what happened!” yelled Jenna.

 

“She’s lying! I don’t know why she made that up!”

 

“I can’t believe that to you, she’s worth jeopardizing our RELATIONSHIP!” Jenna barked and growled viciously as she said her last word.

 

Balto crouched down and paused for a few moments, then quietly snarled.

Steele, Sage, Rylie, and Scout were still standing by the entrance to the underground room, listening in on what was happening.

 

“She believes what Amber said.” said Steele.

 

“Should we do something?” Sage asked.

 

“Yeah, never cheat on Jenna.” Rylie said as he backed away from the entrance.

 

“Balto never cheated on Jenna!” Steele snapped.

“And then you were going to keep this from me!” Jenna shouted.

 

“I’m telling you I didn’t do anything! We just spent the night there! I was to tired! I fell asleep before I could get home!” Balto yelled.

 

“Oh sure!” said Jenna angrily.

 

“Jenna, I’m serious.” Balto said calmly.

 

Jenna didn’t believe him. “I cant believe you would do something like this.” she said sadly.

 

“No, I didn’t. Please you have to believe me.” Balto said miserably.

The dogs under the floor were silent for a moment.

 

“They’re gonna get through this right?” Rylie asked.

 

“Well yeah. It’s Balto and Jenna....they’ve got to.” said Steele.

 

Sage was lying down, and all of the sudden she lifted her head and looked at the other 3 dogs. “What if they don’t?” she asked.

 

The other 3 were silent and looked at each other.

“Look Jenna, she’s a really good friend of mine, but I never meant for things to turn out this way. And I have no idea why she’s doing this to me.” Balto said.

 

“Why can’t you just admit it? I saw you in there, other dogs saw you in there, and she told us what was going on!” Jenna screamed.

 

“I don’t love her!” said Balto.

 

Jenna just sneered at him, but said nothing.

 

“And even though I thought that at time you were being seduced by Hunter, I never made a big deal out of it, because I trusted you.” Balto asked.

 

“Don’t try to blame this one me! You know he could never seduce me!” Jenna said as she growled.

 

“You used to like him.” said Balto.

 

“He was different then, and that was a long time ago!” Jenna yelled.

 

“Some things don’t change.” Balto said quietly as he approached her.

 

“And some things...like you..do change.” Jenna whispered.

 

“Jenna I love you, and you know that I don’t want to lose you....because...you know it’s...you.” Balto said.

“Aww.” said Sage and Scout.

“From the very first moment I saw you, I loved you.” he added quietly.

 

“Balto...I used to think of you as someone who would never ever hurt me. Ever.” said Jenna as she began to cry.

 

“I would never hurt you.” said Balto, a tear shed from his eye.

 

“I’m sorry Balto but...” Jenna began, but then paused to think of what to say.

 

Steele and Rylie were lying down, resting their heads with the most miserable faces. Sage and Scout were lying down, crying.

Jenna continued. “But you’re just a totally different dog to me now. It’s just changed...its changed everything.”

 

Balto sat up. “But...this....this can’t be it.” Balto said.

 

Jenna paused and tired to hold back more tears from coming. “Then how come it is?” Jenna said as she cried.

 

Jenna ran out the door, full of anger.

 

“Jenna wait!” Balto yelled.

 

The four dogs were trapped under the hospital, unable to leave with Balto still in the boiler room. They laid down and whispered to each other.

 

Jenna ran over to the old mill. She peeked inside and saw that it was empty. She walked inside and lied down as she cried.

 

Half an hour later, Nikki, Kaltag, and Star walked in.

 

“Jenna, what is it?” Nikki asked.

 

“It’s all over with Balto.” she replied.

 

“WHAT!” Star yelled.

 

Kaltag sighed. “I knew I should’ve chased after you.” he said.

 

“When?” Jenna asked.

 

“When you ran away from the crowd.” Kaltag answered.

 

“Why?” she asked.

 

“I know what really happened with them, I was there in the team house later that night. All they did was sleep, Then I went back there to see if Balto was still there, and I saw Amber just get up and leave.” said Kaltag.

 

“Are you serious?!” Jenna asked.

 

“Yeah! Me and Star were with Kaltag, dere.” Nikki said.

 

“Amber lied, Balto never did anything!” said Star. “Look
