The wolf-dog let out a strong howl that echoed over the snow
His strength returning with each passing moment, he felt alive.

Alive when he knew they were close.
Those two he cared for deeply, that he fought for every moment

His mother, the White Wolf, her spirit standing beside him.
Her yellow eyes wise and full of love and memories.

Memoirs coming back to him, he howled with the spirit of her
How she had loved him more than life itself, for that brief moment together.

Her fur white as snow, holding him tight.
He remembered now, a memory that had been faded long ago.

She held him tight in the wrath of a blizzard,
She who was his only warmth in the darkness.

She who was the White Wolf.
Who fell in love with a husky.

Jenna, the one whom he loved.
Jenna, the candle in a sea of those loathing faces

Her brown gaze meeting his, despite everything about his heritage
When she looked at him in the cellar, he felt trapped blissfully in the moment.

The Northern Lights had kissed their fur,
broken bottles creating something beautiful so easily

The way she had fought for his life selflessly
Against that of the grizzly.

He was right.
There wasn't anything she couldn't do.

He closed his eye's and smiled, rearing his head back.
He would finish the Run, for them.

Thank you, I know my grammar may not be the best, it's not my first language. I guess we will never know what was going through Balto's mind when she appeared in the storm, maybe he recognized her, maybe he didn't. :3

Ordinarily I'm none too partial to free verse, but this is A-OK in my book. Descriptive, emotional, and true to the characters. Though I did notice a few typos, and I suspect that Balto may not have recognized Aniu in the first movie.
