The sun rises over the Alasken tundra. As it rises over the mountains the shadows fade away, on a small hill that is coverd from the sun by the much taller mountains, two graves are revealed. On the graves are two names that will never be forgotten.

On one grave: Here lies Balto. Hero of Nome.

Under that is another small engraving.

It says: Do not dig up.

And on the other one: Here lies Jenna. Mate of the hero.

That hill looks over the town of Nome. The sun fully rises and the streets are crowded a usueal. Everyone is going about there lives. Around the time that the streets are busy, Dingo is walking down the street minding his own business. As he passes an alley he hears a clattering noise. Dingo looks down the alley and sees nothing but hears another noise.

Dingo: What is that?

He takes a few steps into the alley and still sees nothing. He turns around and starts to walk out of the alley. But he hears a scream. Dingo turns around and dashes down the alley. He turns around a corner and sees many dogs in a circle. He sneaks up behind them looks over the dogs.

He sees a female dog fighting another dog. Dingo is shoked to see this and looks over and sees a box. He dashes for it and jumps into the middle of the ring.  He growls at the other dogs.

DIngo: Stay away from her.

A large all black husky comes forward.

Husky: You got some guts kid. I think you better go home.

Dingo:Bite me!

DIngo charges at the large group but they out number him and badly hurt him. They back away. Dingo is on the ground barley moving. The same Hunky look over the girl that they were fighting.

Husky: Your lucky this guy was here to save you Mila. We'll settle this another time. Lets go.

Mila gets angry as she watches the dogs leave. She turns her attention to DIngo. Who is still on the ground. She walks over to him and looks over his body.

Mila: Why did you do that?

Dingo opens his mouth and tries to speek.

Dingo: I was not let them hurt you.

Mila: I'm not afraid to die. I can handle those bastards myself. I should kill you for helping me!!!

She takes her paw and puts her paw on his neck. Stark opens his eyes for about two second and he get a look at MIla. She has all brown fur but the fur form her kees dowr are all black.

Dingo: Your...beautiful.

She gasps to this and takes her paw off his throat. Dingo passes out. MIla dashs to teh street and alerts many humans. They take Dingo to the vet. Many hours later, a large group of dogs wait in the lobby of the vet's. This includes Stark, Kodi, Dusty, Hunter and Mila. Hunter is walking back and forth pacing with an angry look on his face. At last he turns to Mila still with an angry look on his face.

Hunter: Ok. You better tell me why my brother is in there!

Kodi: Esay Hunter.

Dusty: Calm down.

Hunter: Not until I know what the hell happend.

Mila: Sit down and I'll tell you everything.

Hunter takes a few steps back and sits down.

Mila: I was fighting a dog gang in that alley. Dingo saved me from them.

Stark: Why were they attcking you?

Mila: Because of my father.

Dusty: Your father?

Mila: They wanted my father as a part of there gang. But he said no and the leader, Coyote killed him. I was just a pup then. My mom made sure that they would never find me. She was killed not to long after that.

Dusty: Oh my god.

Mila: I came here cause I though I would be safe. But I guess they found me.

Stark: Great! Another pain in the ass to deal with in this town.

At that second the vet comes out and keels to the dogs. All the dogs get around him. He smiles and whisles. Dingo comes out of the door behind him. All the dogs but Mila run to DIngo. There are many barks and laughs. Mila backs away a bit. Dingo changes looks over to her and smiles at her. He walks over to her.

Dingo: Thanks.

Mila: Don't mention it.

She turns around and starts to leave. Dingo paces his head back a forth for less then two seconds. He looks back to Mila.

Dingo: Wait!

Mila looks back to him.

Mila: Yes?

Dingo: Would you like to go out with me sometime? 

Mila cracks a small smile.

Mila: I'd love to. Is tommorow good.

Dingo: Meet me at the bloiler room around five.

Mila: See yeah then.

Mila walks out of the vets. DIngo turns around smileing and his brothers gather around him.

Stark: Lucky dog.

Hunter: I knew this day would come!

DIngo: Really?

Hunter: No. I thought you would die alone.

Kodi: Shut up, Hunter!

Dingo: I think I should get some rest.

Kodi: Dusty and I will walk you home.

Dingo: Ok lets go.

Stark: Be careful.

Dingo's home is not to far awat from the vets. It is a short walk and Kodi and Dusty tell him what Mila told them. Just as they finnish, they stop in fornt of Dingo's house.

DIngo: That's a sad story.

Dusty: It is. Living a life were a dog gag wants to kill you. Thats not right.

Kodi: Do you really think you should go out with her? Even after what we just told you?

Dingo: I dont care that she is being huntend. I'll protect her.

Kodi and Dusty look at each other and smile. Kodi walks up to Dingo and rubs his head aganist Dingo's face. Kodi backs up and looks up to the hills. DIngo and Dusty look too but only for a second. Kodi looks back to Dingo.  

Kodi: Mom and Dad would be proud.

Dusty sheds a tear and for one second every thing goes quiet. Like all the sound on the earth fadded away. Dingo goes rubs his head on Kodi's face.

Dingo: Thanks Kodi. You too Dusty.

She comes up to him and nuzzels him. Not another word is said. Dingo goes inside and Kodi and Dusty walk away. At the same time MIla is lying down in an alley. She looks up to the stars for a few moments and falls asleep. 

The sun rises over the hills. The day moves on. It was a quiet day in Nome. Out side the boiler room Mila is resting. She is approched by Dingo. He rubs his head against her face. She wakes up and the first thing she see is Dingo's face.

MIla: Hey.

Dingo: Hi. Are you ready?

Mila: You bet. What are we gonna eat?

Dingo: Follow me.

She follows him into the boiler room. In there, are two plates with pieces of meat on them. They sit down next to each other.

Mila: This looks great!

Dingo: It's the best meat you'll ever have.

Mila: Really?

DIngo: Take a bite.

Mila looks at the meat and reachs for a small piece of it. She takes one bite of it. At that second, the look on her face is like she saw a ghost.

Mila: Oh my god!

Dingo: Told you so.

After they eat there food, they start to relax for a while.

Dingo: So my brother told me about why those dogs were attacking you. I'm sorry about you parents.

Mila: It's ok. I just wish they'll leave me alone.

Dingo: I'll protect you. So will my brothers.

Mila: Your bothers are strong?

DIngo: I guess I should tell you that I'm the son of Balto.

Mila's has a suprised look on her face.

Mila: I don't belelive it. The hero of Nome is your father?

Dingo: Yes.

Mila: Where is he? I'd love to meet him!

Dingo's face changes from happy to sorrow. He gets up and walks to the door and watchs the snow fall. He doesnt look back to her.

Dingo: My father is dead.

Mila lowers her head and closes her eyes.

Mila: Your mother?

Dingo: She's gone too. They died on the same night.

Mila gets up and runs to his side. She rubs her head on his cheek.

Mila: I'm sorry I didnt...

Dingo: It's ok.

He turns his head to her.

Dingo: Wow.

Mila: What?

Dingo: Your eyes. They remind me of my mother.

Mila: How so?

Dingo: They show the reflection of the snow falling.

Mila: That's romantic.

Dingo: Thank you.

She rests her head on his chest as they watch the snow fall. About five minutes later, Dingo looks to Mila.

DIngo: Can I show you something?

Mila: Yeah sure.

DIngo leads her into town. She follows Dingo to the side of the hospital. THey go into the boiler room on the side of the hospital. They go through a hole that leads under the hospital.

Mila: What is this place?

Dingo: Sort of a romantic spot for my family.

Mila: What does that mean?

DIngo doesnt say another word. They stop at a light that shines through a covering in the floor.

Dingo: This is the most beautiful spot in the world.

Mila: I can't see why.

Dingo: Cause you looking at the bowl half empty.

He reachs for a large set of broken bottles.

Dingo: See this?

He pushs the broken bottles under the light.

DIngo: The polar Ice caps.

Mila: Those are broken bottles.

Dingo puts them in the right place.

He points to the light.

Dingo: Sun.

Mila: Dingo...

Dingo: And to the north.

He steps out of the light and something bright appears behind Mila.  She turns around and see the Northern Lights.

Mila: That Northern Lights! How did you do this?

Dingo: It wasn't me. My father showed this to all of his pups. And he told us to show this to the ones we love.

Mila: It's so beautiful.

Dingo: Yeah. Beautiful.

She turns her head to him. There head move closer and closer. They passionitly nuzzle each other for a few minutes. Dingo takes a step back and looks at her.

Dingo: Mila, will you be my mate?

Mila smiles and respondes to him with a very quiet tone.

Mila: Yes.

They nuzzel each other as the lights go out. The only light is a few small night lights for the patints. At the same time, in the woods near Nome a female husky is murderd. And standing over the body is Coyote. He turns around and passes by the rest of the gang.

Coyote: You all know what to do.

He goes on to a cliff and looks out to Nome.

Coyote: Now that she has a protecter,  its only fare to kill them both at the same time.

Moring rises. Dingo wakes up and sees Mila right next to him. Mila wakes up at that second.

Mila: Morning.

DIngo: Hi. Say I have to do something. Why don't you wait for me at the boiler room?

Mila: Can I come with you?

Dingo: It's kind of private. But I'll tell you later ok?

Mila: All right.

The walk out of the boiler room. Before going seperate ways, they nuzzle. As Mila heads to the boiler room, she is confronted by Coyote. Mila gets an angry look on
