On April 14th, 1926, a tiny red puppy was born to Rosen and I. We were two very different individuals, Rosen of

course, was proper, purebred, and sophisticated, and I? wild and concealed; eyes as yellow as the setting sun

on the horizon of the flat arctic tundra, and fur as white as the sparkling snow that creaked beneath our feet

as we crept from one drift to the next. Rosen was a beautiful animal, I could remember her eyes as they danced

in the starlight by the ocean's shoreline. We only kept Sylar for as long as the humans would allow us, I

suppose that's the way it is with all families, never truly complete and never appreciated until it's too late to

miss what you have lost. I regret every moment i spent without them, and i wish i was there to say goodbye...

"Come on daddy!!" Sylar howled in his high pitched voice that had only begun to emit from his throat two

days ago, but we knew. We knew from the moment he could open his eyes, he was special, oh yes, you ask if

we had another pup? Well yes, his name was Tiger, why you wonder? He was fearless and powerful, just as

an orage tiger should be, large, brave, but not ambitious, well, not as ambitious as tiger, you see, he was a very

violent pup, he wou,ld gnaw on his younger brother's ears to the point of drawing little red pricks of blood when

he was in a temperous mood. But enough on him, he'll turn up later on, where was I? oh yes... Sylar howled,

I glanced up from the stream to see him leaping with obvious excitement in front of the treeline, beaming and

wiggling his tiny tail through the thin mountain air. I huffed with exhaustion and soreness but pulled myself to

my paws. We set off into the wilderness for our morning hunt. Rosen was still at home in the den, Tiger hadn't

been behaving lately so he was to stay home that day. Though the morning was bright and cheery, I felt a tug of

sadness at my heart as I gazed at my baby pup, we hadn't told them of the humans, we thought it was for the

best, but we never anticipated what would hapen to them. The humans owned Rosin, and they were coming to

take them away that day. It was the collar she wore, I didn't know what it was, but i knew they would use it to

come here and take my precious pups away and possibly, Rosin, I also knew that Sylar just wouldn't be Sylar

anymore if they took him away from me, Rosin thought this was selfish, and how we should let them go on, I

knew of Rosin's other litters, it didn't bother me much, but at times, when I saw how she looked at them like

another job to do, a spark of wist flew through my fur and i wondered how a mother would be so unwilling to

love her children. Rosin had stated "I know they will leave me eventually, but, I think i've already been pushed to

my limits of love... most of the time i don't even know the father, except for the fact that he was just another wolf,

another..."prime donater"" i saw a glance of cold hatred flash through her bright green eyes, it was too much, for

me to see her like that. You see..I had been raised away from my parents, in a dark room, where they only took

me out when they needed me to...well...you know.... I think Rosin knew, I never told her directly, but it was a

natural assumption to make, and I don't blame her. Tiger was a tough, tawny and black puppy, he didn't really

speak much, i should've gotton to know him better before what happened, but after that day, I didn't get another

chance...

---------------- ---------------------- ---------------------- ---------------------- -------------------- ---------------------- -------------------

It was exactly 1:47 PM when they came, I was still out in the forest with Sylar when I heard the howls

and unrecognizable bellows of the humans, I made a split second decision then, and I knew what I had to do.I

jumped forward to Sylar's side and grasped his entire backbone with my jaws, trying to be as gentle as

possible on his soft, newborn skin. I had only ran a few paces when I felt a jabbing pain in my back leg and I

realized with dread, that they had hit me with one of their sleeping darts, I had seen them used in the place

where they kept me a lot, it was a flourescent sun coloured hard thing, they shot it through some kind of pipe

and it made the animals sleep, i was curious and naiive the first time i went over to see it, they shot me too,

they were afraid of me i think, which is completely unnesessary i wouldn't hurt a fly, well, maybe if it got all up in

my face i would but thats not the point, I'm too scared of humans to try anything with them, my father, mother,

and their parents were all killed by humans, and not wgile using a sleeping dart either, they did horrible things,

stabbed them with long rocks that were as shiny and smooth as the top of a vacant green pond in the summer

sun.
