The air started to warm up and the sun hit Lupis's back. Hunting was very good now so he was out catching a few rabbits for the pack. He made sure he got one extra for Sassy and he watched the area around him than he saw Iron the guardian wolf trying to take his mate. Lupis rushed through the woods to beat Iron to Sassy and the camp.

   When Lupis arrived many wolves were heading to the nusery so Lupis just followed. He walked in to see a new pup nuzzling Kaji. Than from behind Iron walked in than he greeted his new pup and just walked out. What a dad thought Lupis laughing to himself. Kaji was a queen she was mates with everybody well half the males in the pack.

   Lupis backed out of the nursery and ran to greet Sassy. Sassy was waiting for him when he got there. "You ready" asked Lupis nuzzling her soft fur. She jumped up and they ran out of camp to go watch the sunset.

The next day

  The next day Sassy wasn't feeling to good and Lupis was worried he had told Iron to take his place in his patrols. He layed with Sassy and when Sassy fell asleep he carefully got up to get her something to eat from the fresh kill pile. When he was walking back he was stopped by Silver. "Is Sassy ok" asked Silver.

"Yeah she's asleep" Lupis said leaning down giving respect to his leader. "I know you and Sassy are mates and she's an omega so I thought she might be able to be..." Silver was stopped by Iron who said "Sassy she won't wake up.

  Everyone ran over but Lupis pushed through the crowd dropping the bird he had had in his mouth. Sassy lay motionless but Lupis pushed on her to get her to wake up and she did. Than Lupis thought that what Sassy had couldn't be a fever but it was more like an infection.

  Than Iron said"If I can't have her no one can" Lupis turned around. His blue eyes started to turn dark red as anger filled every inch of his body. His sharp fangs were gleaming as he attacked Iron. They fought for awhile until Iron was laying on the ground.

  Lupis still growled his fur on his back stood straight up and his tail was over his head. Iron tryed to stand up but Lupis just attacked again. "L...up...i...s" whispered Sassy, Lupis turned around he had been pulled out of his fighting spirit and he layed beside her.

 Wolves tried to make Lupis eat but he refused to eat unless Sassy ate. He layed beside her for long hours not moving an inch way from her. Sassy wake up he thought as she breathed slowy under Lupis's stomach.

A week later

 Lupis was starving at this point but when Sassy awoke she was just fine. He didn't eat anything though until Sassy had eaten a rabbit. Than he ate a small bird saving the prey for his pack. He was about to walk by Sassy but than he noticed something different about her he looked down her neck and shoulders and than knew what was different.

  The wind blew hard as the remaining snow quickly melted away and Lupis was returning back to camp with a squirrel in his mouth. He walked to the omega den and Sassy wasn't there so he walked to his den but she wasn't there either. Than he slowy walked to the nursery and saw Sassy sleeping inside so he smiled layed the squirrel behind her and walked off.

  Iron had been walking back into camp he said "Delta and omegas don't have pups that live." Lupis just kept walking than he growled"touch my pups and they won't be the only ones dead." Iron just pulled his tail high and walked to the nursery.

 Sassy walked out of the nursery to Lupis than he remembered about promising that he would take her to the secret cave. They walked many miles until they reached the east end of their territory. There stood the great tree as both wolves looked up in awe.

 They jumped in the roots but instead of falling into dirt fell into soft grass. Flowers of all kinds circled them and blew with the wind. Lupis picked one for Sassy and than let her rest for the long journey back. When Lupis had dozed off himself he heard a crying sound so he sat back up.

  Sassy was crying so Lupis licked her he felt horrible. "Whats wrong darling" he asked almost in tears himself. "I am going to be a horrible mother and mentor" she whimpered. Lupis frowned than said "What I think you'll be a better mother than any other wolf I know." She turned to him and push her nose in his fur and nuzzled him.

  Lupis knew stress would eat Sassy alive just like it was doing to him. He was also worried about being a good farther himself. He remembered the place where Sassy told him they were going to have pups it was a snowy area and Sassy had told him. As Lupis stood there he could feel the same mixture of feelings he had had then.

A few months later

Sassy was very plump now but Lupis didn't say anything about it. Lupis was stressed out but also very excited but every time Iron walked by Lupis would snarl and give him a nip. Lupis was very protective and didn't even let a leaf near Sassy.

Silver had walked up to Lupis carefully keeping away from Sassy.

"Are you excited" asked Silver looking at him smiling

"Yeah I really am, how do you know" asked Lupis

"I was just guessing" she said still smiling

"Oh and a while back you said something about Sassy" Lupis said

"Oh yeah well when Sassy has her  pups me and Thunder have agreed she can be delta female with you" said Silver

Lupis nearly fell over he had been waiting for this moment his whole life "Thanks" he said wagging his tail he hated to act like a dog infront of the leader but he was just to happy.

 Lupis ran off to tell Sassy and Sassy was just as excited as he was. While Sassy rested Lupis went to get some flower petals and moss. When he returned he layed everything down to make a soft bed in the delta den beside his. He wanted it to be perfect for Sassy.

Later That Night

 Lupis was dreaming about something very weird. In his dream he saw a wolf with 6 pups but he saw a flash and 4 pups were gone. There was another flash and only one stood alone than it flashed but Lupis opened his eyes. He had no idea what kind of dream that was.

 He curled up and fell asleep again and another dream appeared in his head. "Lupis" he heard Sassy call for him so Lupis walked to the den but before he could reach her the dream turned dark and Iron appeared carring a puppy. Than Lupis howled "NO" as Iron killed Sassy.

 "Lupis, LUPIS sir" said a member of the pack. Lupis perked his ears and looked up "huh". "It's your pups" said the wolf. His eyes got wide and he hopped up and ran to the nusery.He smiled looking down on his pus and Sassy licked him and frowned. "What" asked Lupis looking at her.

4 of our pups won't make it" she cryed. Lupis did the same looking at the only two pups that would be his own. The next morning the 4 pups had died but the two pups that lived would be named soon. Lupis named the one with Sassy's color but with his markings Quin. He was the only surviving boy in the litter. The other one was black like Lupis but had Sassy's markings. She was named Luna by Sassy because it meant moon.

3 weeks later

 Quin and Luna were playing together while Sassy watched with Lupis by her side. Lupis was proud of his children. As the sun set over the mountains Quin ran towards his farther "Aren't you taking us to the rock to see the best view of the moon.", "Yes I am" said Lupis "and we should get going" he said.

 The family started up the mountain to the highest peak.When they arrived the moon shone silver. The pups were amazed by the moonlight. After being there for a hour or so they started back towards camp. Sassy went on but Lupis decided to try to find a bird for his pups.

 When Lupis was about to catch one a scream filled the horizon. Lupis barreled towards the sound about to attack for his life. When he got their Sassy lay on the ground motionless than he saw Iron holding Luna in between his teeth. "No" howled Lupis leaping in the air.

 It was too late Luna was dead and Quin was nowhere to be found. Lupis felt a rage he had never had before as he raced towards Iron leaping in the air. He did this crazy technique and it worked Iron had been killed. Lupis was depressed and so was Sassy but one day their lives changed forever.

 Lupis and Sassy were walking to the waterfall together they tried to be happy but nothing worked. When they arrived they heard a cry of a newborn pup. Than they saw a pup coming down the river. Lupis jumped into the river and caught the pup.

 Lupis pulled himself and the pup out of the river. The pup was white with blue eyes and Sassy and Lupis named him Wolfen because he was a strong wolf

 You've heard the greatest love story ever told. Wolfen is still a small pup but is fitting in to his family life but it very sick. More good news is that Lupis and Sassy found Quin and the bad news is that Wolfen was claimed by a queen from another pack. Even though they had tough times they are still in love and Quin is growing up.
