Kemo’s den. When they arrived, Balto stood in front of the entrance and looked around, and sniffed to stick the sent of his new home in his memory.

Kemo stood in the entrance way and turned to Balto. «Ever had caribou before?» Kemo asked. He lied down and took a bite of a half eaten caribou.

«Only once.» Balto answered. He walked in the entrance way and lied down next to Kemo. He took a huge bite the delicious caribou.

«Kemo?» Balto asked.

«Yeah?» Kemo said.

«Remember at the bottom of the cliff when we first met?» Balto asked.

«Yeah, why?» said Kemo

«How did you end up all the way over here? That cliff is miles and miles and miles away.» Balto asked, puzzled.

«I was tired of living out in the middle of no where, almost no other animals lived out there. I knew that you must have been going somewhere, and I was hoping it would have more food. So I followed your tracks back to Nome.» Kemo explained.

The next night, back in Nome, Jenna was lying down in the boiler room alone, with her head rested on the wood floor. She missed Balto terribly, she didn’t know how she would overcome this, people were beginning to hate Balto again for attacking Bandit, rumors were flying all over the town. Jenna wanted to be with her pups, all their playing would surely get her mind off everything, but she was too upset to even bring herself to her feet. Memories with Balto began flashing through her mind, but all of that stopped when she heard a high-pitched voice in the doorway. Jenna perked her ears and looked to where the voice was coming from.

«There you are Jenna, everyone’s been looking all over for you.» Dixie said. The pampered show dog trotted in and sat down next to Jenna.

Jenna found the strength to sit up. «Why didn’t anyone look in here? This is where all the dogs like to go once in a while.» Jenna asked.

«Well this hasn’t exactly been one of your favorite places after Steele framed Balto with the string of sausages.» Dixie explained.

«I suppose.» Jenna said quietly.

«You miss Balto, huh?» Dixie said miserably.

«I don’t know what I’m gonna do, Dixie.» Jenna said.

«We all miss him, Jenna.» said a deep yet feminine voice.

Jenna and Dixie looked in the doorway.

Sylvie walked in and sat on the other side of Jenna. «Things really have been different around here without him.» Sylvie said sadly.

«I can’t believe that Balto would really leave.» Jenna said.

«He was only doing what he thought was best.» said Steele who was standing in the doorway.

Jenna looked at him with the most furious look on her face. «No! You made him leave!» she yelled.

Steele walked over to her. Dixie moved out of the way and Steele laid down next to Jenna.

«I checked on your pups for you, they’re sleeping right now.» Steele said.

A tear ran down Jenna’s cheek. «I can’t believe he’s gone.» Jenna sobbed.

«I know, but I don’t want the vet to kill him. No one does, Jenna.» Steele said.

Jenna stopped crying and looked at him. «I can’t believe you said that. After all those times you pushed him around and tormented him.» Jenna said.

«I misjudged him, I was wrong.» said Steele.

Jenna began to cry again. Steele nuzzled her behind the ear as tears began to run down Sylvie and Dixie’s cheeks. Jenna laid her head down as she began to cry harder. Steele licked her muzzle a few times and laid his neck over hers. The dogs spent the night there in the boiler room.

The next morning, Jenna woke up, to find that everyone was still there with her, but still sleeping. She slowly stood up and quietly walked out of the boiler room. She ran towards Balto’s boat and ran up into it. She ran to the other side and put her front paws on the rim of the boat. She stared into the horizon, knowing that Balto was still out there somewhere. Just then, she heard a crash. She looked behind her at the small room on the deck of the boat. She saw Borris roll out and land on his stomach. Then Muk rolled and top of him, and them Luk rolled onto Muk.

Borris poked his head out and yelled. «Vill you idiot balls of fluff get off me!» Borris yelled as he tried to squeeze himself out from under the polar bear cubs. He eventually popped out from under the bears. He brushed off his wings and looked at Jenna.

«Jenna? Vat are you doing up here?» Borris asked.

Muk popped his head out from under Luk and spoke. «Look Muk! It’s Jenna!» he came out from under Luk and stood on his hind legs.

Luk made happy whimpering sounds.

Jenna hesitated for a moment, and turned her head back towards the horizon. «I’m going after Balto.» she said.

«VAT?!» Borris yelled.

Jenna turned her head back towards Borris. «Don’t you dare tell anyone!» Jenna growled.

«But who is going to take care of the pups?» Borris asked.

«Rosie can do it.» Jenna said.

«Jenna, please.» Borris said softly. He just couldn’t stand to stay calm about this any longer, he blurted out as loud as he could. «Don’t do this!» He yelled.

«Uncle Borris is right, Jenna!» Muk said.

Jenna jumped over the edge of the boat and ran as fast as she could.

«Jenna no! COME BACK!» Borris yelled as he ran to the edge of the boat. «Oy.» he said as he hung his small head.

Back in the boiler room, Dixie woke up to find that Jenna wasn’t there. She stood up and trotted out the door and stopped. «Where could Jenna be?» She said to herself. She ran to Jenna’s house and jumped in through the doggy door. She searched the entire house, but there was no sign of Jenna. She ran to the old mill as fast as she could and stepped in the doorway. «Is Jenna here?» Dixie asked.

«No, we haven’t seen her since yesterday.» Doc said.

«OHHH!» Dixie yelled in frustration.

She ran back outside and then caught Jenna’s sent. She followed it onto Balto’s boat and to the other side of it. She jumped off the other end and saw Jenna’s running paw prints leading out of town.

«Oh no! Jenna!» Dixie yelled. She ran and followed the paw prints.

Steele and Sylvie were still asleep in the boiler room. But then, Steele woke up, and didn’t see Dixie or Jenna anywhere. He nudged Sylvie with his elbow. «Sylvie, wake up.» he said.

Sylvie opened her eyes and looked at Steele. «What is it?» she asked.

«Do you know where Dixie and Jenna went?» Steele asked.

«How should I know? I was asleep.» Sylvie said.

«Let’s go find Jenna, she’s probably laying down somewhere crying.» Steele said as he stood up.

Sylvie stood up. «Alright, lets go.» she said.

The two dogs trotted out of the boiler room to look for Jenna. They looked in all the places that Dixie looked, but there was no sign of them anywhere.

«Where could they be?» Sylvie asked.

Steele thought for a moment, then spoke. «That goose knows everything about Balto and Jenna, I’ll bet he knows where they are.»

«I’d go, but my owner must be worried about me, bye Steele.» Sylvie said. And with that, She ran off.

Steele sighed and hung his head. A few seconds later, he lifted it and spoke. «Blaze.» Steele ran into the old mill. «Blaze, will you help me find Jenna?» Steele asked.

«Sure.» Blaze said as he stood up and walked to Steele. «Where are we going to look?» he asked.

«Follow me.» Steele said.

The dogs ran to Balto’s boat as fast as they could. Blaze ran around to the other side of the boat to see if anyone was there, and Steele ran up the ramp and jumped. Borris yelled as loud as he could when he saw a huge growling dog hurtling towards him. Steele landed on Borris and held him down by his wings with his two front paws.

«Where’s Jenna?» Steele yelled.

«Oh not again!» Borris screamed.

Steele stopped showing his teeth and lifted his head with a puzzled look on his face. «What do you mean not again?» Steele asked.

«Your old friends came and asked me the same qvestion! The furry vone, the stupid vone and the tan vone! I promised Jenna I vouldn’t say anything!» Borris yelled.

«Aha! So you do know where Jenna is!» Steele said.

«Ahhh!» Borris yelled.

«Where is she?» Steele screamed.

«Borris whined as his bottom jaw quivered.

«Where is she?!» Steele yelled.

«SHE VENT OUT TO LOOK FOR BALTO!» Borris yelled.

«She’s out there by herself?» Steele said. «Oh no.» He whispered.

«Jenna’s going to kill me!» Borris whimpered.

«Wait, Nikki, Kaltag, and Star are out there? I don’t believe this.» said Steele.

«Don’t
