My neck started to bleed. The collar was too tight. I hated being pinned up like this. My bright red collar was chained to a tree in the woods. I chewed on the chain a bit. I gave up and lied down in the mud. It was my own fault. I bit one of my team mates. That human I spoke of before- Brought me here. My wold blood was different from the dogs. I don't put up with much. I'm short tempered. Whenever a bit a dog, I was returned to the spot for the night. My 'owner' was trying to push the 'mean' outta me. It was nothing like that. This demon was pushing the wolf out of me. I needed to escape. I couldn't.

Come day break and I was harnessed back to the sled. I was next to a big brown dog named Joe. He was a cocky little big-mouth who talked crap. I hated him, and he hated me and that idiot always but us next to eachother on the team. He was the only dog I havn't torn to sheds yet, and the most hated. He was just so much bigger and stronger than me, I figured it wouldn't be a good idea. I only had one friend on the team, who was hooked behind John. You remember Zuko? Yeah, the only other one in the team with wolf blood, even though he didn't know it.
My neck was burning like fire. It still hadn't healed from the last time. Running like this was stupid. Joe glanced over at me. I hated him so badly. "Filthy little blood sucker." He said. I wanted to tear into his throught so badly, but the pain in my neck stopped me. This inbedded collar was killing me. Why couldn't these humans understand wolves can't be domesticated? Idiots! Suddenly I was pushed forawrd. We started running. Our team was so messed up. I was depressed because of my condition, which made all tthe other dogs keep quiet.
I was loosing my mind. I was going insane. Why was a wild animal forced to be a slave to humans? Why was life so cruel? Dogs and humans...they are ment to be partners...I'm a wolf. Wolves are shot down by humans. I don't understand. Were so much like dogs. This was killing me. I wasn't ment for this. At last, the sled stopped at night. I dropped down in the snow. The human swung his hand at me to grab my collar and fling me back up. I growled at him. He kicked my head and walked away. My vision blurred and I passed out. My mind filled with images of my pack. They were fadeing out of my memory. I was becoming somthing. Not a dog. Not a wolf. Insane? A monster? I wished for death to take me.
Zuko woke me up. "C'mon. I'll get you somewhere safe to sleep." He said. I shakily stood up. I followed him to a bush, which I crawled under. "I'm so sorry." He said. "Humans..they don't understand." He said. He sat down in the snow. "You know," He started, "You may not belive me but...Not all humans are like this. There are a very few...they protect wolves." Zuko said.He looked at me, and looked back at the stars. Then I noticed the three large scratch marks across his back. Something another dog would have to do.
"Zuko...ah...What happened?" I asked, barely having enough energy to speak. He ignored me. I know he heard me, his ears twitched. "Zuko!" I barked. He looked down. He didn't want to tell me. I didn't know if he was just being stubborn or doing that for a reason. "Zuko!" I growled. "What did they do?"
"I..told them I was part wolf." He said. "They got pissed." He said. He turned away. "What?!" I stammered. He got up and started walking away. "Don't listen to them! You have twice their strength! Your more powerful! You have wolf blood!" I barked. He kept walking. "Don't be ashamed of what you are!" I yelped. He paused for a moment. Then he kept walking. I tried to get up, but fell back.
How could anyone make him belive his wolf blood was..some sort of like...poision? I looked up. The stars seemed to mock me. They were free. I wondered..if..if..My family was together. Dakota would have taken my spot as leader. Good for him. He'll be better for the pack. I'll die here. I couldn't run away. I was always ethier chained or in some sort of fenced area. There's a line of spiked sticking out of the ground so I couldn't escape into the woods.

I woke up the next morning and felt alittle better. I was atleast able to walk. Out of nowhere the human jumped out an crammed a muzzle over my snout. I couldn't defend myself. He grabbed me by my collar and pulled me to the sled. I tried to struggle. I couldn't get away from his grip. Maybe if I wasn't so weak I could. I was harnessed to the team and forced to pull.
I was so close yet so far away from the wilderness and mountains. Why would that human taunt me like that? It was cruel. I kept running. We went for a few hours. Down a path I knew well, until we took a turn into the woods. I wasn't familliar with this place. "Your in for it." Laughed Joe. I turned, expected him to pounce me, but he just looked onward. "Freak." I wispered to myself.
We were all tied down to trees with chains. The human pitched a tent a few yards away. Some of the dogs had curled up and gone to sleep. The only dogs left awake were me, Joe, and a wheel dog alittle farther away. "I know you want to die." Joe said. I just didn't even look at him. Suddenly a huge force was put on my leg. I yelped. "Fight me, little cannibal." He jabbed. "Wolves don't eat eachother, idiot." I growled.
He bit down on my tail. "You know what my master does for a living?" Joe snapped. "HE HUNTS WOLVES!" He barked. I couldn't help it. I Sprang forward, ready to tear out Joe's heart. Zuko jumped infront of him. I look a bone-shattering bite into his ribs. He fell over, hardly moving and making a face of pure pain. "ZUKO!" I screamed.

"You can't -ahh- pick a -ah- fight with -oh- the alpha dog." He managed to stammer. "Fool." Joe said. Kicking Zuko's bloody body to the side. "AAAHHHHHHH" He screamed with pain. "You were....falling into...his trap...he was going...to knock you over....and tear out you throught." He wispered. The musher came out and gasped. He hitched up the team and put Zuko on the sled. We rushed back to town to get Zuko some help.
I was tied back up to that tree in the woods near the human's house. I knew I couldn't take much more of it. Somthing moved in the bushes. "Zuko?" I asked. A single tear ran down my face. "I'm so sorry! Please....please...forgive me?" I sighed. "Zuko? Please. Answer back to me." I cried into the woods. I stepped forward. "Are you mad at me?" I barked. "ZUKO!" I called ou.t
He stepped forward. "You need to be more careful around those bigger dogs." He said. I ran as close to him as I could get. "You're such a good friend!" I barked. "I dunno if anyone would have come back to me." I said. "I couldn't leave without saying goodbye...." He said. "Leaving? Where are you going?!?" I jumped at him. "A family put an offer on me. I'm going to live with a kid named Cody." He said. "And I WILL break you out of here one day. I promise." He said. "I didn't want to leave you here hopeless." He said. "I didn't want to go." He said.
"No..You need to get out of here. I'll find my own way." I sat in the snow covereved pinestraw, which was damp with my blood. "I'll get out one day." I said. "I promise." Then a call rand out yelling Zuko's name. He hesitated, then went back to the humans. I howled long and hard. He howled back. I hope he would never forget his wolf blood.
When the human let me off of my chain, I ran straight...back to his home. Not the woods. Not yet. I ran as fast as I ever had. I skidded to a stop right before the team, walking in the morning snow. "JOE!" I yelled. I was sort of stubbleing around because of my wound. "Fight me now, winner takes all, leads the team, is alpha dog!" I growled. All the other team members crowded around. I stood with both my fore paws evenly spaced apart. My tail was out and straight, a wolf's warning. My back legs were half bent so I could pounce at any moment. My ears were back, teeth showing, eyes flickering with rage. "I'll shred you down five sizes!" I growled.
Joe looked around at the other dogs. He shakily took his possition. He had never fought, just pushed others around. I had such a high advantage. Suddenly we both jumped up at the same time, aimming for eachothers throughts. I tore at his face, trying to blind him. He tore at my paws. Stupid. I leaned down a bit and shoved him back into a tree. He was nearly knocked unconcious. I tasted blood in my mouth.
I jumped at his head. I pinned him down. He could eacily shake me off, but he was just to scared. "I'M THE ALPHA DOG!" I spat in his face. A few dogs sort of cheered. The human grabbed me by my collar. I nearly passed out
