The sun rises. the birds sing. and its a beautiful day in the town with no name. well not for Gomerd. Its been 1 year since the attack at nome. and every morning gomerd would watch the sun rise like what he did with Kate every morning in nome. He did this with the memories of Kate in is heart and his mind wishing she was sitting next to him. He loved Kate like a sister. Gomerd thought about her every day. But on this day was the day he lost her. He sat on the hill waiting for the star to show in the sky. but there was now sign of the star. Gomerd takes a deep breath and whispers to himself.

Gomerd-- Oh kate i wish you where here. *sigh* im so lonely without you. But one day we shall be together once again. i would do anything just to hear your voice one last time.

Gomerd started on his way home with a happy thought of his childhood with his best friend in his mind. As Gomerd was walking home he walked past an alleyway and saw something out of the corner of his eye. He backed up to see what it was. but it was no longer there. but what ever it was it left tracks. Gomerd shrugged and continued home. but before he went home he stoped by his parents home to say hi.

Gomerd-- Hi mom.

Jenna-- Hello honey. how are you?

Gomerd-- Im good. How are you?

Jenna-- Im good.

Gomerd--thats good. Where is dad?

Jenna--He went for his morning walk.

Gomerd-- Ok i have to get home. tell dad i said hi

Jenna-- *giggles* ok. will do. Bye honey. i love you

Gomerd--I love you too mom. Bye

So Gomerd went on his way. and once again he sees something watching him out of the corner of his eye. he looked and once again nothing was there but tracks. Gomerd looks to the sky and saw the star. He smiled and walked into his home. Well it was an empty warehouse. it was warm and nice inside so thats where he stayed. Gomerd closed his eyes. he heard foot steps and he heard a voice calling his name.

Voice-- Gomerd. hey Gomerd

Gomerd opens his eyes.

Gomerd--Oh hi dad.

Balto--hello son. your mother said you stoped by so i came to see if you were okay

Gomerd--Thanks dad but im alright. just a little down today

Balto-- I know. but remember what me and your mother told you. she is always with you. you just have to know where to look. *smiles* 

Gomerd-- I know dad.

And with that they say their good byes and Balto heads back home

Gomerd-- I wonder what shes doing right now (He whispers to himself). well what ever shes doing at least shes in a better place now. *sighs*

Gomerd closes him eyes once again and drifts into a very light nap. hours pass by. while hes laying there he starts to feel like someone is watching him. he opens his eyes picks up his head and sees a dark shadow by a broken window. the shadow picks up its head grunts and jumps out of the window. the grunt sounded to be a womens voice. Gomerd gets up and runs to the window but it was to late who ever was there was gone. He looked up and noticed the stars were out. He went back to his bed and feel asleep.

Gomerd got up early the next day. He went out of town and sat and watched the sun come up. this time the sky was red with an orange tint. It was beautiful. Gomerd hears foot steps come up behind him and hears a womans voice.

Voice-- its beautiful this morning. isnt it?

Gomerds ears shot up. He thought to himself ( i know that voice) that voice wasnt just any voice. Gomerd swung around.

Gomerd-- KATE!!!

Kate-- *giggles* hi Gomerd.

Gomerd ran to to her wrapped his paws around Kate and hugs her as tightly as he could. tears streaming down his face.

Gomerd-- I-i-i cant believe your here i cant believe its really you.

Kate-- Gomerd. i missed you

Kate and Gomerd stood there for what felt like hours.

Gomerd-- Kate i missed you too. i thought i lost you.

Kate- I thought i lost you too.

Gomerd-- Kate I - I - I ohh

Kate pulls her head away.

Kate-- Yes gomerd?

Gomerd lowers his tail and takes a deep breath and looks Kate in the eyes

Gomerd-- I love you Kate.

kate blushes and giggles

Kate-- I love you too gomerd

Kate sneaks a kiss right on Gomerds lips. Gomerd blushes. and hugs her again. Gomerd whispers into kates ear.

Gomerd-- im glad your here. i really missed you.

Gomerd kisses Kate. they stood there for a little bit looking in eachothers  eyes. love rang in their hearts.

Gomerd-- hey kate wanna go see mom and dad?

Kate-- *giggles* i would love to see your parents.

So kate and gomerd ran side by side to balto and jennas home.

Gomerd-- MOM!! DAD!!

Balto-- Easy Gomerd

Jenna-- whats wrong honey. (Said jenna with a worried look on her face until she saw gomerd with a big smile)

Gomerd-- GEUSS WHOS HERE

Jenna-- wow gomerd a little loud. whos here?

Gomerd-- just look

Gomerd turns and yells (come in). kate walked in with a smile on here face

Kate-- hi balto hi Jenna.

Balto & jenna-- *gasp* KATE!! 

kate giggles.

balto-- we thought you died in nome during the attack.

Kate-- no i got out okay. 

Kate looks to the floor.

Kate-- but my parents didnt make it. their lives were taken saving mine. but i survived for a reason. and that reason is to be with gomerd.

Kate sneaks a little kiss on Gomerds cheek. making him blush again.

Jenna-- *giggles* i always knew you two would fall in love some day

Balto-- so did i. its really not that hard to know that mostly, because of how you two were with eachother. 

Gomerd-- Huh?

Jenna-- *giggles* how you two would play. and how you were never apart unless it was time for you guys to come home.

Gomerd-- oh

Kate-- *giggles* i started falling in love with him when we first met. i just didnt want to say anything. *giggles*

i love you gomerd

Gomerd-- *blushes* i love you too.

Jenna-- Awww. Gomerd why dont you bring her home so you can have some time alone with her.

Gomerd-- Okay Bye mom bye dad.

Jenna & balto-- bye gomerd bye Kate.

Kate-- good bye.

So Gomerd took kate and headed home.

Gomerd-- So Kate. was that you watching me sleep last night?

Kate-- *blushes* yes 

Gomerd-- Thats what i thought 

Kate and Gomerd make it home and watch the sun set together 

Kate-- *sigh* Just like old times huh?

Gomerd-- Yea. but only this time we're in love. and its very romantic

Kate-- Yea......... it is.

Kate and Gomerd kiss. they watched the sun hide its self in the horizon. they turn and walk to the bed. they both lay down and coddle with eachother.

Gomerd-- good night Kate. (he kisses her) I love you

Kate-- good night Gomerd. (she kisses him back) I love you too

They fall asleep. side by side.

1 year later. Gomerd was standing with Kate watching the sun rise.

Kate-- its another beautiful sun rise

Gomerd-- yea. its always beautiful with you.

Kate-- aww. thank you.

Gomerd-- Your welcome beautiful.

Gomerd kisses Kate.

Gomerd-- I cant wait until the pups are due.

Kate-- nether can i. I just know your gonna be a great dad.

Gomerd-- And your going to be a great mom.

They hug. and walk home.
