The Loneliness
By Ahura Werewolf
Here are you?
Your scent lingers on the pine trees.
The soft touch of your paws is remembered by the grass.
The stench of the humans nearby clogs my nostrils.
My heart pounds with liquid fear.
Pressing my ears back.
Why do they hunt us?
The humans, what drives them to kill us?
Are they so heartless and without reason?
I must find you my love, but I fear death has taken you.
Beyond the realms of the lunar goddess.
My soul has already spread it's wings wide.
Searching for you.
My love.
As the darkness of the forest weighs down on me.
I howl into the air.
Carrying my soul on the winds.
Where are you?
When will we be in each others embrace?
A shape appears out of the mist.
As I look, ears perked forward.
A flat crack rings through the air.
I stagger and fall.
The world grows fuzzy and swirls out of focus.
My life taken by the humans.
I will wander these forests.
A ghost in the night.
Looking for my lost love.
