ran as fast as he could and rammed into the Shepard mix and barked. All the dogs except Bandit and Steele stopped fighting. Right when Bandit was about to nearly break Steele’s jaw, Balto jumped in as he growled. Balto bit Bandit on the shoulder and Bandit whined loudly. Bandit fell over on his side as he whined. Balto stood in front of him and growled. Bandit immediately got up, and ran towards Togo. He bit Togo on the back, and Balto came up to the side of Bandit and shoved him away with his arm. Bandit scratched Balto’s chest. Balto backed up a little from the blow, and clenched Bandit’s muzzle in his teeth. Bandit thrashed and struggled to get away, but Balto just wouldn’t let go. Balto finally tore his teeth off of Bandit. Bandit shook his head to get rid of some of the blood. Balto ran up to Bandit as pushed him with his two front paws. Bandit rolled away, and eventually came to a complete stop. He slowly tried to get up, as he cringed. Balto jumped on Bandit, plunging him into the snow, and immediately jumped off and landed. Balto turned to Bandit and growled. Balto, covered in bloody cuts, walked up to Steele, and he and Star helped him up, as Nikki and Kaltag assisted Togo.

The mushers grabbed onto Bandit and held on tight as the towns people walked up to Balto.

They began patting him on the head, and praising him for protecting his friends. Jenna ran up to Balto and nuzzled him.

Rosie and her family ran up to the dogs with Balto and Jenna’s litter of puppies. The pups jumped around and played happily.

Balto was the hero again, he was able to keep his Golden Collar, and his place as champion sled dog. People continued to cheer for Balto, the hero.

Kemo howled in the distance.
