bushes and see a pair of dark brown eyes. All three of Vixey's protecter's snarl. Then slowly out of bushes appears a large German Shepard.

Hunter: Who are you?

The shepard does not respond. Out from behind him comes a human. A man that look like he's in his late 50s. He is holding a rilfe in his hands.

Man: Good boy. Looks like my collection is about to expand.

Tod both growls and snarls at the human. Almost like a demon.

Tod: Vixey get in the hole!!

Vixey bolts for the fox hole. The hunter takes aim and fires. He misses by only a few inchs. Vixey makes it into the hole. After his first shot, Told bolts for the hunter and the Shepard bolts for Tod. Tod completly ignors the shepard and keeps going for  the hunter. Before the Shepard can even open his mouth to bite Tod, he is tackled by Hunter. While Hunter and Willow are fighting the Shepard, Tod goes right for the hunter's leg. The hunter tires to cock his rifle agian but Tod bites him on the leg.

The hunter falls to the ground and Tod climbs on to the his chest. But Tod does not see the hunter reach for the side of his hip and pull out a huge knfie. He raises it into the air to stab Tod in the back. But Tod sees the shadow of the knife and rolls of the hunter. The hunter gets back up and Tod tries to climb up his back.

However, the hunter grabs Tod's tail and throws Tod over to a tree. Tod hits the tree and his knocked out. The hunter then grabs his rifle and take it over to the fox hole. Willow sees this and looks back to Hunter.

Hunter: Get him. I'll handle the dog.

Willow goes over to the hunter who is looking in the fox hole bending over. Willow bites the hunter in his butt. The hunter screams in pain. At the same time, the Hunter bites the shepard in the neck and he falls to the ground and bleeds out. The hunter shake Willow off and sees Hunter standing over his dead dog. The hunter growls at the animals and starts to walk away.

Man: You may have won this round. But I'll be back. With more that what I got. And when I do come back...your all goanna be made into to blankets!

The hunter turns around and walk away. Hunter and Willow make sure he is gone. Tod comes out of the bushes and looks to Hunter and Willow.

Tod: You guy's ok?

Hunter: Were fine.

Tod looks behind him and sees the shepard on the ground.

Tod: Is he dead?

Hunter: Yeah, he's dead.

Tod: Vixey!

Tod bolts for the fox hole and sees Vixey come out of it.

Tod: Are you hurt?

Vixey: No.

Tod: Thank god.

Willow: What was that all about? I though you said hunting season was not for a few days.

 Tod: That guy was hunter illigley.

Willow: He said he was coming back.

Hunter: We better be ready then.

Vixey: So what do we do?

Tod: I bit him in the leg pretty hard. It'll take a while for him to recover.

Hunter: I think we better get some sleep.

Willow: That's a good idea. We can think about what to do in the morning.

Tod: You two can stay outside for the night.

Hunter: That works.

Vixey: We'll see you two in the morning.

Willow: Night.

Tod and Vixey go into there fox hole and fall asleep. Hunter and Willow fall asleep on the hill about the fox hole.
The next morning Tod come out of the fix hole and he streches his body ouy. He looks over to the small pond and sees Willow cleaning herself. He walks over to her.

Tod: Hi.

Willow: Moring Tod. Sleep well?

Tod: Yeah great. You?

Willow: It was ok. 

They are quiet for a moment and just staire at the pond. Willow looks to Tod.

Willow: Can I ask you something?

Tod: Sure!

Willow: What's your story between you and this Copper? Why did he stop Slade from killing you?

Tod: I guess I should start from the beggining.

Willow: Take your time.

Tod: All right. I was being carried by my mother and.....

Meanwhile at a saloon in town not to far from his place, Slade enters it with Copper at his side. They find a table. After a while with talking with a buch of people, the door bursts open and everyone looks to the entrance. Standing in the door way, is the man that tried to kill Tod, Vixey, Hunter and Willow yeterday. He sits down at the counter right next to Slade.

Man: One shot please.

The man gets his drink and has it.

Slade: Well, well. well. Sam Buckeye.

Sam: Amos Slade. Lone time no see.

Slade: What are you doing here? I thought your hunting lisense was taken away.

Buckeye: I got it back. I herd that were goanna be out this season.

Slade: Yeah my leg screwed up when I was after a fox.

Buckeye: A fox?

Slade: I was about to get it but then a huge bear came at me.

Buckeye: Really?

Slade: Then after that I had that fox right in front of me. But then Copper here stood in my way. Copper diddn't want me to kill it. I let the fox go. But that fox was a cunning one alright.

Buckeye: Cunnning? Hmm. It's an odd coincidence.

Slade: What?

Buckeye: I was scouting the game area today with one of my dogs and I came across a fox that was very cunning.

Copper (who is on the floor below Slade's seat) picks his head up and gets worried look on his face.

Copper: No.

Slade: Did you get it?

Buckeye: No.

Copper: Thank god!

Buckeye: He some firends with him.

Copper: Friends?

Buckeye: There were two dog there. Well one was a husky and the other looked like a husky. The male dog killed Jupiter. And the female bit me in the butt.

Slade and many other people around them laugh. Copper laughs as well.

Slade: Jupiter's dead? Dang. He was a good hunting dog.

Buckeye: It's ok.  His death wont be in vain though.

Slade: What are you talking about?

Buckeye: I've been doing alot since I've been gone.

Slade: Really? Like what?

Buckeye: Just wait and I'll show you. Cause when the hunting season starts...that fox and his two friends will be make great clothes.

Copper gasps and runs out of the saloon.

Buckeye: Hey Copper's leaving.

Slade: He;s fine. He leaves alot. My best guess is that he's got his eye on some girl.

Buckeye: Hmm.

As Copper runs through the parking lot, he passes a massive sized truck and hears many dogs bark and growl from the bed of the truck. Copper looks up and sees the the bed of the tuck is coverd. Then Copper catches the scent of what is in the truck and feels a cold chill down his spine.

Copper: I got to tell Tod.

Copper bolts into the forest and heads for Tod's.

 

 

Meanwhile, at the pond Hunter, Tod, Willow and Vixey are all laughing as Tod tells them about his childhood with Copper.

Willow: Wait.....You mean you stole a cow!?

Willow keeps laughing.

Tod: Well I had to find a way to wash the peanut butter out of Copper's mouth.

They all continue to laugh and it finally dies down.

Hunter: Do all of that really happend?

Tod: It did?

Vixey: What ever happend to the Singing Strays after the Grand Old  Opry?

Tod: Copper said that he herd that they got really famous after that. And still are to this day.

Hunter: That's so cool.

Tod: Yeah.

Tod is slient for a moment.

Vixey: So have any of you got any ideas on what to do?

Hunter: Well I....

Voice: Tod!!

They all turn there heads to the left and see Copper coming right at them. Copper comes up and pays no attention to Hunter and Willow.

Tod: What is it?

Copper: That hunter you stopped.

Tod: What about him?

Copper: He's coming back!

Tod: What? When?

Copper: Tommorrow. And he's goanna hove more dogs than just one.

Hunter: How many?

Copper: I dont know. My guess is three. And by the way who the hell are you? Are you the friends that Buckeye was talking about?

Willow: That's us.

Copper: Thank you. For saving there lives.

Hunter: Your welcome.

Vixey: If there coming tommorrw then we better think up a plan.

Tod: What was your idea Hunter?

HUnter: Well my idea was to try and find a way to eathier kill Buckeye or just scare him away. I guess ship has sailed. He's got more dogs with him.

Willow I got it!

All: What?

Willow: Copper? You got a great scence of smell right? 

Copper: Yes?

Willow: Do those other dogs have a good scence of smell like you?

Copper: I'm not sure.

Hunter: There Shepards. They have strength. Not smell.

Willow: What if find a way to seperate the dogs from the hunter. And we can take care of the dogs and then get rid of Buckeye.

Tod: That is a good idea.

Willow: But...there is one part that is very exterme.

Vixey: Which is what?

Willow: One of us...is goanna have be chased by Buckeye.

They is shocked and look at each other. Vixey takes a deep breath.

Vixey: I'll do it.

Tod: No way!

Vixey: All of you are stronger than me. And Tod, you know I'm faster then you.

Tod: Your carrieing our kids.

Vixey: Tod. You need to take care of the dogs. I know the forrest better than anyone else here.

Tod thinks about it for a minute and looks back to her.

Tod: Ok.

Hunter: You sure you wanna do this?

Vixey: Yeah.

Hunter: Ok. Is there a small clearing near bye?

Vixey: Yeah.

Copper: Were goanna fight them in the open?

Hunter: This'll work. Trust me. Do you all trust me?

They all nod there heads.

Hunter: First thing....Tod?

Tod: Yeah, Hunter?

Hunter: Were goanna need some of your fur?

Tod: Huh!?

 

The sun slowly rises over the mountain. When the sun is at it's highest, Hunter, Willow, Vixey and Tod are in a small clearing.

Vixey: Where's Copper? He was supposed to lay out the trail.
