It was a bright sunny morning, and a young wolf named Jasmine walked out of her den. She took in a breath of fresh air stretched. In th middle of the clearing her best scout Hazayata was already up. "Hello Jasmine. It's a beautiful day. I'm planning to scout north today. May I take Cam with me? She is interested in learing how to be a scout." Jasmine nodded, "Of course, Hazayata. I'm glad she is taking interest in something to help the pack. Sonya must be very proud." Hazayata bowed his head and went to get Cam. Jasmine was the alpha female of the Aurora Borealis pack. She ruled with her mate Jautri and her packmates. There was Sirinia, a normal female in the pack, but when a  patrol or hunting party, she would gladly join in. Her mate Hazayata, was the lead scout, and very good at his position. There were the two pup-sitters, Sonya and Melinda, best friends and valued members of the pack. There were Sirinia and Hazayata's pups, Holly, Yama, Radulf and Ying. All four were fighters and very strong. There was also a normal male named Rhoscoe, who happened to have a big crush on Holly. They also had a great protector named Ryan, who guarded the den when the pack was out hunting or fighting. Also there was little Cam, the one who wanted to be a scout.  Then there were the awesome betas,  Crystal Dawn and Cyrus. And finally there was Jasmine's mate, and alpha male, Jautri. Jasmine loved Jautri very much, but every time she remembered Ethal, the wolf who had also loved her, she got very sad, because he had been very upset when she chose Jautri over him. She sighed and went to wake the pack. She jumped onto a big boulder and howled loudly. She heard wolves and dogs getting up from there dens and coming into the clearing. "Good morning everyone", Jasmine called, "Let's get the patrold and hunting parties set up. Sirinia, Holly, Rhoscoe and Ryan. You can go hunting, and make sure you listen to Sirinia. Ying, Yama, Crystal Dawn and Cyrus, you can go patroling along the west border. Radulf, come with Jautri and I. We are thinking of extending our territory, and we would like some company." Radulf happily nodded and followed Jasmine and Jautri. She let Jautri take the lead and she walked beside Radulf. "I hear that you're doing well as a fighter. You're mother tells me that you are very strong." Radulf blushed, "I guess. But I know that I still have a lot to learn. And I'm only strong because my mother and father were very strong young dogs. But none us is ready to compare ourselves to Yama." Jasmine smiled. Yama was a fearless fighter, and the strongest of the litter. But what worried Jasmine was that Yama was also reckless and cocky. "Yes. Yama is a very good fighter. But she takes to big of risks. That's what worries me. I don't want her getting hurt." Jasmine and Radulf looked around. Jautri had disapeered.
But then he came running to them. "Come quick, Jasmine! There are some strange wolves wandering around the territory just outside our border. Let's find out what their up too." Jasmine growled and Radulf snarled, and they follwed Jautri.

When they arrived they were shocked. About 15 wolves were there, scent marking around there territory. Jasmine was furious. "What do you think you're doing?! Are you planning to cross our border? Who are you?" A brown-cream wolf with some blue marking walked up to her and smirked. "I am Hikari, alpha female of the Sun Jewel Pack. And yes we are planning to cross you're border. Orders from the alpha male of Sun Jewel. We have over 30 wolves and dogs in our pack, so don't bother challenging us. If you are that mad though, I could send for the alpha male to come talk to you." Jautri stepped forward, "Yes, we would like to see him. Now, if you don't mind.  What kind of mad wolf just goes around challenging other packs?" Hikari walked away into the forest to get the alpha male. The three of them sat down patiently, waiting. Jautri looked at Jasmine and Radulf, "This isn't good. If they outnumber us, we won't stand a chance. They seem pretty confident about what they are planning. If they surprise attack us, we'll be totally unprepared. We'll be destroyed!" Jasmine sadly nodded, "You're right Jautri. If they want to get rid of us, they will. To be prepared, we had better get Yama, Holly, Ying and you Radulf, to train the members in our pack who aren't good enough fighters yet. Can I trust you and you're siblings to train the pack?" Radulf nodded happily, "You can count on us, Jasmine. Thank you so much!" Jasmine nodded and continued waiting. When Hikari came back, behind her was a magnificent yellow and brown wolf. He gave her a stare that was full of hatred. "Hello, Jasmine". Jasmine gasped at the wolf standing in front of her. "Ethal!"
