the caves but Nick didn't. He went to the boat where he was born and where Boris found him. He knew his fate and had to accept it. He wakled slowly toward his old sleeping spot and lay down with his eyes open. Fire saw Libby with her pups.

"Oh my! You had your pups!" Fire said excitedly. Libby smiled and nodded. Fire ran to the boat where Nick and Boris where. " Nick! Nick! Libby has had your pups!" Nick smiled and his eyes slowly closed. Fire looked at him once his eyes where closed," Um.. Nick? I thought you'd be more happy! Come and see them! ... Nick? ......Nick! Wake up Nick!" The was no answer. Fire began to cry," Nick!! Wake up!! Don't do this to me! Your the only family I have left! Nick!" A dog called Jamie was watching feeling rather sad. Fire and Boris began to cry. Nick was dead. Fire couldn't cope and she ran to the forest and began to cry in a small ditch.

Boris couldn't cope either. He had raised Nick as his own and he wasn't very nice to him earlier. Boris was walking back to the cave, trying to figure out how to break the news to Libby who was in a great mood. Damon saw Fire and he dug his teeth into her fur and threw her against another tree. She just lay there. She wanted to die too. He lifted Fires head up gently and was ready to slit her throat but Jamie pounced on him pinning him to the ground. "No!" He said. Fire was just lying there crying. Damon ran off and said," I will get you one day Fire, just wait and see!" Jamie lifted up Fire and carried her back to his cave, she had fainted.

Boris was finally at the cave. He wiped his tearfilled eyes and looked at Libby who was admiring her pups. " Wheres Nick?" She said smiling.

Bois sighed," Nick is dead. He died fighting off the bear and Damon. I'm sorry for your loss." Libby's heart sank. She felt her heart breaking and she began to cry. "It's all Pace and Fire's fault! They didn't listen to me when I said there was danger near!!"

Boris hugged Libby, trying to comfort her. It was getting dark and Pace ran off after hearing everything that Libby had said. He kept the tears in since he wasn't one of those who expressed himself much. He saw Damon with blood on his lips. He pinned Damon down," What have you done with Fire?!"

Damon growled," Why is everyone pinning me today? Fire is safe.. another dog saved her but he might kill her. Not sure, just let go of me before I kill you!" Pace growled and tryed to sniff for a dog scent. Meanwhile Jamie was at his cave and lay Fire down. "Your ok now." He said licking her cheek. She woke up and looked around her," Where am I? And who are you?... Am I dead?!" Jamie laughed," Haha no, your not  dead and I'm Jamie. This is my home, I took you here so you where safe." Fire smiled at him, " Thank you but I must get home." Jamie nodded," I will walk you home, it's not safe for you to be alone." Pace ran in the cave and bit Jamie. Jamie growled," What was that for!?"

Pace growled back," Thats for trying to kill Fire!" Jamie laughed, "I'm not trying to kill her, I'm trying to help her!" Fire stood between them," It's true Pace! Hes helping me by walking me home!" Pace growled," Well I'm walking you home now." He and Fire walked home together leaving Jamie on his own. Pace was telling Fire how Libby was mad at both of them for Nick's death. They finally made it back to the cave. "Fire! Pace! It's all your fault that Nick's dead! He didn't even get to meet his pups!" Libby said as she was crying.

Fire growled," It's not our fault! Hes a hero! We are all suffering!" Libby started shouting and they both argued for the whole night. Libby's pups where a bit scared but they where very warm and cosy for a cold night.

The next morning Libby woke up and saw her pups where ok. She looked round and saw Fire wasn't there. She was a bit worried. She had nothing to worry about. Fire was with Jamie and he was showing her how to hunt. She was doing great and Jamie was a great teacher. They where really bonding. " Thanks for doing this Jamie. I need to practice since I feel guilty over Nick's death."

Jamie smiled," No problem, it's the least I can do." She pounced on and elk, pinning it to the ground. "Wow! I'm getting good at this!" Jamie smiled," You sure are!"

Meanwhile Bois was talking to Libby. Libby looked at both her pups. "What should I call them?"

Boris pointed to the male," Nick wanted the male to be Timmy.. " Libby looked at it," Ok Timmy it is.. and this one can be Angela!" Boris smiled at the two newborn pups. She smiled. She wanted her pups to know how much of a hero their dad was. Pace saw Jamie and Fire together, he felt a bit jealous but held it in. Jamie looked at Fire who was happily eating an elk," I heard you say you had no family left.." 

Fire nodded yep, "My parents died in a fire saving me and my brother and my brother just died yesterday.." Jamie nuzzled her," Well.. do you want to be with me? We can start a family.." 

Fire stared at him," I'm not ready to start a family but I do like you.. lets be together!" She said putting her head under his chin. He smiled and wagged his tail. Pace watched as if he was watching a death scene.  He had liked Fire but he had never told her and he thought she wouldn't meet anyone else. He went off in a mood. He was heartbroken. Libby was still with Boris and Libby's old friend went to visit her. Her name was Jenna. Jenna and Libby talked for a long time. Jenna told Libby about her mate Balto and Libby told Jenna about Nick. Boris sat there listening in. Pace walked in the cave and said hello to Libby and Jenna. Fire was looking into Jamie's eyes. They had gotten closer over one day but that one day ment everything. Damon was watching. He missed Fire but he thought killing her would make things better. He walked off leaving them.

"I wont ever leave you!" Jamie said moving closer to Fire.

"Didn't think you would." She said smiling. As the sun set they nuzzled each other feeling very romantic.  Pace walked out the cave and looked around. It was going to get darker but he didn't care. He was so angry and didn't care about anything. He looked over the edge of the cliff looking at the river which was very far down. He felt someone push him and he fell.. fell off the cliff..
