WHY STEELE HATES BALTO

wolfgirl_jenna_balto

This will all be from Steele's point of view...........

Well, Ive been asked why I hate that wolfdog so much. That requires me talking about my feelings, and quite frankly I dont like doing that. But, I will, just to please those imbecels that continue asking this question. I guess It all started long ago, when I was born..........

I was born to an uncaring mother and a father I never actually met. He left before my eyes were able to open, and before my ears were able to hear, but I could smell. When I was able to see and hear, a different male was around. My mother was never with the same male for more than two weeks, and she was pregnant quite frequently, with pups she didnt give a sniff about. All of those pups ended up dead, running away, or sneaking out and eventually dying from the cold. It looked like my siblings and I would end up with one of those fates, as well.

I refused to let it be that way, so I began to sneak my mothers food while she was getting intimate with yet another male. I saw it as a ' you take care of yourself ' kind of thing, so I would drag the much lighter steak over to the corner where my siblings were to blame it on them, but it never worked. My mother had a very keen sense of smell, and always found out it was me. I would be beaten senseless every time.

Soon, all of my brothers and sisters died, and I was getting stronger and stronger, the beatings turned out to help me, making me stronger. This confused my mother. She was pregnant once again, and none of her former pups made it as far as that. She started beating me much harder, and more often. This was done subconciously, since her concious mind was too ravaged with her new passion for the new male, the confusion, and her pregnancy.

This soon made me smarter. I found a cave, not too far away, and began to drag my mother's meals there, and that is where I ate. I ate it all, so it would be harder for my mother to find this secret cave and beat me for stealing her food. She still found it, since she could trace my smell. She ripped open my paw and neck with her teeth, and I was dragged back to the place where I was born; the boiler room. I sat in the corner, licking my paws, but with no way to lick the back of my neck, that went unclean. After a few days, it began to sting horribly, so I limped out into the clean snow and rolled in it, the frozen water melting with my warmth and cleaning my neck.

The springtime rolled around, and I went searching for a new cave. I found one after I had went across a small river and into the forest a bit. The river was perfect, It washed awayy my smell so it would be real hard for my mother to find me. That cave lasted for a long time. I had a flawless cycle; i would wait in the boiler room's closet until my mother was too engrossed in her new male to notice my making off with her meal. I was bigger, so I was strong enough to lift it and sprint back to my cave. I would eat my fill, and rest in there.

My mother's health began to deteriorate, and her anger towards me grew. One night, I decided to sleep in the comfort and safety of my secret cave. She went out hunting that night, and it wasnt for a meal. She found me sleeping in my cave. She gave a low growl and grabbed my neck and threw me. I was startled awake, and I saw her loping toward me. She was furious, she saw all of the bones from her meals. I got up and sprinted away, and she was hot on my trail. I ran to the thicker part of the forest, swerving and sliding around and under trees and bushes, hoping to lose her. I ran across a shallow river, and into a tree-cave. I hid in the safety of the darkness, watching her as she paced. She was really frustrated, losing my trail. She ran off in the opposite direction. I hid in that cave all night, shivering from the cold and the fear.

The next morning I woke with a start, hearing a noise that sounded like a growl. I got up and ran, away from the river, sure she had picken up my scent. I hid under a bush, and heard it again. I didnt run that time, because it didnt sound like my mother. I got up and traced the sound. I got real close, and ran into a bush. When I peeked out, I saw a huge white wolf fighting a large black wolf. There was alot of snarling, an then I heard voices. "You might as well give up, Aniu, give me those pups." the black one said. Aniu said, "I will never, now leave! I am boss here! NOW!" She leapt out and bit his neck, causing him to fall on the ground. "Alright! OK! I'll leave!" The balck wolf ran off.

My eyes followed him until he was gone, and then I returned my attention to the white wolf and her pups. My attention went particularly to a dark gray-brown and lighter tan pup and Aniu. The pup said "Mother, thanks for saving me. Sorry for leading him here. I was just so scared, I didnt know where to run. I didnt mean to put our family in danger." "Shhhhh, its alright. Noone got hurt. I will still love you just the same, Balto. Now go to sleep, my son." They nuzzled, and Balto layed his head down, while Aniu began to lick him lovingly.

I didnt realize that I was crying until they were both asleep. Then a dog walked by my bush, toward the family. I began to watch again.

The dog nuzzled Aniu awake, and they licked each other passionatly. "Good evening, my dear mate. How was your visit?" Aniu said softly. "Great, love. How was your night?" He said quietly. "Oh, the usual. Saving our pups from danger, fighting a foe, a normal night." They chuckled softly. He layed down next to her.

I was crying really hard now. How come that mutt pup got so much love, a present and loving father, a caring mother, and a whole family that was fed and strong, and a purebred malamute like me gets no love, no family, and has to fend for himself? That sadness became hate. I began to hate that wolfdog Balto for having everything I had ever wanted, everything I had ever dreamed of. That was when I left the close family and headed back toward Nome. Then former musher found me, and then Jenna moved in, and Balto moved into the boat, and yadda-yadda-yadda.

Does that answer your question? I hope, because I never want to Talk about this again. Too many feelings in one conversation.
