such a fleabag as Nook. She looked over to T.K who was sleeping amongst his pack. She secretly wished he had been the pack leader instead of Nook. Suddenly her stomach rumbled pretty loud and it awoke some in the pack, including T.K.
“Someone’s not used to scarce hunting…” Someone said huffing. “You better get used to it squirt, there won’t be that many successful hunts during the winter.”
“I’m not a squirt!” Anay protested but when several wolves hushed her as they tried to sleep she let it go, muttering as she curled up tighter. T.K tilted his head and sighed. He should’ve understood that she needed a bit more food than the others. But there was nothing he could do about it. His entire pack needed food and the rules were that no one was given more than her pack mate. He hoped she’d last through the winter as he lowered his head down and rested it on his big paws, slipping back into sleep.

The weeks passed and Anay struggled to keep up with the others. Bruno found it easier to go longer without food but for Anay who really needed it he felt sorry and whenever he got the chance to, he gave her a small portion of his own. However one time when he did so one of the members in the pack spotted it and snarled furiously attacking Anay.
“What are you doing??! GET OFF HER!” Bruno snarled and tackled the wolf, sending him off Anay who stumbled backwards, startled by the sudden anger coming from nowhere.
“Hey what’s going on?” T.K jumped in between the angered wolf and Bruno, showing his teeth and growling. “I said I wouldn’t tolerate any fighting. Knock it off!”
“But he gave her a piece of his portion! That’s against the rules!” The wolf excused himself, looking at his leader. T.K frowned inside, he’d seen Bruno doing it but hadn’t wanted to interfere since he knew Anay needed it. But now he had no choice but to deal with it since one of the members had seen it.
“Bruno I believe I have explained the rules to you already.”
“Yes but she needs it! She’s struggling to keep up with us; I see no reason to fight over it? It’s my portion.”
“But rules are rules Bruno.” T.K silenced him and Bruno lowered in submission. “I can’t let this one go. As a punish you will be isolated from the rest of the pack for a week. Now let’s head back to home.”
As T.K left Anay stared at him. “No! Don’t do it! Please he just wanted to help me. It’s not his fault!” She begged as she ran after T.K.
“Please understand, he just wanted to be nice…”
“I do understand Anay. But rules are rules.”
“But he’s the only friend I’ve got here! Can’t you punish him some other way?” Anay desperately looked into the eyes of her leader, searching for a way to make him change his mind. T.K stopped to a halt, looking back at her. The golden female had lost some of her slender muscles during the lack of food but she stilled looked rather beautiful. Her light brown eyes were filled with anxious feeling.
“I’m sorry Anay. I’ve already told my punishment. I can’t take it back once everyone has heard it. I’ve never done it before and it would seem weird doing it now, especially for someone I don’t know. “
Anay’s ears dropped as T.K passed. She exchanged a glance with Bruno who tried smiling but inside he felt sad for being parted from Anay. It’d be the first time since they arrived there. Once the pack was back at the cave the members lied down to rest, most of them falling asleep. Bruno was sent to a place further into the cave, away from Anay. That night Anay had hard time falling asleep. She wanted to go over to Bruno and keep him warm. She felt guilty getting him into this situation and wished there was something she could do about it. T.K noticed  that Anay was awake and silently he got up on his feet, walking over to her. Anay had placed herself a bit away from the rest of the pack even though it was colder lying that way she didn’t feel secure enough to lay huddled against the rest of the pack.
“Hard time falling asleep eh?” T.K whispered and lied down in front of her.
“Oh… maybe.” She answered and curled up tighter. She was upset with T.K for not granting her plea to change Bruno’s punishment. Although she also knew his rules as the Alpha and she knew she’d forgive him after the punishment was done. But for now she’d be upset.
