GOMRED PART ONE: A TRAGIC BEGINNING

Gomerd---Ouch! mom let go! your hurting me.. 

Jenna---No Gomerd we need to get out of town as fast as we can...
Gomerd---But mom!..

Jenna---NO BUTS..  NOW COME ON....

Snaps, cracks and pops sound in the distance as Gomerd and Jenna run through town searching for balto. Screams ecko through the alleyways. a loud bang sounds behind them as they turned a corner. peaces of buildings and broken glass are scattered all over the ground. buildings burning all around them. 

Jenna-- BALTO WHERE ARE YOU?? BALTO!!!!!!!!

As jenna continued calling for Balto. Gomerd heard a scratching sound coming from their right. Gomerd looked to his right just in time to see his father running out from behind a building.

Balto-- JENNA! GOMERD! its so good to see you. i've been looking all over for you guys. come on lets get out of here

Jenna-- fine by me. come on Gomerd. Lets go.

Balto, Jenna, And Gomerd start running through town. they make it to the gate out. Balto looks back to see his home before he leaves it for good. Balto turns back to continue running. Then a loud BANG, a flash of light, then darkness and silence. not a sound nor any hint of movement. The air was thin and musty and smelled of sulfur and gun powder.

Gomerd gets up and looks around. Nome is gone, burned and destroyed by the weeks fight. no sign of life. not a breath no movement. just ash and smoke. Gomerd finds himself crying. Crying because his home is no more. his friends gone, his house gone, his heart gone, all that remains of his childhood is the collar his best friend Kate gave him. Balto and Jenna lay motionless on the ground. as Gomerd walks up to his parents thinking they have gone as well. Balto looks up to see gomerd standing over him. then Jenna coughs.

Jenna-- *cough* w-w-what happened? 

Gomerd-- MOM! DAD! are you okay?

Balto-- yea i-i-im alright

Jenna-- im okay. what about you?

Gomerd--im kinda okay. look at our home. its gone. everything gone. *sniff* Kate is gone.

As tears slide down gomerds face. the three of them give their last respects to the town, and to their friends. gomerd gave is last respects to his one and only friend Kate.

Gomerd-- I'll miss you kate. *sniff* i will never forget you------Gomerd lowers his head and whispers to himself-- i love you Kate now and forever. 

So Gomerd, jenna, and Balto head north to a even smaller town with no name.

finally they arrive three days after their journey through the snowy lands of alaska. Gomerd's heart full of sadness from the loss of his closest and only friend Kate.

Gomerd wakes the next morning. feeling empty and lonely inside. he forced himself up right and watched the son rise. hours pass by before Gomerd noticed that he was crying once more. Gomerd lost track of time. the sun started to set. Gomerd lay down next to his mom. then sleep over took his body.

pleasant dreams snuck over him. Dreams from his home and his friend.

Kate-- *giggles* come on Gomerd. catch me if you can.

Gomerd-- *laughs* okay here i come.

Gomerd runs after Kate and tackles her. playful laughs ring through the air as the two of them roll on the ground.

Kate-- Gomerd

Gomerd---Yea?

Kate-- your the bestest friend i ever had

Gomerd-- *giggles* you are too

Kate hugs Gomerd. the two of them do their usual thing before they go home. they sit on their favorite hill on their favorite part on the beach and watch the sun set. when the sun sets Kate turns to Gomerd and hugs him good bye.

Kate-- Good night Gomerd. I'll see you in the morning

Gomerd-- good night kate.

Kate turns away and walks home. Gomerd does the same. The day is over. All is peaceful. Gomerd lays down on his blankets with a smile on his face. he closes his eyes and falls asleep.

And that ends his dream. Gomerd wakes the next morning with a smile on his face from the nights dream of him and Kate. Feeling a little better from his dream gomerd goes and seeks some food for him and his parents. Gomerd returns with there breakfast. Gomerd sits next to his parents and asks his mom

Gomerd-- Hey mom?

Jenna-- Yes honey?

Gomerd--Do you think Kate misses me

Jenna--Of course she does. she's probably watching you right now. 

Gomerd--But how can she be watching me?

Balto--Well when some passes on their spirit leaves the body behind and goes where it wants to

Gomerd--So she wanted to stay with me?

Jenna--Yes she did. you were her best friend. and on what her mother told me she couldn't stand being away from you. so shes with you right now. you just have to know where to look.

Jenna looks to the sky Gomerd follows her gaze. There in the morning sky. A star shining brightly. Not the sun a star. The star looked as a smiling face in the sky watching over him. Gomerd thinks to himself

Gomerd--( so Kate is watching me)

Gomerd smiles. thes rest of the time they ate in silence. Gomerd went to explore the town. The people where very nice. A little boy ran up to Gomerd and pated him on the head. 

After the days exploring Gomerd watched the sun go down and returned home. without a word. Gomerd layed down next to his mother.

Jenna-- Just look at him he's so cute and calm when he's sleeping

Balto--Yea he is. Thats because he's our son.

Jenna kisses Gomerd on the cheek.

Jenna-- good night Gomerd. sleep well.

Kate-- Gomerd!! ohhhh Gomerd. GOMERD!! *giggles* im over here

Gomerd-- Ha i knew that. i think

Kate-- He he you're so funny.

Gomerd-- Hey kate?

Kate-- Yea?

Gomerd--Do you think im a good friend

Kate--*giggles* of course i do. and your my only friend.

Gomerd-- you're an awesome friend

Kate-- so are you.

Gomerd-- I love you

Kate-- i love you too. i have to go now. bye Gomerd

Gomerd. okay. bye Kate

Gomerd's eyes shot open. it was still night when he woke up. what his dream was. was not a memory nor was it a vision. it looked like Kate visited him in his sleep to show him she was watching him. and to let him know that she cares about him. Gomerd took a deep breath and went back to sleep.
